Parking is across the street at the Walmart lot, it's an easy walk. Restrooms and water are available in the store. The course is on a hill in an otherwise unused city park. Tees are not always clearly marked, but most have a blue stake. Baskets are permanent and fixed. There are multiple course routes or make up your own. The best one was provided by a regular user who lived in the neighborhood. It's well planned out and fun. The park provides shade, but it's mostly scrub land and very hot in the summer (prepare with ample water, sunscreen, etc.). Plant life is a lot of briars and sharp scrub. Some tees run along side ditches with more sharp plants and dry wood, be careful not to get cut. The course had a good number of people using it and everyone was friendly and welcoming. If you come prepared, it's a fun course.

My husband brought me to this beach back in the day when our girls were young. Its kid friendly for sure, lots of families come with their youngsters and stay for a couple hours and go. Lots of retired couples come here as well. We used to be able to rent kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. I don't know when they stopped doing it, but that was fun. Sometimes there's a lifeguard on duty, but not all the time. What I love watching are the planes taking off. It gets really busy watching them line up and take off, sometimes the military cargo planes and jets take off too. I usually know when its time to leave without looking at a watch because the mainland flights start leaving around 1p or so. There are 2 showers in the bathroom and its usually clean and never have to wait for them. Vending machines are outside the bathrooms or you can barbecue and picnic. Sometimes when the rest of the island is experiencing rain showers and clouds, this is the only beach where I can count on to be sunny

There is also a boat launch. - There are a few picnic tables around to sit and eat. - There are fish in the water. We saw them. - Fishing license and park entry permit is only $6 for military and residents, for a whole year. Out of the 12 people with lines in the water, NO ONE caught anything. We were trying all kinds of lures, spinners, bait, etc., during multiple times of the day. Nothing. We met a few other people who had fished there a lot more than we had, and none of them had ever caught anything. Not so great for kids who want to catch something when they fish. - Park opens at 7am. If you want to fish before sunrise, you better find another part of the lake. Bottom Line: I don't think I'll go here again unless I go with a guide, someone who knows the lake VERY well. Since everything is catch and release at this lake, the fun is in the catching, and everyone we ran into that day have never caught anything!

I search the requirement to play there and it states since 2020 VHIC enable me and my guest to play. I had played Kaneohe Klipper a couple years ago which also requires me to go to the check point building with my guest and allowed us to play there. So...WTF this MP is talking about? We left and went to the Navy Marine course that was off base a few miles away. Got on to pay in half an hour. Can't describe this course condition but Navy Marine course was great. Played there 3 times last year and 3 times this year. Who knows how many customers the MP are turning away. Got a phone message saying "I missed my tee time and did I forgot about it." Tried calling back at the phone number provided and the phone was not in service. I even searched and found "active service personnel number to call", to play and that was not in service. MP should update their knowledge of what Vets with VHIC card privileges are! Quite disappointed! Sorry for the bad review but if no matter if Mamala Bay course is a Championship Golf Course many are not able to see or play it.
