It's an old school drive up and the waitress came out to meet us. The best thing about this place was the service. We both had the Texas burger. He got fries and I got tots. Everything came wrapped. Burger was served on cheap white bread not a bun. Pattie was flavorless and super greasy. Plenty of mustard though. Both fries and tots were so greasy there was oil in the bottom of The paper boat! Also, they tasted like old oil. Gross. Threw $20 bucks in the trash. This place must be on life support. Living on its legacy of " open since 1963". Don't waste your time or money. read more

Amazing old fashioned burgers. Painfully slow, unfortunately I've had drive away twice after waiting 45 mins+. It shouldn't take that long for a single burger and a chicken finger basket. Service is unbelievable, not in a good way. Really wish I was able to give a negative star. We ordered at 9:30 in the morning for a noon pickup. Arrived at 12 noon sharp at 1 PM still waiting for food. Car hop couldn't give me any idea of how much longer it was going to take. I would have left along time ago but the food was prepaid for. Maybe it was busy you might ask.....two other cars beside me. Must have been a rush huh One hour and 35 minutes the car hop comes out to tell me that my order has been accidentally cancelled and she was sorry That was it! I have no idea why she told me that everything was being made from scratch when the order was for two hamburgers and one salad!!! I don't find myself in Balch Springs much but a client in Mesquite raved about Bells so I had to check it out. Old school drive in place with a Kellers feel to it just on a smaller scale. I ordered the Double Texas Burger w cheese and it was excellent. Thick Pattie's perfectly cooked so that it was juicy but not so juicy you end up wearing it. Fries were tasty too, could have used a little salt and pepper. I'll definitely be back. read more

Bell's Better Burgers... Well today they weren't better but it wasn't the worst neither. When you make the trip to Balch Springs just know this is a real hole in the wall. The outside is old and kind of run down and so was the menu that didn't have pricing which would've been cool but no worries lol. The server was this nice lady that was good at her job and made it easy. I ordered the texas double with chili cheese fries. Now my burger was alot on the burned and crispy side which was not a good thing because it wasn't the kind of tasty burn you want. More of a accidental burn but ill serve it to you anyway type of burn lol but I've been here before and they were pretty on point. The chili cheese fries were nothing to brag about either but made for a pretty picture lol but the chili tasted straight from a can and the fries could've used some more time in the fryer. I like bells and have been here a few times but the past couple they have seen better days. Will I come back probably not for a while, do I want to come back yes but maybe give them some time to get back on track. First off, let me start by saying my husband and I had to wait a good 45 minutes before we even got our food during the course of waiting the waitress left the premises to get a bag of ice by the time she finally returned and served us our food The onion rings and fries were cold I sent the food back and asked if we could get hot food when she returned with the order a good 20 or 30 minutes later It was worse than when I sent it back the first time there wasn't hardly any lettuce on the burgers. We asked for grilled onions which we did not get. I asked for mayo my husband asked for mayo and mustard neither burger had either the buns and fries were super greasy and the food was still cold.I asked for a banana shake. She stated the shake machine was down. My husband asked for fried pickles which she stated they were also out of and just took it upon her self to give my husband fries instead of asking him first if he would like something different, this order was $36, I spoke with the waitress and explain to her my disappointment with the order, and showed her exactly how the food came to us at this point l asked for a total refund of everything we ordered. I was so disappointed that we waited the whole experience and food sucked. I would not encourage anyone to try this establishment. I definitely believe management needs to get involved. This is a throw back drive in burger joint. I go there when I am in the area. There is literally no better old fashioned burger in the metroplex. I met the 2nd generation owner and he told me they are still using the same grill that opened the place in the sixties and you can tell. The burgers are wonderful, taste just like the burgers you used to get all over. Great taste, fresh veggies and layered in melted cheese, I have to order the single Texas burger now but the double was always my favorite. I've been eating here for years and...I do love their food! No sit down service, well...you can sit in your car!! It's drive up, someone comes out to your car (old school car hop style) you order and you can stay there in the car or take away. The food has always been consistently good, and my favorite is the steak fingers. I do have to say they used to be larger and over the years they've shrunk, but they are still as tasty as ever, but they really do need to be larger...I got some today and one of them is the size of my pinky finger, so a bit disappointed with that. They do have fried pickles, which are a little greasy but also really, really tasty. The chicken strips are really good too! Unless you are really looking for this place, you will probably drive right by it. It is near a busy intersection and there are a lot of nearby businesses. There isn't much parking, but that is ok. It seems that most customers phone in orders, then pick up. I will definitely try that next time! This place is a drive-in, not drive thru. You pull up into a parking spot and someone comes over to take your order. The cooks in the kitchen, whom you can see from your car, get working on your order. The menu is decent sized. They have burgers, chicken strips, steak fingers, fish, chili (frito) pie, shakes, etc. The hubs got the Texas burger which is a 1/2 pound burger, my nugget got the kids sized chicken strips, and I got the chili pie. Everyone liked their food, it seemed really fresh. We took our food home, but you can eat there in your car, they have those trays that hook on your window. We went on a week night and in the time it took us to order and get our food, they served about 10 customers. Most were call-ins. Like I said, next time that is what we are doing since it took quite a while to make our food. It is hard to complain when it tastes so fresh. read more

Cheap greasy meat on the cheeseburger. Nub French fries. The longest one was maybe an inch. No lettuce on the burger and the tomato was so thin you could have read the newspaper through it. I had just recently received food the night before. It was about $28 including tip, my father's food was okay but that's about it aside from the fact he was short handed on the fries. The burger I ordered was still pink in the middle and the burger was soggy. The chicken strips were well over cooked and were placed directly onto the foam where it burned through. Mind you the strips were for my 2 year old and burnt styrofoam is toxic. The toast was placed under all the food so it was squished. No napkins or even ketchup. By the time I made it home and realized all this the establishment was closed. I called the following day to see what could be done about it. I was polite as I talked to two different workers till the end of the conversation when i was told nothing will be done about it and to just write a review on Google like everyone else does. Their were no apologies or anything just straight disrespect, I was treated like it was my fault. You don't treat paying customers let alone people like that period. Understocked on their main ingredient which is hamburger meat. Most of the staff were working unhygienicly, as in no gloves, no hair net and only one person wearing a face mask. Overall this place practices bad business and even worse customer service. I refuse to eat there again and will be informing more then Google about the situation, my family has been coming here for at least 7 years and have now lost loyal customers. read more

I frequently visit Bell's whenever my husband I feel like sitting in the car talking and relaxing. This family-owned stand is quite a nice surprise once you set aside your concerns of the overall atmosphere in the general area. Clearly marked menu on either side of the parking lot...The menu includes several types/sizes of burgers, generous quantity of French fries and other sandwiches, tacos (your average Tex-Mex taco), and maybe a fried pie or two...they even have milk shakes; although I've never had one. The menu range is very inexpensive; burgers are made to order; I've never had an issue with their food. The nice thing is, you can park under the port which comes in handy on very sunny/hot afternoons or on rainy days!! Just pull in a and park and a car hop will come and take your order! The overall clientale ranges from kids (on bikes) to senior citizens and everyone in between. You can even call your order in. They accept credit cards!!! I don't know about personal checks though... The onion rings are made on the premises, I think...they sure taste homemade... I don't think they offer salads...this isn't a place you would consider if you are seriously counting calories and cholestrol...but hey, every now and then, we all should indulge!! Though the area may look a little rough and there are pot holes in the parking lot, it's never gotten in the way of our enjoyment...they close at 9pm on most days and are closed Sundays. read more

Second, it has a small town feel-from the hand painted menu board to the obvious regulars that are there. Third, I just love drive-ins. All of those were checked off on the plus side of the ledger. The food, however, was rather bland. The fries had no seasoning that I could taste. The onion rings were ok- but again not much seasoning. The burger, to be fair,was pretty good-but nothing you can't get at a multitude of places around the metroplex. This place is an unassuming dump on the side of the road with major construction happening (on the road). It's definitely not a place I would normally choose, but based on the reviews and it's proximity to my job, I had to give it a shot. The menu is painted on some wood on a fence straight ahead of the wide carport. You drive right in to the carport and someone will come out to take your order. The server came out just as I was trying to figure out how to order. She was pleasant and offered suggestions since it was my first visit. I declined the Texas burger because it would have been far too much meat, and went for the regular burger with cheese and all the usual fixings along with fries and a drink. As I waited for my food (which definitely took longer than the standard drive-through), I wondered what the health score of this place would be. I decided not to think too hard and simply judge this place on taste alone. The burger was very good. You could tell it was fresh and made to order and it was definitely worth the wait. The fries were nothing special, but I can deal with that. I would DEFINITELY recommend this place and I will definitely return and bring a friend. 4 stars simply because the fries were run-of-the-mill. read more
