Communication and the clarity are poor. The experience with violin instructor, Ana, was unpleasant. She showed little patience to the point where my daughter was put off the violin. When approaching Ana, asking her to extend patience to the student, she gave us a "this is how I am, take it or leave it" type of response. We are very disappointed.

It's hard to rate this place like any other music school or business in the area. Its function (not…read moreits "mission") is to teach arts and music to the community at a very reasonable rate (the community is rather underprivileged and this place is a real gem). So what is it that they offer? It seems like everything under the sun. They have a choir, a folklorico group (I think), and some other public/non-enrolled groups. Quality teachers instruct in instrumental education at a reduced rate for kids, including but not limited to strings, woodwinds (though I see less of them and haven't seen any brass players, but you probably should call to find out), piano and percussion. They are also respected for their voice instruction, as Alison Iraheta from American Idol some seasons ago was instructed here. However, it's not just instrumentation and music that they teach, they also have a drama class and several other seasonal rotating classes. Additionally, one of the most spectacular things about this school is their summer camp program (camp MusArt). The program has some great staff and instructors, and they usually have two months (1 section per month) and a production for each section (a fully staged musical) by the kids. Howe we, last summer they were only able to manage one section because LAUSD has screwed up their schedules with their budget issues forcing kids to go back to school at different times. The last show was the Wizard of Oz, prior to that they've done Mary Poppins, the Lion King, Mulan, West Side Story, etc. every year it's a treat for the kids to participate. My other gripe are the bathrooms, which I wish they had more of. They currently just have 2, and when intermission hits a long line forms for the pair. I recently just watched a musical here at the Ahmanson Theatre here in Los Angeles…read more I've been here once before many years ago to watch Mary Poppins. I don't live too far away from here but it's always a trek coming down to downtown LA. And the tickets I received is said to park in the music center garage. Parking was $10 and really efficient. It took a while to get our bearings to find out where we could park and what was available. And at the very end, it was actually pretty efficient to get out of there as well. We're on level P6 and we were directed to go down towards the lower level and everything was very efficient to then come back up to the surface.. It's a beautiful venue. It's not huge, but they're able to make great use of the space. We sat in the balcony and got a great view and we were able to see everything fairly well. There are lots of concession stands throughout and you're even able to pre-order drinks and snacks and beverages for the intermission. Overall, it's a great venue, it's even closer to me than the Pantages, where they have a lot of other musicals as well. We caught a great show here too. This is definitely a hidden gem that I'll be excited to come back to again in the future when there are future events. Everything is so well organized and it was a great experience.

I have been to the LA Philharmonic Walt Disney Concert Hall several times to see/hear different genres of music from ballet, to symphony, to jazz, and of course classical music, and during the holidays they give a great performance by their choir. Those of you who know me, know I love classical music and do have my favorite composers: Chopin, Vivaldi and Mozart. On Sunday, March 29th at 7:30pm my friend and I went to see Strauss, Bruch, & Moussa's elegant, classy performance that shook up the whole entire venue and the audience. It was just MAGNIFICENT! 10/10 The venue itself is STUNNING! Glamorous and easy to navigate all the aisles. Our seats were very comfortable and you can see the stage from any corner/angle since the theatre is not that big. Also has balcony seating. Tickets were $50 a piece not including tax. It has a beautiful gift shop, garden, different restaurants all around the building, and a small store where you can purchase some beverages and snacks. Overall, a GREAT performance and we both had a lovely time. Parking is $10 with few an entrances and few restrooms for both men & women. Thank you all for another AWESOME performance!! Will definitely return again next time I get a brochure or pamphlet in my mail.

The place was lively and had a great atmosphere. They have a nice selection of beers, and there's a pizza spot right next door, which is a huge plus. You can grab some food and take your drinks inside while enjoying the show. I was also really impressed with the sound quality. Everything came through clear and the venue has a great setup for live bands. Between the music, drinks, pizza, and overall vibe, we had a great time. Definitely a cool LA music spot. But once you find it, it's large, gated, and has a couple attendants watching the cars. You go upstairs and it opens up into a decent sized space. Large enough to hold people and dance, and small enough that you can see the band from every point in the bar. It has a long bar when you enter and looks like they'll take care of you for the night. At the far end of the venue is a little space. I'm not sure if they use that as their green room cuz it wasn't inviting you to come in. Overall, I think it's a decent venue. Not sure if the sound was an issue w the bands' equipment or The Paramount. I'd go back if a fave band of mine is playing.

Our family were able to visit Casa 0101 a couple weekends ago to watch their Prince of Egypt…read moremusical. Seating is first come first serve but the setting is so small and and intimate that there is probably not a bad seat in the house. Despite the size of the place, the production quality and talent was amazing. It was a privilege to be able to watch this 2.5 hour show with all these singers and dancers giving their all to entertain such a small group of viewers. Bravo!
