We crossed the Arno and came upon this place. It seemed like there were some locals here, so we stopped in for appertivo. Good decision. We ordered beer and Bellinis and took a seat in the shade across from the Pitti Palace to cool off. The bread, olives, and cheeses were good, but there were these fried dough balls... Oh Em Gee. They were salt garlicky goodness. We asked to order a basket of them! We wound up with a nice charcuterie selection with those as part of it. 4 stars because they ran out of them. This place has one of the best views of the Pitti Palace and is in such a great location by the Arno River. The staff was so incredibly sweet! At first we stopped by just for drinks and they continued to give us free snacks ranging from peanuts and crackers to olives and bruschetta. After, we decided to get some food. The food here is pretty decent-- there are definitely better food places but I enjoyed the overall ambiance and the staff was just amazing. I would come here again just for the experience. read more

Although Bellini is definitely catered more toward tourists due to its location right outside Palazzo Pitti, my friends and I have enjoyed this comfortable and easy spot to eat enough to come back a second time! The boar pasta I had was delicious and filling, and my friend raved over the ravioli she had. The drinks are a little pricy for a cafe and the service is a little slow, but the staff is very nice and enjoyed being able to sit outside. read more

We wanted to eat somewhere on the other side of the Arno and close to the Pitti Palace, since we had just spent 2ish hours in there :) The service was so great! The wait staff was so kind to us and socialized with us which we really loved. We sat outside with misters #thankgod because it was HOT. We (my sister and I) split a bottle of prosecco, meat board, and tomato and arugula pizza. The portions were perfect. The meat plate was so yummy and the pizza was sweet and salty. Overall, the total was less than 50 euros. This was a great place to stop and chat with some locals. He gave us some tips on where to go and the way some things worked in Italy :) read more

Cafè Bellini had one of the best Florentine steaks I've had in the entire city. It was cooked a little more well-done than I am used to, but it was perfect. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the place, it had great music playing and friendly staff. Overall, I would recommend it to anyone looking good food and good scenery. read more

Absolutely disgusting service. One waiter is extremely rude and the other is a flirt and totally creepy. He kept trying to talk to us at our table and asking if we had boyfriends, we just wanted to have our drinks and not be bothered. After he found out one had a boyfriend he was so rude and told her she needs to be "careful". I also saw him looking at woman as they walked by on the streets and smiling at the other waiter it was so gross and my friends and I purposefully ignore that street now so we don't have to see him. We ate here twice. The first time was good. Pizza was delicious. The second time however the pizza seemed like it was from a completely different restaurant. One of the regular waiters is very nice while the other is pretty creepy. We only ate half of the pizza so we asked for the other half to go. It took about 10 minutes to get it boxed up and they decided to fold it in half and put it in a to go container, rather than in a pizza box which they had previously done the time before. We stopped here because we were hungry, and unfamiliar with the area. Turns out we should have done a bit more searching. The decor is cute, but the food is near terrible. Stale bread (which is almost rampant in our experience throughout Italy) started us off. We were given (spray) balsamic vinegar and oil, I guess for the bread because we didn't order salad but there were no plates so no dice. When our food came, my pesto dish was edible, but looked like someone had sprinkled green-can parmesean on top of the whole thing - really? The lady's risotto was more like rice-a-roni or rice and sauce, basically a watery blend of rice, broth, and mushrooms. Only reason that it didn't get one star is that I think that it's clean and we didn't get sick. read more

We came here after our visit to the Pitti Palace because we were hot and starving. My family didn't mind their meals, but my panzanella was almost inedible. I had been looking forward to having one of these salads while we were in Italy, but I didn't choose the right venue. The service was pleasant and the place was clean, but that's about it. By far the worst meal that I've ever had in Florence. My friend and I were looking for an outdoor spot near Palazzo Pitti and we decided to come here because everything else was full. My friend ordered the Mushroom Risotto which was horrible and had mushrooms from a can. I ordered the Penne Sorrentino and it was crunchy! I do NOT by any means mean Al Dente. I tried another 2-3 bites to make sure it wasn't a random hard piece of pasta, but no, it was crunchy pasta. I asked the server if I could have a new order but cooked more because it was inedible. He then told me, "This is how the Italians eat the pasta" I said, "No, this is raw pasta, it is not cooked enough" and he insisted I didn't understand how Italians eat pasta. I then said to him in ITALIAN that I live in Florence and I know how Italians eat pasta and I'd like it cooked more. He was annoyed but took it back and when he brought the new pasta to me, it was exactly the same. This place is pathetic. read more

Greeted by a happy, pretty Italian girl with a big smile. No tables available so we were given a glass of Prosecco & waited 5 min. Waiter was kind & helpful. Tartufo was fabulous & fresh. Salads were wonderful. Gelato was flavorful. No complaints & would definitely go back. read more
