A family run, very popular, place, Crema has a great range of food. From paninis (heaven is full of their chicken pesto paninis) to homemade bakes and cakes, hearty soups and a nice line of caffeine based beverages, I spent many a Saturday/Sunday morning brunching here. There are more seats upstairs, and whilst the decor is pretty bog standard, check out the amazing photographs on the walls, amazing portraits in black and white. Price wise it is about average, although the temptation of cake always meant our bill was a little high for a brunch but hey, what's life about if not treating yourself?!! I'd recommend Crema if you are in Hamilton town centre (or even down at the Asda, it's not much of a walk) for any reason. Good food, friendly helpful staff, for a good price. If you are lucky you can chat to the owner(s) and see just how passionate they are about sourcing local produce as well, an excellent sign!

Food comprises snacks with toasties and other light snacks being heated on the premises on order. Coffee is smooth and enjoyable with no bitter aftertaste. Staff are usually too busy to do much more than take orders, prep food and take money. It is rather cramped especially when several people are waiting for their take away orders, but places worth recommending are usually very popular and this is no exception.

Their steak pie that the rest of my party had was pretty good, drinks are great, but the burger...not so much. I tried to play it a little safe with that, but it was over cooked and the burger itself was small and flat. The ambience of the place is nice, quiet, and relaxing. I would return, but I'd just choose a different main dish.

Overall the quality of the food is good, the prices are reasonable and staff are attentive and friendly. My only issue with Mondo is that the quality can vary, and the vegetarian options are limited to 2 pizzas and one pasta (main courses). Since changing to Mondo I have visited twice and ordered the Penne Arriabiata each time. The first visit the sauce coated the pasta and was tasty with a slight heat. The second ( more recent visit) the sauce was too spicy ( in my opinion) which killed the subtle flavour and as it was a drier consistency which did not coat the pasta. Friends and family members who have visited have liked the quality and despite my concerns I'd visit again.

I've been back quite a few times since my first review, but this place is slipping, to put it simply. When I was last here for dinner, it was ok, but not fantastically good as I had previously experienced. However, it was good enough to keep Tinto as a 3-star and not 2, which is what my most recent experience would definitely be rated as. Went for breakfast with some of my extended family (7 of us) on a Sunday morning and it was just so disappointing. While I appreciate we were a relatively large table, the rest of the place was *empty* so I wouldn't have expected this would be too much to cope with. However, when our dishes came out mostly a variety of cold and burnt, it put a right dampener on our gathering. I had been looking forward to ordering churros after my Croque Senor (this came out a bit burnt, and presented itself as merely a grilled sandwich slapped on a plate, not even cut through or anything...) but in all honestly, I was frightened to in case it ruined my previous love of Tinto churros. Our server was great and they did take the two worst plates off our bill which was nice of them, but everything just felt as if not very much care or effort had been put in at all. This place could be an excellent hub of activity on a usual dead Sunday morning in Uddy, it has so much potential but on this occasion, seriously failed to deliver.

So all eyes were on us so we promptly left. Mind you I cannae complain about the age thing since I am considerably over the drinking age. Mon my youthful looks! Although it was a bit of a put off, I really did want to try the restaurant since it was upgraded a few years ago. Well, for a wee post birthday lunch, I went with a couple of my closest friends and their kiddies. You can never have enough birthday celebrations. I was really impressed with the layout and decor. I was like, I don't feel like I'm in Blantyre anymore. Fortunately there was no wicked witches. The menu was impressive, remembering the fact we're in Blantyre here. We all went for the 3 course deal for £10.95. I had an odd combo of black pudding, apple with sweet chilli sauce in a stack for starters. Very interesting but hey it worked for me. My main was honey and mustard chicken skewers on a bed of rice and lastly an After Eight Sundae. Nomolicious I say! I couldn't finish my sweet though, this burd was stuffed. I would definitely recommend and would be up for going again. Anyone? I did notice they have a lot of televisions which I thought was a bit pointless as all they have on them is advertising for up and coming events and deals. I thought it was a bit of waste but hey maybe it's part of the modern look. Anyhoo, just remember to bring your ID for the lounge if you're having a wee cheeky schwally.
