My family has gone to Bello Opticians for glasses and contacts for over 20 years. It's a family owned business and it shows in the high level of customer service. Nick is superb, his son, daughter, and other customer reps are great - knowledgeable, friendly, fast, and a great value. I walked in recently with a broken nose pad on my primary glasses and a chewed up template tip on a pair of sunglasses (my dog). I hoped to get them back in a week or so. Anthony found spare parts and fixed both on the spot. No charge. Granted, I'm a good customer but I would have happily paid for the repair. Bello's does get busy at times but that's not surprising for a shop rated as Worcester's Best Optician for multiple years. I highly recommend! read more

Dr Vinny was very excellent and did a thorough eye exam. He's a very polite and kind gentleman who gently gets to know and respect his clients. Heidi offered excellent choices for fitting my face with appropriate glasses and she even found out that I was covered by an additional insurance plan that gave me a better discount for being an employee of a certain organization.the prices are very decent and the frames choices range from free to Tiffany!!! they treat the clients poorly, kind of derogatory. I ordered glasses and paid it full in advance. A month after the order I went to the place because they didn't call me to tell me that were ready. The glasses were there but they made a mistake when the order was placed and I had the wrong glasses. Now I need to wait another month to get my order ready again. read more

There is a reason Bello Opticians has poor reviews on Google, City Search, and Yelp plus many others review sites. They do not have a customer concept. Absolute worst experience I have ever had. Went for eye exam - nice guy, seems caring, but was an hour late getting in that day.... hmmmm. said he had not slept well. Went to shop for glasses, have a great eye plan from work. I am called "hon" from the owners son, who looks and acts stoned - they are all talking back and forth about the Madonna concert and how much it cost them to go.... excuse me, I'm right here.... stop talking to each other and show me glasses. The kid working with me is critical of every choice I make.... finally, he advised me to come back when they have new choices from a show they went to. When I return I am assisted by the owner - again- the shop is like a circus... no real connection with me. He starts going through the store and gathering random glasses. Critical of my choice... I'm too old for some glasses apparently. He goes over my package for the Lafont Glasses I chose - lenses, frames - tries to upsale me to way more than I need for no real reason. Add-ons, I select transitional lenses. Time to pick up glasses - I say to young kid, is the optomitrist available... "No he's with a patient", Why?" I reply "I just wanted to thank him for the thorough exam and follow up with the headache question he had." He then tells me to go on in his office - the guy has no patient, he is just sitting there... lied to, really? When I realize my lenses are NOT transitional - I call, the owner says "Oh that's okay, we never charged you for them, If you want that, just come in and pay and we'll add them." The total price for my glasses was over 1000.00 - I paid 400.00 out of pocket expecting all the features we spoke about. Now it will cost MORE to have the glasses he told me I would get? He keeps citing that it is human error... I bet if I had dropped and stepped on a pair of frames in that store I would not be able to excuse myself with "human error" as my excuse - I would have been charged for them. He is so condescending and belittling on the phone I am now fuming mad. If he told me for this amount you will get these frames, these lenses, and tansitional lenses, that is what I should be wearing. If he made an error in getting it all down, it's would be up to the shop to absorb that cost. This ended up feeling like a SCAM place. The owner asked me if I could see with my new glasses, and If I liked the frames, I said yes. So I guess that he is happy with a customer that is only 50 percent happy, I was not happy with the missing transitional lenses or service. I have already gotten loads of compliments on the glasses, but each time I tell my BELLO NIGHTMARE STORY where I work only 2 miles from their front door, and am face to face with over 100 people daily... and I will the entire time I wear them and beyond. I was the first appointment of the day and the optometrist was a bit late, but everything else made up for it! Lots of mags and even a Frank Sinatra bio book! Once the doctor arrived, he was really friendly, totally apologetic and so easy to talk to! Afterwards, Heidi sorted out my insurance information and in the meantime, attended to others -- everyone there is really outgoing, friendly, helpful and honestly just seems to love being there! I am looking forward to my yearly visits! read more

This place is okay. It is a nice business with friendly staff, but I agree with other yelpers when they say that the wait times can be a little long. I have been comming here for my glasses for the last 4 years, and think I end up waiting 30-40 minutes every time I have an appointment. Anyway, its not a big deal because it seems that all doctors end up making me wait regardless of the kind of doctor. Anyway, I think that Bello Opticians can benefit from my review as well as others on this site and maybe improve their waiting time because my time is valuable too. read more

Nick is a master of all things optical! I stopped in last week with a pair of glasses I had gotten elsewhere and Nick was immediately able to identify an issue with the fit. He took my frame, did his magic and I was immediately able to see the difference in the quality of my vision. I didn't even know I wasn't seeing the best I could through the frame and lenses I was already wearing. Everyone in the store was friendly, polite and helpful. Bello Opticians has served my family of eight for over fifteen years. I have worn glasses for 49 years. The first pair of lenses Nick ground for me made me feel like I had never had a decent pair of glasses in my life before Bello's! Always at the cutting edge of frame style and, more importantly, lens technology, Bello Opticians is the place to go for great glasses in Worcester. Some people on these reviews complain about service and environment of the shop, but I say it is a wonderful family-owned local business that is a welcome relief from cookie-cutter chains. I Went in for my 2 year eye exam, and to order new glasses (to the tune of $412.00) and once I was measured, and fitted for new frames & lenses, and paid a deposit, I was asked if I wanted my current eyeglasses cleaned. I said "sure, why not"..they handed me back my glasses, and BOTH lenses are severely scratched, with what looks like prison bars up & down on both lenses. When I went to them, and told them they had scratched them terribly, they totally denied it, and told me there was NO way their ultra-sonic machine could do any damage. I SWEAR, the lenses were NOT scratched when I walked in there, but were SO bad, when I left, that I can barely see straight out of them. I called Bello, told them to CANCEL my new glasses order, told them I wanted my prescription, and also wanted my deposit back. I must've been called M'am a dozen or more times by spiked hair guy (Nick) who still refused to admit it was their machine that scratched the hell out of my glasses. He didn't seem to care (at all) that he'd just lost a current (repeat) customer. I would NOT recommend them to anyone, even if you're completely desperate, go to Walmart instead!! At least you'll get decent Customer Service. read more

This place is fabulous. I had a wonderful time with the indian girl that was helping me pick out my lovely pair of frames with heels on the tips! The selection of frames is phenomenal! Any one who goes into this optical will have no trouble finding a pair of frames they love! The only issue I had was when I was checking out, a different girl with glasses helped me and she was not too friendly and was not too friendly over the phone either. Just a quick tip: regardless of what you may be going through, put on a smile because we want to come back! Otherwise I love Bellos! Thanks for my new look! read more
