Attention Director in charge, At 11:20am this morning I requested our records with Bells Ferry Veterinary Hospital be removed as we no longer wish to do business with BFVH. I spoke with Shannon. We have had numerous occasions of sub-par customer service and can no longer tolerate being cared for by BFVH. Our complaints include: * allowing us to adopt a cat while knowing the cat did not socialize well with other cats * no rehoming assistance when we brought the matter to your attention * overinflated charges on a quote/invoice regarding a health certificate * Changing the name on the account to our son, whereas the request was applicable for one cat only * Changing the name on the account again but adding one of our deceased dogs name as my middle name * I requested a quote to euthanize one of our pets without indicating which one and an assumption by BFVH was made instead * as at 6:30pm our account is still active on Otto. This vet clinic is absolutely fantastic! We just moved here and were looking for a vet to do the annual checkup for our 2 cats. The moment we came in the staff was extremely welcoming and nice. After sitting in the lobby filling out some paperwork the staff saw that dogs were going to come in and asked me if I wanted to move with the cats into a separate room so they wouldn't get stressed out over the dogs. The tech (I didn't hear if her name was Lori or Laura) was extremely sweet after entering the room. She knew just how to get my cats feel comfortable and was very patient in getting them when they were hiding. She was also very nice to me when asking all the questions and reassured that any answers I didn't know off hand were no problem. The vet, Dr. Miller, was equally sweet. She came in after she examined them both to go over all the findings. She gave me tips, listened to my concerns and gave a lot of advice without ever trying to sell me anything that they sell in the clinic. My cats came in pretty anxious (which animal likes the vet, right?) but came out as if they had a spa day!! And that after both getting shots etc. So happy I found them! read more

If you are looking for the best vet care money can buy, look no further. I was referred here by a friend after a very unpleasant experience at a franchise vet that starts with "Ban". When I called initially and explained what was going on with my beloved snootus (a UTI), they gave me a run down of what to expect, the cost associated with said treatment plan, and when I could come in. Upon arrival, it was EXACTLY the way they told me it would be. I parked, they came out w paperwork, I returned the paperwork (placed in a basket out front), and they came and got my dog. Smooth, simple and easy. The vet called and shared her thoughts on what to do for Pollock as her treatment. Dr. Miller is a consummate professional and doesn't make you feel stupid for asking about her course of action. She took plenty of time with me, and didn't make me feel like a criminal for saying that I couldn't afford a ton of money or a bunch of return trips to the vet. I paid (less than I paid for a similar set of tests and meds at my previous vet), and left feeling like this place cares about me and my dog. At the end of the day, that is what's important -- that people REALLY CARE about the choice you make to bring your animals here. I took my bearded dragon here since I moved away from the area with her usual vet. Everyone was extremely nice and accommodating, but the doctor didn't seem to know much about what she was talking about. I'm no expert, but as a long-time beardie owner, I can safely say that beared dragons don't absorb water through their skin, don't shed their skin all in one large piece, and that high humidity isn't very good for them-- all things the doctor told me were true. They also gave me a carnivore critical care mixture and told me it was a complete diet for my beardie. She is an omnivore, not a carnivore, and needs 80% vegetables to 20% protein.... She would die if I only fed her what they gave me as a complete diet for an extended amount of time. To make matters worse, I waited two weeks for a call about her stool sample results. I thought that maybe they were busy and forgot to call, so I called them and they told me they lost the sample and that I need to drive all the way there again and bring a bag of her feces. This may be a wonderful clinic for other animals, but if you are looking for bearded dragon care, I do not recommend JCVC. read more

We took a baby raccoon to Bells Ferry Veterinary Hospital and when I called to check on it the lady was rude and said she couldn't give me an update after the person in the beginning had said we could check on him and that they also do updates on their Facebook page (which they don't). When I called back they transferred me to someone named Shannon who said she was the office manager but was extremely rude and refused to let me speak. She literally yelled over me and when I asked if I could speak, she told me no. I know almost all of the other wildlife rescues put updates on their pages for the community and it seems really suspicious that they have no transparency or interest in sharing the wildlife rescues with the community who actually cares enough to bring them in. My daughter has worried, asked talked about himmso much since we dropped him off; she said "we'll never know what happene?!?" after I got off the phone. I definitely won't go back to Bells Ferry Veterinarian Hospital, they may not even be taking care of the animals and just euthanizing them...very shady. read more

Very disappointed in the practice. My 19 year old cat passed away and my 15 year old cat was diagnosed with diabetes within a week. Was told Dr would call me in the morning, ends up the Dr wasn't even in that day! I'm trying to talk to Dr to begin insulin treatment and no return calls. Do you not trust this practice with your pets. My dog had a broken leg and they put him in multiple splints that resulted in breaking his leg more leading to surgery after four weeks of telling me he was "healing well". To make matters worse, after healing from his surgery we went back for a check up appointment because he was still limping and they told us that he had now torn his ACL after taking x-rays and seeing fluid in his knee. They referred us to a surgical practice AGAIN and after our consultation, this practice let us know that his ACL was not torn at all and that it was in fact a lower back sprain. The people are nice at this vet, however they do not have any knowledge of proper treatment or injuries. They will charge you a ton with no valid answers read more

I called 3 other places before I called them, no one else would see my mouse, but they did. They were very gentle and caring for my mouse, as most places would not be for such a pet. They treated her and gave her the best care. A little over a week ago my mouse passed away. They were so sweet during the entire process, and made me clay paw prints of her and a fur token. I can't imagine any other place doing this for my mouse. They care for all animals, and this meant a lot to me. They even sent me a condolence card in the mail after she passed. I have been taking my dog to see Dr. Miller for a few years now. We really adore her as she is extremely smart, but also so sweet to our dogs. She gets on the floor with the dogs so they don't feel uncomfortable on the table. She also takes plenty of time to sit with me and discuss any concerns I might have regarding my dog. I never feel like she is in a hurry to leave, yet we also never wait long there either. I recently moved from Acworth down to Atlanta, but drove 40 minutes just to have our new puppy spayed and seen by Dr. Miller since we trust her so much. The icing on the cake is the front office staff and vet techs. They always help with whatever I need, whenever I need it. This was my first time there and the Vet didn't even introduce themselves before taking my 7 week old puppy to the back. The owner is even worse. (Ok, I feel like I give out way too many 5 star reviews, but then think that I really have to like the places to keep going back so 5 stars it is!) I have been taking my dog here since she was a puppy (and thats almost 13 years ago!) The staff is always friendly and nice and seem to care about the animals. Jasmine, my dog, is always stubborn about getting on the scale so they coaxed her up with a treat one time and then got her weight. They also know that she whines and cried when they take her away from me while she is there (what can I say, the dog loves me) so they always try to be gentle and calm with her and get her back to me ASAP. They have good doctors here and one of them even practices non-traditional medicine (which is actually kind of cool) for animals. Kennesaw has a regrettable lack of trustworthy veterinary hospitals, and Bells Ferry Veterinary Hospital is no exception. Although I am not invalidating other Pet Parents' positive experiences with the staff at BFV, I feel morally obliged to warn other Pet Parents of MY experience. I took my cat to BFV for dry, flaky paw pads. At the end of the visit, I was given a topical ointment and an NSAID painkiller. BOTH medications say, on the label "For Dogs Only", upon more research, it is NOT approved in the US for use on cats and is specifically not recommended for use on cats by the manufacturer. After using these medications, my cat's condition worsened considerably, and seemed to spread to her ears. Again- the ointment prescribed is usually for dogs EARS, and after administering BFV's prescribed dose to her paws, she broke out in a horrible rash on her ears. When I brought my cat back and mentioned that the medicine was for dogs, the veterinarian, Dr. Temple, was BEYOND rude and refused to admit ANY error in the care disseminated in the first visit. Additionally, I waited over 50 minutes while BFV had my pet in the building, and was not informed when they began to clean her ears and paw pads, and had to call them to remind them that my pet was still in their possession. On the phone, Dr. Temple recommended I see another veterinarian (an admission of being under qualified?) and promised to release the notes she took over the course of my cat's care. When my cat was brought out I was told they would be "unable" to provide the vet's notes as it is "private medical information", which made no sense, as I am the pet's owner (also, does HIPAA even apply to vets office records?) and told me if I wanted to see the vet's notes I would need a "court order"- again, another lie. I was able to procure the papers regardless, and fully intend on reporting this business to the Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine and the Better Business Bureau. I would recommend, especially if you are a Cat owner, to avoid Bells Ferry Veterinary Hospital at ALL COSTS! They do NOT care about your animal, they just want your money. read more

I took my new puppy, Carly, here for her 2nd round of puppy boosters (she got her first round from the breeder). They were all so nice to her, she didn't even whine when they did the internal parasite test (which they do by sticking somthing up her butt!)!! The people there are very friendly, very knowledgeable and very loving with the animals, from what I can tell. It was our first visit, and since we were new customers, we got some free stuff... which I don't think anyone will complain about! We got our first month of Frontline (Flea & tick medicine), our first month of Heartguard (heart worm meds), a sample of puppy food (that they sell there) and a Kong toy! Let me just tell you, those things are AWESOME. Stick a little peanut butter inside and your dog is happy for at least an hour! When my brother and I got our other dog, Jasmine, we took her here as well, and she's been going ever since (since 1997!). I'd highly recommend this place for your pet needs! They also sell collars and leashes here that have a lifetime guarantee on them. If your dog chews it up, you just bring it back to them (what's left of it, anyways) and they will give you a brand new one! Nice! read more
