I emailed Mobile Beauty Team to ask for a quote for my wedding. They responded fast with a quote. However, I emailed them back accepting the quote and the communication is odd. I keep on getting emails back asking if I want to hear there promos, I get separate emails back asking the same questions as I already answered. I will not be giving my money to this place. If they can't even communicate to set up the appointment, I can just imagine what else they will mess up. Also, I tried calling them but they never answer and their voicemail is full. This review is sorely overdue and in all fairness the business very likely could have changed course to improve over the years. I booked THREE MUA for hair/make up for my wedding day. TWO showed up. My bridesmaids all looked fabulous as they were done first- the artists/stylists rushed for my hair and make up which was done last and we were SO behind schedule because of it. I was trying to not cry the whole time they were doing my make up and threw my hair together. It was sloppy. We were late for the bus that took us to the cliff to La Jolla, like VERY LATE, and had to SKIP PHOTOS on the cliff in order to make it to the reception. We also paid extra for the bus because we went over time and the bus company had another event. In hindsight I wish I had spoken up, this was devastating and absolutely unacceptable. At the time I did not have the voice to advocate for myself. Now, six years later I am tearing up remembering how stressful my wedding was because HAIR AND MAKE UP didn't show up with the whole team and caused such a horrible delay with poor result for ONLY the bride. It was so unfair. I'm currently planning an event for a friend and looking for MUA- saw this business in the search- hence the very late review. I lagged on booking someone for hair and make up for my wedding. I'm not what you would call a "girly girl" I don't wear make up on the regular and hardly change my hairstyle lol so I was a bit lost on what I would want for my wedding. My friend suggested Mobile Beauty Team initially but I was hesitant since I didn't see too many people with my skin tone on their Instagram and Yelp so I wasn't sure how well they would do with POC skin tones. Months were closing in and most people wanted to charge me close to 200 alone for my make-up so my friend suggested them again and assured me I would be fine. She told me to just book them, get a trial done, give them feedback after the trial and all will be well. So, I did exactly what she said.  The trial went decently and how light my face make-up looked at the time got me worried a bit. I did give my honest feedback and then on the wedding day when I saw the final product... I was SO HAPPY!  I loved my it! Eddie was my make-up stylist and she did so great. My bridal party looked awesome too. We also got the package with the hair. I don't have photos of the back of my hair, but Carly was our stylist and she did all of our hair great as well. She was very accommodating and wanted to make sure I really liked it. Major kudos to those two ladies. (Also everything held up well through the night. Someone even commented how great my make-up was holding up.) It was a great value as well. I had someone cancel on my hair and makeup for a school gala masquerade days before the event. I found Mobile Beauty Team on yelp and contacted them to get details. Kirsten Jensen responded to me before she was even at work. She was incredibly knowledgeable and helped me book the right appointment for the event. She also assured me, I would never be left without someone covering the appointment when booking with Mobile Beauty Team. The process of booking was easy and communication with Kirsten was supportive throughout. I booked the appointment at the hotel I was staying at (the venue for the gala) and had requested early check-in. I was waiting in the hotel lobby for my not so early check-in for almost two hours. I contacted Kirsten to let her know I was still waiting on the room and that it seemed unlikely I would have the room before my appointment time. She was super familiar with the hotel and assured me my makeup/hair stylist would come a bit later to make it work. She went above and beyond and contacted the hotel to work with them to get my room ready faster. While I was waiting she helped me feel calm and supported in a stressful situation. When I was able to check-in Starr met me in the room just minutes after I arrived. She was incredibly understanding and made me feel much more at ease and less under pressure. To make it even better, in my near panicked state, I tried my best to explain the vision I had in my head for hair and makeup and Starr nailed it. My hair and makeup turned out better than I had envisioned it. She has a true gift as a stylist and I would recommend her to anyone. The Team sent a wonderful stylist (Faith) to me for a trial run. That alone went very well and gave Faith a sense of what I was looking for both for my hair and makeup. DON'T TRUST WEDDINGWIRE - I posted a review on their website and they emailed me that they took it down since I never hired this company - that makes for misleading information as the experience I had with Mobile Beauty Team was still legitimate and made me not want to work with them, and it could happen to you as well. See attached email thread - this company's email literally says "We will get back to you within 24 hours of your email :)" And they do NOT. I wrote to mobile beauty team inquiring information about a wedding in October. I specifically mentioned that I wanted a trial while I was in San Diego for a day (I live out of state). I get emails back mostly trying to convince me to book my wedding date saying they have availability "AS OF NOW!" or using words like, "However that changes by the moment," like I'm not aware that things get booked up quickly. After I was getting emails quickly back and forth, once I gave the information about the wedding, I hardly hear anything back. I am assuming it is because I was more adamant about booking a trial BEFORE booking the actual wedding day. Either I'd get no emails, no answers when I called, no callbacks after voicemails...or they'd answer only some of the questions via email and dodge the other ones completely. I kept re-forwarding my emails to them in hopes they'd answer. Doesn't seem professional enough for me to book ANYTHING through them. After emailing them that they obviously weren't interested in helping me anymore, I FINALLY get a phone call. No thanks! Wouldn't recommend. The make up artist who worked on me did not prep my skin or used products that would make my make up last. I booked them because I thought it was professional artist but not someone who would start putting on concealer right away before any prep. One hour into the event my make up starting coming off. Also, the timeline is not accurate. Plan for 30 min more to an hour. For the price I paid I would not recommend. You're better going to Sephora or Ulta beauty. I liked the communication on this team they were very thorough. Did not like the makeup on my first trial and I appreciated the fact that the accommodated it. They did me dirty on my hair for my wedding and we were running late and the Hair stylist came very late. We were late and we had skip photos and we were rushing and it was a horrible experience because of it. Also, she had to do 6 people and she did 5, had she done 6 it would've been so bad. And the hairstylist was really being snippy with us when we gave her feedback. All in all I would say if you're a future bride trying to find a good price I wouldn't recommend this team. I would either do your own or pay a premium price for something else. Priscilla was soooo sweet. My experience with this company was nothing but pleasant from booking to arriving. Priscilla arrived right on time, she did both my hair and makeup for a couples shoot we did to make up for not having a wedding. We have been married almost a year and didn't have a wedding or any photos for the house, my husband leaves to boot camp soon and having these photos meant the world to me. Priscilla helped make it even more special. My only regret is that I wasn't vocal enough in what I wanted, (hey I'm new to this stuff) and so I didn't get the look I 100% wanted but that's on me. I just showed her two photos on what I was going for and didn't really vocalize anything else, but Priscilla killed it regardless. My advice: be vocal! My experience with MBT was 100% positive. First off, the company is very responsive. They are quick to answer e-mails for questions & quotes. They are clear about their pricing & service to artist ratio. I appreciated this because they are mindful of the time of the event & ensuring you are on time. One artist can do about 6-7 individual services ( hair = 1 service, make-up = 1 service.) There are minimums depending on area of service, so that is something to keep in mind & specify/ plan while booking and asking for quotes. Their prices are very reasonable and a good deal especially for the H&M combo package. I think it is very convenient to have both services done by the same artist/ company as it makes the service cohesive & communication more seamless. Our group's artist was Emilie. She met us at our hotel in the area of our venue. She was so delightful to be around and understood the inspo pix & recreated them on my bridesmaids, moms & myself.
