Had a great experience with Zackaree and Anthony today! They were both incredibly friendly and personable (they were even a hit with my dog)! They unloaded my 10 ft Uhaul in 35 minutes down steep basement stairs, record timing. They were very prompt and careful with my things. The night before, there was a slight glitch in that I accidentally only booked one mover and I had a few large pieces that definitely required 2 people. Zack was really helpful in nailing down Anthony to come assist just 12 hours in advance! Booking online was easy, and they were extremely reasonable compared to the other quotes I got, as they only charged for the labor and no other truck fees or minimum number of hours that other most other companies charge for. They had so much energy despite the stairs and truck parked down the street. They were so careful with my things and maximized the space in my moving truck. Jamol, Rathwaan, and Christian were so great helping my fiancé and I move furniture from my fathers home to our home. It went just as planned. I had never heard of bellhops but all their ads on Facebook looked very professional. I had called Monday to see if they had an opening on Saturday and they did! I was so thankful. Worst experience ever. Didn't come with the right moving equipment and I had called the day before to verify they would have dollies and furniture pads. Wasted 30 minutes after they showed up to go get the right equipment. They damaged several items. I have moved 4 times in the last 6 years and this is by far the worst experience I have had. Please beware. These are not professional movers. According to one of their own movers, they crammed my furniture onto the truck causing damaged furniture. Then when you make a claim, they will only reimburse your items at .71 a pound and will not acknowledge damage to your property. They are not BBB accredited. I made a reservation for Sep 3, 2016 11:00 AM. I get a call from bellhops that they would like to reschedule my move to 12:30. On the night before the move at about 9:00 PM, I get a call again and they said they would need to reschedule my move to 1:30. Finally on the day of actual move, only one guy shows up at 1:30 and I called the customer service and they mentioned that the other guy is 'not reachable'. I am moving into a 3BR apartment and hired a uhaul truck. With all the stuff in the uhaul truck we waited for a call from bellhops that they would send one more guy. But no call whatsoever from bellhops and the guy who showed up left as the stuff required two people to lift. It was a Saturday and being the long weekend it was hard to find movers that same day as it was already 2:30 in the afternoon. I was able to find movers from a different moving company for the next morning and due to the irresponsibility of the bellhops folks, I had to keep the uhaul for an extra day ($70.00). I would not recommend this company to anyone unless they can reschedule/plan/worry at the last minute. I agree they were cheap compared to rest, but it is definitely not worth the pain that my family had to go through at the last minute. I wanted to support this company as most of the employees are students and the money the customers pay will help them for their school. However they were totally disappointing and would not recommend bellhops to anyone. read more

Moving my daughter across country, I decided I needed some assistance. I priced one moving company and quickly decided they wanted too much and then I discovered their customer reviews were poor. Upon further investigation and reading more customer reviews, I decided BellHops might be just what I needed. Wow!!! They were fantastic and that is no understatement. I had a 16' moving truck filled with the furniture and accessories of a 1 bedroom apartment. They rapidly got to work, were exceptionally friendly, and very organized. They unloaded, we told them where to put it, and off they went for another load. They were finished with the job in a little over an hour, something that would have taken me and my daughter hours to do. I can't say enough good things about these guys. do not use this company!!!! I have moved 3 times in St. Louis and this was by far my WORST experience. They damaged every single piece of furniture I own as well as breaking my lamp and dishes. I just purchased all of my furniture within the last month so it was all in perfect condition and it totaled over $3,000. On top of that they took 6 hours to move a one bedroom apartment and charged me $600. This company is a scam!! Do not use them unless you want to spent 3 times as much money and have all of your stuff broken. They then reached out to me and offered me $300 for all of the damages which is a joke. They still charged me $600 for the move after I told them the work was unprofessional. All they did was tell me how I caused the move to be prolonged and how it was not their fault and that I need to pay for services. But somehow the other 2 times I've moved everything went smoothly, nothing was damaged and the entire move took under 2 hours. The people that work at this company are extremely unprofessional and unskilled to do the job. I would suggest using All Star Moving before this company ! Never left a bad Yelp review in my life but my move ended up being a nightmare. I reserved two Bellhops in Kansas City to load a truck with furniture and two Bellhops to unload in St. Louis. The loading went perfectly in KC and the bellhops were very professional and knew exactly what they were doing. I got a call about 30 minutes before my reservation in St. Louis to let me know that the only bellhop with any experience had cancelled and it was the other bellhop's first move. They assured me they would find a replacement quickly, but hours later I finally gave up and told them to send the other guy who they said could come at a moment's notice if I changed my mind and thought one unloader would be enough. They made some other excuse as to why he couldn't make it so I had no bellhops available for the two I reserved in advanced. The Kansas City bellhops sent me an email with profiles and contact information for the two Bellhops before the move which was nice for recognizing them the day of the move. I thought it was weird I didn't receive a similar email from St. Louis so they didn't seem as organized from the beginning. My dad ended up helping unload which is what I was trying to avoid with the physical labor. Even though I was never charged, the day was an overall disappointment. I will not be using bellhops in St. Louis again after my experience. read more

We hired this company to help us pack our uhaul before we moved cross country. They were on time, enthusiastic, hard working, and nice. They got all of our stuff moved in so fast and helped arrange our stuff so we most efficiently used our uhaul space. They made our move so much easier and faster. Be very careful if you are selecting Bellhop Movers in St Louis. Quoted six hours and took almost 12 hours for a very unprofessional crew to complete my 2400 sq foot move by 2am the next day. Never wrapped any of my furniture: 2 foot dent in my stainless steel fridge, used my furniture as step stool, mud on my office furniture, threw my golf clubs on the floor and that's just a fraction of the damage they caused to my house. Didn't set up any of furniture, appliances; dumped their moving supplies in my house and front lawn. Super classy operation. Two days later, still no resolution and manager won't call me to explain what happened when I have been extremely fair and considerate. Select someone else unless you are moving your dorm room furniture. read more

We needed assistance with an internal move to prepare for the arrival of our new baby. I looked into several other moving companies and none could match the pricing and flexibility of Bellhops. The company hires college students to help fill job requests as they arise. They had just a 1-hr minimum and billed by the quarter hour after that. The customer service representatives answered all of my questions prior to booking, and their email communications to confirm our reservation, inform us of who our Bellhops would be, and to verify the details of the job were user-friendly and informative. Our Bellhops - James and Dom(inic), were extremely punctual, respectful of our space, and thoughtful in their work. I was impressed by their ability to problem-solve (we live in a tall, narrow Victorian so moving things up and down the stairs can be extremely challenging) while moving a large desk to the third floor, and while maneuvering around a queen-sized bed in a small room to roll a carpet out underneath it. They jumped in and got right to work and finished in under an hour. They both said they enjoyed working for Bellhops and felt like it was an excellent way to help them make a little extra money. I would definitely use Bellhops again for any future help we need moving things in our home or in loading or unloading a moving truck. read more

I moved from Seattle to St. Louis and have used these guys a few times now and every time they have been great. They are always on time and courteous. One of my moves something was not tied down in the truck correctly which ended up damaging some of my belongings. I got in touch with one of their customer service and they took care of it right away and they replaced my broken items without giving me the run around. Disaster! On the day of the move the Captain was a no-show. Bellhops tried to find a substitute crew and at one stage suggested that I go and rent a U-Haul truck myself and do the move with only one person helping. This would not have worked. They then found another moving company (not bonded, and uninsured but what choice did I have?) who could do the move that afternoon and (luckily) all went smoothly after that. I had to pay the second moving company myself and I've yet to settle the financial side with Bellhops. Thank goodness it worked out in the end, but I could have done without the stress. To give them credit, Bellhops did their best to help me out, but the fact is that relying on students for the labor always carries more risk than using pros. I will never ever ever ever try to move on the cheap again, no matter how short the move. My advice: only use Bellhops if you are really on a very tight budget and don't have any other choice. read more
