The bed is firm and room is spacious and clean. The table lamp did not work but the room is bright enough with the other working lights. If I have to complain about one thing, it is there is no tv menu and the tv doesn't offer an online menu too so I end up flipping the channels every night. I also didn't know how to use the phone. But dialing 0 gives you the front desk. Staff is responsive. They came up and brought me a hair dryer and to fix the window shade that was stuck. Rooms are quiet and I do like the window shades that keep to room dark at night. I also like how there is hot water coffee and ice water in the lobby. Elevators are fast! I would stay at this hotel again.

There are numerous reviews stating leaking problems and it does not surprise me, walking into a room without calling first does. When I went down to the Front Desk to ask about this the two individuals knew NOTHING about said complaint/leak and said policy was to knock three times. That was the best they could offer. If they did not know how did Security know about the leak and go the room without checking to see if the room was vacant etc? Again the stories never added up as I asked the Night Clerk had she heard of this and did they go into my room while I was out for the night as that too concerned me. She too had heard nothing about any of it. So with that you add to the darkness of the room itself an interior view of walls of the building they are demolishing adjacent to the hotel. The overall griminess that no shower can rid you of the feel. A Room not refreshed the next day from cups to coffee, but the bed made, the few towels I had used replaced but it was still just dingy, as I arrived late Tuesday and thankfully did not shower that night but the Bar had no white wine and along with that there is NOTHING close Downtown after 8 that is remotely accessible other than three shady poorly maintained Bodegas. The nearest bar a dive and the Hotel itself is surrounded by fencing due to the Construction so access is challenging but a walk down 9th street you will see a sign affixed to the door on the abandoned building directly next door and it says "............ POOP HERE PLEASE". the Do Not blacked out. I think that says a lot as at night it is as empty as it is during the day frankly. Other than the Hotel there is a Starbucks in the Omni and another coffee shop in the Shockoe area that is open at 8 am. And trust me that place makes the worst coffee and frozen bagel ever. It is desolate until you get closer to the water or go into the Arts District to find decent food. Shocking for a Southern City frankly. All in all Richmond has an amazing outdoor Amphitheater that is a year old and a fantastic Art Museum along with free city buses that at least during the day you can get around. The Amtrak Terminal is "interesting" but it is car town clearly. The Hotel was convenient to it and the stadium but it is deep need of a cleaning and a remodeling of fixtures and plumbing clearly.

Street parking on the weekend is fairly easy, and this location is in the center of the city where you can walk to the waterfront. The minifridge in the room was so tiny as to be insufficient for any leftover food. You could maybe fit like a canned beverage in there. I don't know why they even bothered. It didn't seem that cold inside either. The hotel was pet-friendly, which unfortunately resulted in some very loud barking nearby that I was so bad I considered speaking to management about it, but ultimately did not. Still, the downsides were small. If you want a kitchen or a work space, this is not a suite, but if you just want a room downtown, it delivers.

From the outside, the hotel looked brand new and had lots of parking. As you stepped inside, you entered into a large lobby area with lots of seating and dining tables. At the front was a small check-in desk and at the back was the complimentary tea, coffee, and hot chocolate, microwave, as well as where the 'grab'n'go' breakfast is located. The room itself is basic but room enough and has all the basic amenities. As you opened the door, on the left was the entrance to the bathroom and after that was a storage rack with a place to store you luggage on top as well as hooks with hangers to hang your stuff on. Next to that was a small section which contained a small ironing board, and underneath the luggage rack was a fridge as well as cubby hotels with additional storage and the iron. The bathroom was also a decent size and contained a sink with counter space, a toilet, and a small stand-in shower. The shower was the only thing that looked small and prefabricated (and thus a bit cheap) but overall the bathroom was decent and had Dove toiletries next to the sink (hand wash and lotion) as well as in the shower (body wash, shampoo and conditioner). The bed was located along the left side of the wall and I had a king-size room which the bed size and comfort were decent and provided a good nights sleep. On either side of the bed were two small nightstands with plugs as well as USB ports on either side. Across from the bed, along the right side of the wall, contained additional hooks to hang your jacket/clothes, a TV mounted along the wall, and a long desk underneath that along with a TV-tray/mini table underneath the big table. The big table was great to do work as well as eat and the mini-table provided extra storage for the work and food. Overall, the room was a decent size, comfortable, had the basic amenities that a guests need, and provided a good nights sleep. The hotel does provide additional amenities for the guests including complimentary parking, complimentary wifi, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate available all the time, grab'n'go breakfast, pool as well as a gym. I was only there for a little while so only experienced the complimentary parking (lots of spaces) and the complimentary wifi which was strong and was able to connect multiple devices. Had I stayed longer I would've enjoyed the complimentary tea/coffee/hot chocolate, the fitness facility as well as the breakfast. Overall, it was a nice hotel with lots of amenities and services for the guest. The room was comfortable, provided a good nights sleep, and the wifi was strong.
