This moving company is honestly pure Trash. I've moved several times over the years and I've NEVER had an experience this bad. I've also NEVER had movers try to charge me nearly $1000 to move a small 2-bedroom apartment! It took their inadequate movers 7 hours to complete a job that has never taken more than 3 hours (what we agreed on) to finish! Absolutely ridiculous. They kept taking breaks and purposely kept dragging the time out. One mover kept standing around just *watching* the other guy and was distracting him with conversation instead of getting off his OWN butt to do the work he was paid to do. This same guy dropped one of my storage cabinets down the steps because he was barely holding it. The Team Lead tried to warn him about that, but it was too late - ALL of my items were all over the hallway. They both swore that everything was placed back inside the cabinet and that I shouldn't worry. But nope! Once I was settled into my new place and took a look - several items were missing, including my expensive flat iron. I'm so pissed. The Lead was friendly and apologetic, but honestly didn't have the stamina to move items for an extended period of time at all. Lastly, they broke one of the legs on my bedroom chest. They also bent up the back of my portable closet. I called Bellhop (3) times DURING the move so that they could keep track of everything. And (3) more time afterwards. In the end... they failed to resolve this massive issue. They REFUSED to allow me to speak with a Manager as well. They took $100 off but still wanted to charge me $900! For a move that should have costed $400-$500 TOPS? Are you freaking serious? I have now filed a dispute with my bank over this charge. I want my money back for the extra they charged me. I shouldn't have to pay for your awful movers miserably failing to do their job properly or on time. FYI: Bellhop finds your movers last minute. They *do not* work for this company! They also do not provide them with any tools either. Like WTF? Don't waste your time with these unprofessional people. You've been warned. read more

TERRIBLE experience. I moved cross-country and booked loaders and unloaders at either end. The loading team was THREE HOURS late. Communication was terrible across the board, from the loading team that didn't communicate AT ALL to anyone about running late or their own efforts to make other arrangements, to the customer service that I had to call multiple times for updates. It was like pulling teeth to get any information out of them, I spoke to someone different every time and they just kept putting me on hold saying they were waiting for a response from someone. I was hopeful when "Aneesa" called me and said she was working on an alternative solution to get a loading team out to me the same day, but even though she seemingly gave me a direct phone number and a number to text updates, it was impossible to get ahold of her or get any other information. She promised me an "appeasement" for the team being late but said it wasn't able to be processed until after the move was complete and wouldn't say how much they were offering for the massive inconvenience. More on this later. When the team did finally show up, they had not told me or apparently even Bellhop that they were coming. They showed up totally unprepared with no equipment whatsoever. Several items had small damages (scratches/dents) and several boxes were placed upside down in the truck. After the move was complete I reached back out to Bellhop to ask about the discount I had been offered since no one had gotten in touch with me. So far I have called three separate times and just been put on hold while someone waits for someone to respond, then never actually gives me any information. Honestly I'm at the point of contesting the charge on my credit card because this is just ridiculous. Their website sucks too, the AI chatbot is a joke, the live agent chat just doesn't work, and I am unable to submit my reviews for my loading/unloading teams through their system. On the contrary, we had a wonderful unloading team at the other end who was on time, communicative (called me two days before to confirm and called me again when they were on the way to my place), well-prepared and efficient. Next time I move I will be booking with them directly but will NEVER use Bellhop again. read more

I will tell anyone who asks not to use this company. We booked a move for the Saturday of Mem. Day weekend and got a confirmation on May 3. We were originally looking for options that might have someone pack a truck for us while we finish the job. Bellhop offered this, as well as a rate that seemed quite affordable for a full move, so we booked it. After that, I received a series of 8 emails over the ensuing weeks with all sorts of helpful packing suggestions to help me prepare, I took them seriously. We even got a Meet your Team email a couple of days prior to the scheduled move. Moving day: they are 20 minutes late. I call and talk to someone who has to keep putting me on hold to check on things. He can only tell me he is working on getting a hold of someone. While i've been on hold with him for about 30 minutes, I get a call from a supervisor who informs me that they need to re-schedule the move for Monday. What!? We've packed absolutely everything and - by this time - the truck should've been in the process of loading. We're irate, but what choice to we have on Mem. Day weekend. Ugh! We sleep on the floor the next couple of days. Sunday, late morning, I'm having a conversation with a friend and receive a call from Bellhop informing me that they need to cancel the move. What!? The supervisor informs me that he chose to call me rather than text me this information because they feel bad. He also says they are offering not only to refund my deposit, but to offer us $150 as a consolation. When I balk at the amount, he adds that the "higher-ups" wanted to offer us less. Not only have they completely screwed us on one of the busiest moving weekends of the year, they can't even offer us $$ to cover the cost of scrambling to find other movers. We were extremely lucky in that our refrigerator deliveryman mentioned that he does moves and that he was actually willing and able to put together a crew in about 16 hours. As for the promised $150, while they did refund my deposit, that money has never shown up on my credit card. (We had a plumbing mishap with a local company, soon after, and were refunded money on our cc within a day.) Do NOT use these folks unless you want to be screwed and unable to do much about it. I'm seeing several other poor reviews to this effect, so am clearly not alone! read more

One star is several too many. I post this only to caution folks who might use Bellhop for a cross country move as I did. Bellhop subcontracts to some unsavory people. TWO moving trucks left my former home; THREE trucks arrived at my new home. This is because a truck stopped off somewhere on the 1600-mile route and split up the contents of his truck with an additional truck (so someone could get paid). Contents (my furniture and housewares) were untethered and bouncing around for hundreds of miles resulting in extensive damage to many priceless antiques as well. In the meantime, some pretty twisted employees actually ripped the heads off of vintage and valuable dolls, stole heirlooms, and broke incredibly more than could be imagined in such a move. The movers on this end stopped at precisely 5pm leaving furniture upended on the landing, walls dinged, floors gouged, and beds unassembled. The "Moving Success Team" was anything BUT! No one did anything despite NUMEROUS calls until I got the Better Business Bureau involved. read more

My daughter contracted Bellhop to move her from Wilmington to Cincinnati. When the truck arrive in Cincinnati the unloading crew did not show up. Bellhop kept telling us the crew were on their way. Super courteous, top-notch service. I needed a few pieces of solid wood furniture moved across town. Despite that the pieces were incredibly unwieldy and had to go up three flights of stairs, everything was moved without a scratch. The group of movers were mostly college age kids: they were hard-working, polite and attentive. After multiple calls with managers reassuring me that someone was coming, they never showed, then proceeded to charge my credit card for $380, $390 and a $43 deposit. We booked 3 movers for Sunday afternoon. No one showed up. It took multiple phone calls and almost 2 hours after the scheduled time to learn that each of the 3 movers had "no-showed" that day. The best this moving company could do for us was reschedule four days later, which obviously didn't help. We had to find some young men having a BBQ and pay them to come help us move our larger furniture into our house that we couldn't do by ourselves. Hopefully this was an extremely rare occurrence for this company, but be warned. This left us in quite a lurch. I also get the sense this is not actually a moving company, but one of those gig-systems where the workers are not employees but they just sign up to work like Uber or Lyft or whatever. read more

Absolutely unreliable!! They will let you schedule an appointment (on a day when ALL time slots are available), charge the full amount to your card, even send you a text with a QR code to show the movers when they arrive, then, at 4:30pm on the night before your appointment, they will cancel on you. This hasn't just happened once. I thought the first time was because of COVID, but now that it has happened a second time, I realize it's just that this company is horrible and incompetent. After being an expat for sometime and living in Alaska prior to being an expat my belongings were scattered at two different locations and needed to be picked up and brought to the new place.....but these guys were there to help me put the pieces together. Their communication was excellent from the moment I scheduled the moving date and time until the last box was brought in. They were extremely friendly and efficient in loading and unloading. Everything had to be brought up three flights of very steep steps in an old early 1900s building.....it was definitely a tough job, but they were able to push through it all while keeping a smile and being pleasant. Horrible experience with Bellhop Movers Cincinnati! I would give them 100 negative stars if I could to save your from what we went through with Bellhop and how they crapped on our move. Supposed to come at 2, I called at 2:30, again at 3:00, and again at 3:45. Turns out, one of the movers did not feel comfortable in our neighborhood (whatever, my 20 something kids have lived there for over a year without issue.) The problem was, NO ONE from customer services told me straight up that they were not coming nor why until after 4:00. They left me stranded on hold for more than 15 minutes the last time I called before I gave up. Had they let me know earlier in the day, or even the first time I called, I could have gotten another company. But by the time I called at 3:30, no other company was available. Called in family and friends from Louisville and got the truck loaded finally at 8:50 pm. A total disaster. Don't call Bellhop Movers for ANYTHING or you'll end up doing it yourself (and your friends may stop answering when you call--haha!) read more

I just moved the bulk of my possessions yesterday for an in-town move, and it could not have gone any better. I was notified a day or two before about my moving team members--Gunner and Sam--via email; the email even had their pictures, which was nice since you knew who to expect at your front door. Gunner was the captain of the team, and he was punctual. He even called a little bit before the scheduled time to let me know that he was on the way. Though the remainder of the team was a little late, Gunner did not let that deter him and just got started by himself. He loaded the majority of my stuff by himself within 30 minutes. 30 minutes! Once Sam got there, they tackled the bigger items right away. They might not be professional movers, but I was thoroughly impressed that they were able to get my huge sofa down a narrow staircase and tricky front doors (yes multiple) system without causing any damage. They had to reconfigure things a couple of times, but they were very cognizant of glass doorways or light fixtures that could potentially be damaged in the process. I estimated that the move would take 3 hours, but they finished everything within 1.5 hours. They were so efficient and did not really stop for breaks, which is the first time that I've seen this for movers. I was only charged for the time that they worked, so all was good. Their enthusiasm while they worked was a nice change of pace. Moving is already stressful, so it was just plain nice to have movers who were courteous while still enjoying their work. Bellhops aren't professional movers, but I didn't mind because I don't own any fancy items like armoires for fine china or pianos. If you do have fancy things, Bellhops may not be for you. If you just need a helping hand with your move, I cannot recommend Bellhops enough. I've been telling all my friends already, that's how good they are. read more

The guys that moved us were great and so sweet, however they should've sent like 4 people for the job! 2 guys to move a whole house was a terrible idea. It was only a 2 bedroom and we moved a ton before our moving date so it's not like it was an overwhelming amount of stuff... but it took over 8 hours and we still had to move/ we had to call other people over to help us. So $1200 and an entire day and we still had to move our own stuff/ recruit friends. And side note- our floors at our old house and new house were scratched. 100% not worth the money. The guys were so sweet, this is not a negative review for them at all- the company should've sent more help or taken money off our bill. 10/10 would not recommend. read more

However, they appeared to have no furniture moving training, were unprepared to move things as in wearing gym clothes which isn't good to move wood furniture in, they had no gloves and weren't very strong since I and a friend had to help them move simple things like recliners. In addition, they were late getting to my house after pick up of times and in total had to wait 30-45 minutes for them. I shared this with company rep via email- no response. I am a student and cannot afford a fancy shmancy movers service where you have to pay around 150$ for a min of 2 hours, and that's where bellhops is convenient. I wanted to move some furniture across the street and the Bellhops Doug and Yani made it look really effortless. Both were on time and moved all the furniture across the street in no time. The best thing about Bellhops is they charge you only for the time spent moving and hence that's super awesome. I used Bellhops for my 1 bedroom move from Nashville to Cincinnati--2 bellhops on each end. It was a really tight turn around, as I needed the first bellhops to finish in time for me to drive the Uhaul to meet the second bellhops. The movers were prompt and efficient. Both sets of bellhops were faced with intense rain and restrictive building access, but it did not slow them down; they figured out a plan to keep my items dry and get them inside as quickly as possible. These are college students, not professional movers, and they are quick and responsive to your feedback, so be sure to provide direction when needed. I heard about these guys from a friend whose daughter moved to Charleston, South Carolina. I planned to move my mom from Cincinnati to Columbus and really needed some help loading the truck. My only disappointment was that one of the two guys who was assigned to come showed up on time. It put a little extra burden on the solo guy til reinforcements showed up an hour and a half late. They were great kids. I appreciate the advance enail with their info so we knew who to expect. Bellhops is a terrific idea and I love the concept of supporting kids who are working hard to earn their way through college. They called 45 minutes out, showed up in time and they went right to work. They filled my 26 foot truck in less than 90 minutes!
