I absolutely love the doctors and staff here . They really, really, really care about your pet and the pet parents. No detail is too small. They spend so much time making sure that the information/ procedure that they are giving is understood and made as simplistic as possible for the pet owner, so that our pets receive the best possible medical, physical and emotional support and care. If I did n't realise this before , I got to see it in action today. My fur baby Ziggy ( who has had several procedures here) was suppose to be escorted into the vet centre by 'his nurse' . As someone who works in clinics I have never once seen an office ask for an estimate before. I can only imagine it's so they can charge you for an extra visit. The only reason I went to this animal clinic was because my mother talked me into it. I had a pretty bad past experience with them 10 years ago, due to their inability to treat my dog for a skin condition. I went back as my mother insisted, and I honestly regret it. They don't keep up with the records; they ask me the same questions that they already have on record. They have charged me $40 for a bottle of arthritis medication, and I only received 14 syringes filled with 1.5. This clinic has been open for a very long time, and I think they forgot the reason they opened. An hour later, I went to a different new vet clinic, and I was able to get a whole bottle of arthritis medication for my dog for the same amount. Additionally, they were going to charge me $160 for bloodwork to check my dog's kidneys and liver. I paid $60 at the other vet. Plus, they wanted to do bloodwork for a senior check if they looked at my documents; I just had that blood work done in December 2023. It was a horrible experience with this clinic, but it turned out to be a blessing at the same time due to finding a better clinic that does not overcharge, keeps up with paperwork, and does not do unnecessary tests that were previously done. read more

I brought my cat in for a required rabies shot. They suggested I also give her a distemper shot and I agreed. My cat was perfectly fine and healthy went she went in for the shots. When I got her back, she was listless, lethargic, and had no appetite. I read that this can be a side effect of the distemper shot for a few days. But this went on for several WEEKS. She would not eat, she had no energy, she barely moved. She lost about 25% of her body weight. Cherokee Animal Hospital never admitted that they might have done anything wrong. Instead they ordered an expensive series of tests which I had to pay for. I brought them a healthy cat for routine shots and I got back a cat in severely compromised health. I will not be bringing my pets here again, ever. read more

We got a puppy mid August and he started getting sick right away. It was a Sat night so I didn't get him in until Mon at 5pm. He was diagnosed with Parvo. I did everything the vet said including IV stays there twice and then I kept him home for the rest hydrating him, keeping up with meds and keeping his sugars up with Karo syrup on gums every hour, plus force feeding him puppy formula. I also checked his temp every two hours to make sure it was stable. If not they had sent me home with water bottles to warm up in the microwave and then wrap in towels to warm him up. It was an exhausting 10 days but he is a super happy playful butterball now. I can't thank CAH enough. They helped save him and my kids just adore him and he's part of the family now. I could not believe how absolutely caring and compassionate this group of loving people is/was with us. I was visiting my ill sister here,with my dying rescue dog Elmo,14 year old.I was desperate to find someone to put him out of his misery,and desperate at the same time ,that I might not be able to survive without elmo. I found this group online,called to see if they might be able to help me.They were wonderful start to finish.No one rushed us,everyone was tender with us.... They had a room reserved for us when we walked in the door....I was blue to hold elmo's Little face and talk with him throughout the euthanasia.....he died peacefully. I boarded my 2 babies and I thought they were in good hands but upon returning to pick them up they smelled of urine and feces. It actually was crusted to them. So first thing to do was bathe them to remove it all. I've boarded before moving to North Georgia and they were never returned to me in that condition. I am so grateful to have been sent here by my local vet when my cat Harvey Dent developed urinary blockage days before thanksgiving! I had lost a cat a friend had given me in 2015 due to this same issue which is common in male cats, so I was able to notice his issue before it got really bad. They were the only ones who could take him and I am very glad to have had them take care of him. They also treated us with kindness and made sure I did not spend money unnecessarily. This kind of illness can rack up thousands of dollars in vet bills! You can ht the $3000 mark in a week, especially if they have to board the cat for more than 3 or 4 days! We recently moved to Canton and Cherokee Animal Hospital was recommended by a relative, so when it was time for my kitty, Jelly, to have his annual exam, shots and a much-needed sani-cut, I was able to get a very convenient appointment with Dr Jed. Because Jelly is a very nervous kitty, I was dreading loading him up and leaving him for several hours at the hospital. The sani-cut expanded to needing to remove quite a bit of matting on his back as well. I knew this kitty would stress BIG-TIME, so the vet had given me some suggestions on how to pre-treat him before the actual visit to calm him down. Then the staff agreed to give him anesthesia during the mat removal so he would not be awake and the staff could complete their tasks with everyone being calm. I was cautioned that they are not groomers, but I was pleasantly surprised at the good job they did leaving him with a mane and boots, but all of the matting gone. I can't say enough good things about this vet & the staff. Here is my story: Two years ago my son took his dog to CHA. He was very happy with this office & recommended we take our dog there. About 6 months later, my dog, 16 yr old springer spaniel, was having vision problems . I took her in for an exam & I was most impressed with both doctor & staff. I knew this was our new vet home! Fast forward to last Thursday: Jan 22, 2015. We took our dog in for a "quality of life consultation". Madeline, our springer, had been going down hill over the past year. We saw Dr Pepper (yes, that's her name). She was sooo helpful giving information to help us in our decision. She was patient, kind, understanding & ready to support whatever decision we chose that day. In my heart, I knew it was time & I didn't want her suffering to continue. The staff was so so kind. They waited for me & let me drive to Dairy Queen to get Madeline one last treat- a cup of chocolate ice cream; she usually only got to lick an empty bowl - but not that day! They allowed us all the time we needed. Never once did we feel like we were rushed , everything that happened that day was allowed to happen on our time frame. What a gift that was. Madeline took her last breath in my arms hearing me tell her what an awesome companion she was. Two days ago, we received a sympathy card from CHA. Each and every staff member wrote a short note & signed the card. These people really care. That day was a heartbreaker - but the loving staff at CHA did everything in their power to make Madeline comfortable & give us peace. I can't thank them enough. read more

We are changing vets for our cats who were cared for since 2017 by Cherokee Animal Hospital. During the pandemic we became concerned about the number of new clients they accepted without additional staff. When we had to stay in the car, we always came with a written description of issues since we could not be in the clinic. Sadly, on several occasions, it was clear our written notes were not read by the vet. Once, one came out to apologize when we complained to the technician who returned our pet to the car but it happened again. The final straw for us was about a month ago when Bella was due for her annual. We were allowed to accompany her into the exam room. Although she had no issues medically and was there just for her annual check up, the vet recommended blood work because of her age. We agreed. Three weeks later I contacted them since no one called with her results. After some investigation by the staff we learned that although the blood was draw it was never sent for analysis. We asked for a refund for the several hundred dollars we were charged for the blood work and made the decision to change vets. read more

I visited Cherokee County Animal Hospital with my new puppy and the staff were amazing. we did have to wait outside in the car for a Dr. to come and speak with us which was fine. There was a poor kitty who was attacked that showed up right as were were called so the staff all took care of the kitty, exactly as they should've. I was not impressed with the bedside manner of our Dr. it was an emotional time and felt like it was just another day at the office. I get it. It was another day for her. But that was our baby. Dr. Pepper and Dr. Bryant have both stayed well after hours to perform life saving surgeries on two of my dogs. They went above and beyond the call of duty for my babies instead of just pushing me on to the emergency vet. I cannot be more thankful for thier care and respect for myself and my two babies. Thier bedside manner, professionalism, and care are second to none. I was even allowed to take my baby home on a sunday while still owing over a thousand dollars on my bill which I'll be gladly paying monday when I get off of work. This has truly proven to me that these saints are not just in it for the money. I will never use another veterinarian service again they have my buisness for life. I love CHA and everyone who works there. Our 12 year old Australian Shepard went to CHA his whole life and recently passed away in November. After countless visits to CHA, trying to improve his quality of life, we made the very tough decision to put him to sleep. Dr. Bryant and Dr. Pepper were so supportive throughout the entire process. Letting us know that it was our decision and they would support whatever one we made while also reassuring us that he had the best life he possibly could have. During the procedure I was able to hold him and talk to him while Dr. Bryant offered compassionate words and hugs when she knew I needed it most. We were able to stay with him as long as we needed and she made us feel like we were her only priority for the day. A couple of days later we received a sympathy card with personal notes from everyone who works there and a cast of his paw print to bring home. I'm now starting a new journey with a rescue puppy and the guidance and advice from Dr. Bryant has been wonderful. They are conscious of the financial burden procedures take on you, they gave me several payment options when my 15 year old cat had to have nearly all her teeth removed, and always call after an appointment to check in to see how they are doing. There is no question that they truly love our animals and they go above and beyond constantly to give the best care for them. They have laughed with us when we got a new baby and cried with us when we lost one of our babies. The staff here are like our family. Love Dr Bryant. Took my Lab to another vet for a toe injury. To make a long story short. The first Vet misdiagnose and 6 weeks later I went to see Dr Bryant for a second opinion and she was pretty sure the toes had a cancer growth that needed to be removed. She referred us to an Oncologist at Blue Pearl Hospital that was awesome and we had to have the toes removed. They were very caring and let us know up front what the costs would be. I believe Dr Bryant saved our dogs life, as the other place was going to try and put her on a third antibiotic when in fact the first two did not work and the tumor proceed to keep growing to the extent that two toes had to be removed versus only one. We have had several pets over the last 16 years and they have all seen Dr Bryant. They loving and caring and if they don't know or not sure they will give you a referral instead of trying to treat without proper testing. I can not thank them enough for the life of my Lab Sassy.
