I never write reviews but Below Book is a bunch of sleazy liars. I made an appointment and they said 3 weeks. OK so I bring it and they said 3hr job and will cost $ 500. I was like ok. Well they called me next day said they were waiting on the parts. While parts were in the car that I bought which they knew about. So they never looked at the car. A 3hr job took 3 days and price went up from 500 to 600 dollars. I really thought from reviews that they were good. I don't understand ripping people off. I would have went there for all my repairs and they would have had a steady customer making more money but I guess they were more interested in ripping me off and lying. I'm writing this to warn others. I believe karma will come back on them. Sad I had to write this instead of being a happy customer Rating is a minus 10 read more

I was visiting Lewes/Rehoboth recently with my son and grandkids. Leaving the hotel parking lot Friday afternoon to come home the dash lit up like a Christmas tree and the car wouldn't start again. Was luckily able to get Harry's number from my brother (a local resident). Harry stayed open until I was able to get the car there, ordered a part for Saturday delivery and had me fixed by noon Saturday. I consider that just short of a miracle in a busy resort area on a weekend to boot. Can't say enough about this owner and shop. He saved my trip and did it quickly and reasonably. We trust the mechanics here 100%. I know a lot of people who have bought pre-owned cars here and are happy. They have an excellent reputation in a tight knit community, and it has been that way for years. Do not hesitate to stop in, it is a busy place, and a little tight but friendly service and a smile are coming your way. So much better than the chain or dealership experience. Bonus: if you have to wait for any reason, yes you can do that there but you can also walk to several places for a bite to eat or shop (drug, grocery and gift shops nearby) or possibly do a drop in yoga class (2 nearby studios) read more

Harry is a great guy and we are so happy we found him. He has a tremendous amount of knowledge, treats you honestly fairly and quickly. I had to have my car towed by AAA for a starter problem and when I told the driver I wanted to go to Harry, his face lit up and he confirmed that Harry was the best! He ordered Honda parts (also checked for recalls first), repaired the car and had it back to us the end of the next day! He is a genuinely good guy and knows his business. I bought a 1999 Toyota Camry and it at first seemed to run well. I took it to a Wal-Mart to have the tires rotated and found out the battery needed to be replaced. I took it to a mechanic and the repairs cost almost $1500. Sarthak Ohri, the boss of the company, said that his hands are tied and that there is nothing he can do. He was extremely rude on the phone and refused to let me plead my case. Then he hung up on me. I am remarkably unsatisfied with the service and lack there of. It happened to me and it can and probably will happen to you if you buy from this company. IF you do buy, have your own mechanic look at the car first before purchase. I know that Sar cannot be trusted because while filing a case against him in small claims I discovered that he had two cases filed against him already. Do yourself a favor and find a car somewhere else. read more

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I would highly recommend. I was visiting Rehoboth Beach area with my family and our car broke down. AAA asked me where they wanted my car towed - my inclination was to the closest dealership which was 30 miles away and could not confirm timing for getting car repaired. Tow truck driver called Harry who said they would look at the car that day and do what they could to get me on the road as soon as possible. I got a call from Harry later that day saying they had identified issue and ordered the part which would arrive early next morning. I was able to pick up car next day and get back home. Auto shop is a rare gem and has a wonderful owner. Many thanks for the assistance in helping out a stranded family. read more

Harry is probably one of the nicest, most honest people you will deal with in cars. He is truly a good person and will bend over backwards to help you if something goes wrong, and always makes it right if there is a mistake. God bless 'em, because that man is patient and keeps the sky from falling (especially when you think it is going to land right on your car!) and everything running smoothly around there. The guys here left my moms keys in her car and it was stolen. They noticed it was gone and never contacted her or the police. 2 days later the police caught the guys in a traffic stop. When we called Harry at the front desk didnt seem to care at all and said he didnt know where the keys were left. read more

I'm a Lewes Native and have driven past Below Book for years. For whatever reason, I always assumed they were expensive and catered only to the rich visitors who insist on mispronouncing our town name as "LOOS." When my roommate shared that he's always taken his Nissan Maxima there, with no problems at all, I was skeptical. Then, I went to the nearby Mr. Tire on Route 1 for their "special" on standard oil changes. In the process, they discovered a screw in one of my tires and, with a straight face, offered to patch the tire for OVER THIRTY-FIVE DOLLARS. For a PATCH. I recovered from my laughter and got back off the floor then called Below Book on a whim. They not only scoffed as loudly as I had but fit me in that same afternoon to remove the screw, patch the tire in under 5min., and top off the air in all four tires, for FREE. Mr. Harry and Mr. Bob both were personable and easy to talk to and helped me with another, minor issue on my undercarriage, also for no charge. Looks like I'll be getting my oil changes, and every other blessed thing, right in the heart of LEWES. read more

Total crooks. We bought a car and had it serviced, within a few days it had serious engine problems. They didn't offer any help. Garbage car and garbage repairs. We were robbed. Total scum. Avoid at all costs. read more
