Belpar has always went above and beyond for every single one of my fur babies. I rescued a dog, Pancake, and they worked with me into getting him put into my name (they contacted his old owners for me, they abandoned him but his microchip was in their name!). As soon as they got the confirmation that he was officially my dog, they worked with me very quickly to get all his medical needs cared for. I have two other dogs and kittens who all receive the same awesome care, my pets actually feel like they are THEIR priority too - not just mine! They are my regular Vet. My German Shepherd had diarrhea for five days. Couldn't get appointment until day 8. Went in, got checked, received medication. Had to refill prescription after 2 days. After 6 days of medication, She still has diarrhea, i haven't received the results from stool sample. Now my German Shepherd has had diarrhea for a total of 2 weeks and $325.00 later. read more

I've been going to this vet for close to 20 yrs. he's already diagnosed my girl Jewels with lymphoma, however I called today to see if he could call her in a steroid because she's now blind. I called this morning however I told Tina the receptionist that I wouldn't do chemo. Dr Gainey never even returned my call. I took both Maddie & Jewels to see Dr Gainey in Oct for ear issues. I was charged over $600 for that visit. He doesn't care about my animals. I heard him laughing about someone's goat that got hit by a car. He only cares about making money, especially after building his new union town office. I will never bring one of my best friends to his office ever again !!!! read more

Have been taking my pet to Belpar for 2+ years for vet care and doggy daycare. I can only tell wonderful things about Belpar. Dr. Gainey and Dr. McAndrew are top notch (very thorough and accurate with their diagnosis, effective medical treatments, and great at answering my questions ). Never had a scheduling issue. I get emails reminding of upcoming appointments. I also use their day boarding service for my dog on a regular basis. All the staff is very kind to her and she loves going to Belpar! read more

They nickel and dime for everything. A 39.00 recheck ended up costing 138.00 because they didn't do it right the first time. Ridiculous.

Very unhappy with recent service. Given an estimate and signed, prepaid for the procedure, then get there to pick up my pet and told I owe 600 more. No call, no text that the procedure was more. Told only needed 2 teeth remove, took 7. Said we sent you a new estimate via email. Nowhere in the email does it say revised or corrections. How did they go feom 2 to 7 on the new estimate? Hmm shady business. Then want to lie about what was said during the well check. They have cameras and everything is recorded in the rooms. read more

Took my corgi puppy in from her start at 9 weeks til her recent annual check up at 17 mos old. Here's my experience... - at 6 mos old, they take her to the back for her check and vax's, bring her back to me and tell me they "had to give her a party hat". I trust that professionals know when they need to muzzle, incl for a 6 mo old 15 lb puppy, but idk why they'd infantilize anyone by calling it a "party hat", to me that part is unprofessional - we get thru the next year and vax's (tho I recommend keeping your own records and staying organized) and it's time for our annual check, should be nbd right? Not so... - I put my corgi puppy on the table, now 26.8 lbs, and Dr Gainey comes in the room, no introduction to me, my husb or our dog. I later figure out from the website and receipt it was Dr Gainey. He asks about her eating and drinking, while he immediately grabs for her jaw and forces open her mouth - she wild eyed terrified, barking, growling, then screaming at the top of her lungs. It's horrible, she pees herself - alot. Tech puts her in a neck/choke hold while he grabs her abdomen - I try to soothe my dog, I've cupped her face in my hands while she's in the neck/chokehold, she's still crazy scared but her eyes are locked on me and calming down, she's shaking badly but not growling anymore. Dr Gainey says "she could've taken someone's fingers clean off". I said if she takes anyone's off, it'll be mine as I continue to soothe her with voice and touch, holding her face, and it's working. This is a good pause point to mention, he could've said let's muzzle her if he was afraid of her - he waa done checking her teeth and eyes, he could've suggested light traz or other meds if she's this terrified at the vet, but he didn't - instead he's angry, visibly angry, and now he's focused on me, inches from me and tells me "you can't praise her and tell he's a good girl like that. She IS NOT A GOOD GIRL". I'm thinking how weird this is, that a grown man is visibly angry at another person about using the words "good girl" while calming a young dog - hubs was watching all 3 of us (me, tech, vet) w our pup from the other side of the room and stops Dr Gainey, tells him that trainers will say you praise the behavior you want to see and that's exactly what I did. Hubs tells Dr Gainey we're not there for training advice, just medical care and let's focus on that. He moves on - pup accepts the thermometer just fine, she gets the rest of her exam and a trim of her fur on her backside without any drama but we're so shaken that we stop before the nail trim and said its been enough for her. It was enough for all of us - honestly I was really shaken, I get that some people still believe in 'dominance training' vs positive reinforcement training. Not only do we clearly disagree w Dr Gainey there, but I felt like getting angry at me, inches from me, was really scary and upsetting, esp when they could've muzzled her like they did before. I wasn't sure if he'd felt as comfortable treating me that way if I were a man, or younger/older, or if he was just having a bad day - no one was even close to being physically harmed this was a normal exam and vax's, not a trauma case. We cldve paused at any time. The waiting area was empty and it was a quiet day...it was the afternoon before Thanksgiving and it seemed one or two staff were finishing for the day - I'm still shaken by it all but am mostly concerned that my puppy is still learning from all her experiences...from the muzzling at 6 mos, to being out of her mind terrified nearly a year later. How does she learn vets aren't scary? How does she learn she's safe and ok, esp when the vet escalates the situation by angrily scolding the person my dog is looking to when she's terrified? - it's also the 1st time in a lifetime of pets I've never seen a vet say "hi I'm Dr..." and greet owner and pet when entering the room read more

Our dog was having breathing issues and our vet was closed, Belpar Pet Care took us in and checked her out, ran some tests, and gave us enough meds until we can see our vet. They treated her with care ( she can be testy at times). They did everything they could to keep her calm and she did great! I highly recommend them! read more

So I'm kind of torn. They have a new vet: Dr. Simmons. Her treatment plan you have to agree to or she becomes hostile... regardless of my dog not having any nausea or vomiting. While I respect her opinion I disagreed with certain parts of treatment but she talked over me. I decided to stick with them but now I ask who the vet is so I can avoid her. read more

Took very good care of my cat during this pandemic. He was better within a couple days. Update: never mind! I had made an appointment again and was left in the parking lot for an hour. I was told after awhile that my appointment hadn't been for when I was told, and then other people still were able to go ahead of me. Biggest problem is the scheduling department, apparently. read more

I love Belpar! They are so attentive, kind, and gentle with my pets. I have five dogs and one has been there more than others, Pancake, and they treat him like their own. They always get me in ASAP if I have an emergency and are very understanding of financial struggles. They're quick to answer phone calls and respond to any questions I may have. We had this vet take care of our pets, so we went to them today because our cat was very sick. I actually didn't think he was going to make through the night. We called before going over, but was told they had no time to see us. We checked around and found the Fulton Animal Hospital. They fit us in at 10 am. Unfortunately, our cat had a gall stone that was blocking his urinate tract. His organs were shutting down. The humane thing to do was to make him comfortable and let him go. The Fulton Animal Hospital was very thorough with the diagnosis and sympathetic to our situation. We have one pet now - Wilson the Havanese. We will be giving our business to the Fulton Animal Hospital. I recommend you do the same. read more

I had to put down my cat of over 18yrs. He hadn't left my house in 17yrs, so it was a struggle to get him there. He had a huge mass on his hind leg and I knew the outcome would be inevitable. But they took great care of him and was very compassionate. Gave me plenty of time to say goodbye and the process was as good as could get. They sent me a condolence card with a couple of his paw prints. And when his ashes came back, there was his paw print in clay and locks of his fur. Ashes in a beautiful box with his name engraved. We had the difficult situation of having to amputate our dog's leg due to cancer. The vets, surgeon, techs and whole staff were amazing throughout the whole process and went above and beyond to accommodate us and our dog, easing our worries and making a hard process as easy as possible. We have 3 dogs, all cared for at Belpar by Dr Faulkner. Our dogs actually look forward to coming here. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Our 2 yr old Rottie just had knee surgery so we have been going there several times in the past couple of weeks. The staff is so caring that our boy just lays on the floor quietly and lets them do his treatments. When Dr Faulkner comes in to see any of our dogs, the first thing he does is sit on the floor with them. They absolutely love it. Our dogs are doing very well thanks to the care they receive at this top notch pet care center. We never have a long wait (as we have at other vet offices) and their fees are in line with other vets that we have had. We highly recommend Belpar to anyone who loves their pet and expects high quality service. read more

Our sweet dog Maggie had a large mass that no other vet would touch. We were so discouraged and worried about her. We took her to Belpar and Dr. Gainey and the staff took so much time with us and helped us come up with a plan to remove the mass. He did the surgery and the turn out was phenomenal! Maggie is back to her old self again and the 15 pound mass is gone! Welcome to Dr. Meluch as well. If you are considering this vet office for your "fur children",,, DON'T BOTHER!!!! Plan on leaving more $$$$$ then usual. Disconnect with staff. Vet/Gainey, NOT at all friendly. Called to come back by a dingy young gal, who was texting, and flirting with another young male employee. Stood there, like she forgot she called us back!!! Insulting! Vet wanted to do a surgery on our dog. Shocked when saw estimate. ($1000.00 to remove a lump) When checking out, the initial charges were shocking! Talk about being taken advantage of. Went to another vet's office. No charge to look at the lump; and surgery was $300.00. Showed them the bill from Belpar, and they just shook their heads, and said they were sorry.
