Shelby did a trial for me when I was in San Diego a few months ahead of the wedding along with my welcome dinner makeup and wedding makeup for me and the entire family! I had a horrible experience with a hair stylist named Danielle Brucklacher and I want to warn…read moreothers about it. I made the mistake of inviting her into my home on 12-1-2022 for a hair coloring appointment, after she told me that she had lost her salon job and I felt sorry for her. She insisted on doing my hair in the kitchen with bad lighting, which made it difficult for her to see what she was doing. To make matters worse, she ended up overcharging me for a botched job that turned my hair orange. I cant believe I tipped but I didn't truly realize how awful it was until she left. When I told her about the orange hair in the better light, she blamed me for having "too much regrowth" and demanded that I see her every 4 weeks, or else she couldn't do her job properly. What's worse is that she used cheap products from Amazon instead of professional-grade ones, which caused my hair to become damaged and brittle. She didn't even bring shampoo or conditioner to wash my hair after coloring. When I disputed the charges, she became extremely defensive and aggressive, even harassing me and almost coming at me physically. She is probably on drugs acting this way. Afterwards, she started blowing up my phone and calling me 7-10 times in a 5 minute period, so I had to block her. Then, she sent 23 nasty, hateful, aggressive text messages complaining about my house, my kids, and even insulting my "ugly head". See attached pictures of her messages. I only found them recently in a blocked messages file while updating my phone. To top it off, she had no boundaries and told me personal information about her family, including the fact that her sons were expelled from school for fighting and that they had to leave the county and live in the middle of nowhere as a result. Looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. It's truly disappointing to see such unprofessional and unethical behavior from someone who claims to be a hair stylist. I would strongly advise against visiting Danielle Brucklacher for any hair-related services, as she clearly lacks the necessary skills and expertise to provide a quality service.

I had read that the airbrush makeup is much better than traditional makeup, so I did a google search for a makeup artist. There were a few that looked good, but they were so expensive. I didn't want to spend $1,000 just on makeup for myself and my three bridesmaids. I then found Kirsten's website and sent an email inquiry. She did the airbrush makeup and her price is very reasonable. I also like the photos she had on her website. Everyone looked amazing and natural. That is exactly was I was looking for. I had quickly signed up for her to do my makeup for my engagement shoot. Let me just say this, she is beyond talented. I stupidly decided to try the spray tan right before my engagement shoot. I told the lady at the tanning place that I just needed a light tan just to get rid of the tan lines. I didn't want to be too dark. Of course, I come out looking orange. Kirsten was so amazing with my makeup. She took out most of the orange and I looked great for my photos. My photographer asked me if I had done my makeup and I told her that I had a makeup artist do my makeup. She told me that I better book my makeup artist for my wedding because she said my makeup was fantastic, especially in the photos. I am so happy to have her doing my makeup on my wedding day. If you are looking for amazing talent and at a decent price then you NEED to book her!

After searching a couple days for a MUA in OC and the SD area to no avail, I found Makeup Artist on the Go on good ol' Yelp. I was able to book my artist Cat so easy and quickly through e-mail with their team! Let me just say that Cat was the sweetest and most amazing makeup artist. She showed up at my hotel and transformed me into a dramatic skeletal being. Cat was so creative and she definitely exceeded my expectations!! I received so many compliments that night and Cat's superb skills helped me stay in character with my costume. I will definitely use MUA on the go again and will be letting all my friends know about this business. They were all super professional and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I watched so many people look for me and not realize I was right by them because they didn't even recognize me hahahah. Which is EXACTLY what I wanted! To top that off though, and what really made me want to write a review, was Kandice's professionalism and her desire to please. Everything from her email signature stating what her email/office hours are, to taking credit card info upfront online, to having an away message when she was on a short vacation... Extremely respectable. It's so easy to trust someone that takes pride in their business, has proper grammar/capitalization, etc. Not all that easy to find in SD. As far as her "desire to please"... She was SO accommodating. The exact opposite of snooty which kept shocking me from a young female that likes makeup in Southern CA haha. Heck, when I mentioned that I would be late because parking was hard to find, she even offered to walk downstairs to come meet me and show me where to park. And that's just one example. :) If I ever get married I would be LUCKY to have her as my right-hand!

I booked appointments for me, my sister and my mom to get our hair done with her and our makeup done by Christina. Both of them texted me through the process helping me with ideas so I felt prepared. Fast forward to the day of the wedding and our salon experience was amazing. Minnie even went the extra mile in getting us snacks as we were getting ready -- as well as taking pictures of us to remember the moments. Both Minnie and Christina were absolutely amazing. They finished well ahead of our photo deadline and their prices were also very reasonable. I would definitely recommend them and this salon if you're getting married nearby!
