When our beloved dog passed away unexpectedly, the owner, David, personally took my call the night she died and met with us the very next morning. His kindness and genuine empathy were truly comforting during this difficult time. David guided us through the cremation arrangements with great care (and allowed us to choose our preferred package with no upselling) and allowed us to say our final goodbyes to our sweet girl before we left. The cremation was completed the following day, and we received our best girl's ashes in a beautiful wooden urn, a prayer card, and several ink paw prints, all handled with the utmost respect and compassion, from Justin. I can't begin to express my joy and pleasure of the beautiful story. This was my first time having to say goodbye to a beloved pet. Our dog Ripper loved and kissed everyone, he was a perfect family dog for 13 wonderful years. We rescued him in Hawaii, he moved with us to NYC and took his last breath at home in my arm here in CT. If I was to draw a picture of how I imagine this process to happen, Mr. Olson (Dave) delivered exactly that. Dave arrived before the vet to give us (me) the much needed support in perfect dose. His calm soft voice, and compassion are so appreciated. Nothing felt rushed, Ripper was given some ice cream before proceeding with the process. Of course I was emotional, but between the vet, his staff and Dave, all was done with such care and compassion. Something so simple as tissues, he had it all covered at the perfect moment. After it was done we were given some time alone to say our goodbyes, than Dave took him to the van in a pretty carrying blanket. He laid him gently in the back of the car, allowed us to give Ripper his last kiss, as Dave assured me that he will be handled with love and care. I believe that based on my experience. Even as Dave drove down our long driveway he left slowly with his hazard lights blink, I appreciated that. I HIGHLY recommend Mr. Olson, and his services. We entrusted our pet to them on July 12th for cremation. By July 22nd, not having heard anything i texted them to find out when our sweet pet would be ready to come home only to be told immediately she was ready. When were they going to tell me? Then i was told there was an error in the engraving on the urn and could we come two days later, i.e. on the 12th day. When we went to pick up our pet on Saturday the 24th, we were then informed for the first time that they had lost her fur clipping, i was offered a memorial keychain as if this could possibly make up for them losing a part of our pet. It was insulting. I was assured they would look for her two days later on Monday i.e. a full two weeks after they took possession of her. Why had they not looked for her sooner? By now two weeks had passed and the odds of finding it seem pretty slim if not nil. To add insult to injury they overcharged us for a 60.1-90 lb dog. Our dog was weighed at a vet's office a mere four days before she was euthanized and was only 47.3 lbs and did not eat between then and the date of euthanasia. There was no possible way she was more than 60 lbs to result in an additional $ 60 charge. They ultimately found the fur clipping but it did not contain my pet's white fur as requested. They claim they have a secure pet tracking system. Clearly that is not the case. They claim they handle your pet with dignity, care and compassion. Clearly that is not the case. I have lost five pets before this and have never experienced such sloppiness, carelessness or lack of compassion. All of these events resulted in a complete betrayal of the trust we put in them to take care of our beloved pet. Instead of bringing comfort to us, this encounter has only added to our distress and grief over losing her. Ultimately they stated they would refund the entire amount. Getting our money back is small satisfaction for what we had to deal iwth. read more
