Parking is across the street at the Walmart lot, it's an easy walk. Restrooms and water are available in the store. The course is on a hill in an otherwise unused city park. Tees are not always clearly marked, but most have a blue stake. Baskets are permanent and fixed. There are multiple course routes or make up your own. The best one was provided by a regular user who lived in the neighborhood. It's well planned out and fun. The park provides shade, but it's mostly scrub land and very hot in the summer (prepare with ample water, sunscreen, etc.). Plant life is a lot of briars and sharp scrub. Some tees run along side ditches with more sharp plants and dry wood, be careful not to get cut. The course had a good number of people using it and everyone was friendly and welcoming. If you come prepared, it's a fun course.

We went on a Monday and couldn't get a tee time until 2:00 because of an earlier tournament. The weather was a beautiful overcast day where we didn't have to worry about sunscreen. The 13th and 14th holes were along the coastline with views that make playing here worth it. The greens were super slow on this day and you could easily lose your ball in the rough, but it was a very enjoyable day with close friends. I will patiently wait for another chance to play there.

Accuracy is the name of the game at Kaneohe Klipper although it can help if you are are long hitter as some greens are pretty wide. But bring extra balls as if you hit OB it can be hard to track down your ball. The views on 13th are breath taking and its probably one of the best views on a golf course. Those three things alone keep me coming back. Don't let the price fool you though. This course can be a real challenge. There are hazards everywhere, and it definitely rewards accuracy over power. If you can consistently play well here, you'll probably find a lot of other courses feel much easier by comparison. The course isn't perfect, but it's a fantastic place to sharpen your game without spending a fortune. Whether you're practicing or just looking to get a round in after work, Pali is a solid choice and one I'll keep coming back to.

Somehow Pali Golf Course is the one he wants to go to the most. I came along as a rider (no charge; cart fee $26) yesterday and I could see why. 90% of the course's aesthetics has nothing to do with design and all credit to Mother Nature. It's always so lush and green. I'd imagine it's constantly cool and breezy coz of its strategic valley-ish location. The "amenities" definitely look their age (50+ years old). There is no snack bar, just one vending machine. There is a pro shop but limited hours; it was closed when we were there. Bathrooms are clean, with soap and paper towels, even the one by the 3rd and 15th tee boxes. The road though... so many potholes. It was just us two for our 9:18 tee time. The very friendly lady behind the check-in window was super kind and helpful and encouraging to the kid. She warned us it was a busy day, which we found out later probably meant the pace of play would be slow. Took approx 5 hours for all 18 holes, and only coz the trio in front of us very kindly and warmly invited the kid to play with them ("we have to wait anyway might as well wait together!") It's a very no-frills course. Minimally staffed as well, and most that I've seen are middle-aged or older. Most groups use the cart but I have seen a few use pushcarts. Seems like a rather hardcore course! Also kinda scary when errant balls can come from any direction because the holes snake from 1st to 18th. (I heard someone tell "Fore!" coz their ball curved so much to the right.) It was windy yesterday. I packed a jacket and blanket for my legs and for sun protection. I also packed snacks. Fortunately there are trash cans throughout the course, so there wasn't too much litter, most of which were smashed tees.

It was peaceful and the pace was a bit slow but everyone was courteous of others. My husband (the actual golfer in this relationship) said he thought it was only alright for the price you pay. He said it's beautiful scenery but they don't do a good enough job sainting the greens. I will say, it also poured down that day. If it wasn't for us arriving after the storm passed, they would've rescheduled us. We paid: $200 per golfer $80 to be a rider $80 rental $30 ball rental $100 Royal Hawaiian golf shirt $60 per golf hat They had a two person per golf cart policy. So if you're a single rider and it's a busy day you might be paired up. The golf cart was nice because it told you how far your in yardage your ball was, it had Bluetooth to play music from your phone, and a GPS. The course is huge so these were all great functions that added to the experience. ALSO, There was tons of wildlife throughout the course that we took pictures of!!!! If you loose your balls you're cooked, it's literally like golfing in the jungle. Overall, we'll check out another golf club whenever we go back. We had fun, but it was good for a one time visit.

The fairways are narrow, there are drop-offs everywhere, and accuracy is absolutely critical. Bring your A-game because if you're slightly off the tee, you'll be searching for golf balls all day. I would strongly recommend bringing extra balls because this course can be unforgiving. What makes the challenge worthwhile is the breathtaking scenery. The course is surrounded by lush mountains and tropical landscape that make every hole feel amazing. If you're looking for a challenging round of golf in one of the most scenic settings in Hawaii, Royal Hawaiian should definitely be on your list. I'll be back soon.

The clubs look like a selection from garage sales. The telescoping children's clubs wouldn't lock in place and kept sliding open. The holes were portable greens, snapping together with metal locks. They were tiny and boring. One course was broken and flipped up in the middle when I stepped on it. I didn't fall but it was a close call. The entire space is TINY. For what they're offering their prices are ridiculous. Even with validation we had to pay $3 for parking. Three people (one being a toddler they charged $10) came out to $35 and change with the option to tip!

There were two teams playing at a time so parking was not a challenge. Yelp directions won't bring you directly to the field or parking so just exit, go right and find your way to the accurate spot. Luckily I didn't need to use the restroom but those spectators who needed had to walk far as no restrooms set up like Salt Lake District Park.
