My dog was pretty sick. I'm usually an owner that goes to the cheaper clinics. I wanted a full service vet, so I went to Brimfield. Everyone there was so kind, efficient and informative. They let me know what was happening and what we were waiting for. The bill was expensive, but they did a lot for my dog. He is a new animal, feeling so much better. The worst vet experience ever. Arrived in the parking lot at 1:30, called them to get on the waiting list for the day. Called back at 1:45, they said it would be 1 hr. They called me into the building at 4:00, wasn't seen until 4:30 - "3 HOURS". When I met with the tech, I told her I had been waiting for 3 hrs. She looked me dead in the face and said, "Uh-huh." The vet herself comes across as just running a business. They said they MIGHT be able to get me in sooner for a follow-up. So, I MIGHT go without having to loiter around the parking lot like a raccoon around a dumpster, with the car running, with a frustrated dog. This is where you wait around with the rest of the peasant clients who have been similarly conditioned by the American system to be thankful for whatever crap service we're lucky enough to get. DEGRADING! The only thing they're diligent about is their credit card machine. Never again...emailing around for a new place as we speak. read more

This is a tough one to post this happened about 3 months ago but I am so happy I took my cat here. we had taken our cat here after taking him to an emergency vet where not only our cat but we were treated awful. we went here the next day knowing there wasn't much we could do for him but we were willing to try anything at that point. we had asked for test due to him not being able to urinate and pain. they had ran all of the test for a reasonable price compared to others they kept us informed for the entire process. ( they had let us know with chest x rays that sometimes it stresses out cats too much with this being said I am a very emotional person so as I was sobbing I had informed them that my cat is blind and if they could just talk to him and let him know someone is there with him it would be appreciated I was met with the response of "absolutely we always talk to them we wouldn't want to be alone either" which really calmed my nerves) after all of the test were done we had the worst news. he was going into multi organ failure they showed us all of the scans and explained what everything was pointing to cloudy spots on the scans and explaining it to us like we weren't stupid. ultimately we asked if he had any quality of life left and she responded with "well we can try everything" she then explained what the process would look like and it seemed like if we were to continue to help him it would only keep him in pain. so we decided he deserved to go peacefully once we made the decision everyone was extremely patient they let us take him outside to lay on the warm concrete (his favorite thing to do) and sit with him for i believe two hours before she placed the iv. once the medication was injected she checked multiple time that he had passed and said "I always check multiple time just for sake of mind so you know he is at peace" I would highly recommend coming here I know the situation I had here was awful but the people made it seem like they cared and were looking out for not only my cat but for us as well read more

Took my boyfriends dog in with his sister and they were so nasty to us, not even petting the loving lab or greeting her in anyway. My wife recently took a feral cat to this practice to be tested for diseases that could harm the two cats we already have living in our house. When my wife called to find out if they would perform the tests for us, she was quoted a price of $65.00. When she was paying the bill, it ended up being $115.00 My wife asked about the discrepancy and was simply told it must have been a misunderstanding over the phone. New ownership is very unprofessional. Hours are inconvenient and the front desk is rude and unreceptive. They no longer set appointments, so you're relegated to sitting in the parking lot, hoping you can see the vet before they close. We've had such trouble trying to get prescriptions for our oldest doggy, who struggles to breathe when unmedicated. And even when we've received prescriptions they've been written in inaccurate and dangerous dosages. I have been going to Brimfield Vet for 9 years and have had wonderful service until ownership changed. Reception seems bothered to help customers. Prescriptions have been incorrect several times and not ready as stated by staff. Voicemails have been left unreturned. After sharing our negative experience on a Facebook post, my husband was harassed by the owner's husband and CFO, David Ede. Facebook message stated: "So we put our life savings into fixing brimfield vet up and u bad mouth me. New owner being my wife is terrible huh?" This was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. We no longer trust their veterinary expertise, have been alienated by poor customer service and fear that other pets and their owners are receiving the same treatment. read more

There is no possible way to get into this vet unless you're retired or don't work for some other reason. Their hours are the most ridiculous I've ever seen. I tried to come on Saturday at 8:30 (they open at 9) because I have to be somewhere by 11. The parking lot was already full. So I called and asked the receptionist about what the wait time is and she said "ummm I mean, It depends on what cases she has" supeeeerrrr rudely. DO NOT GO TO THIS VET!!! I took my 6 month old cat here when he wasn't feeling good. I paid $550 for him to get x-rays, blood drawn, fluids, and special food and they diagnosed him with severe dehydration. Less than a week later my 6 MONTH old cat died and we have no clue of what. Brimfield Veterinarian was fantastic when I needed to have my dogs seen on short notice before going out of town. I tried to make appointments with other vets in the area but none of them could get me in in time. I found out that the Brimfield Veterinarian takes walk-ins and decided to give it a shot. The staff there was very friendly and helpful. Even though I was basically last in line, they made sure that both of my dogs got the care they needed that same day with no appointment necessary. Dr. Janelle was very considerate and knowledgeable, and she was glad to answer any questions or concerns that I had. It was also much more affordable than I expected, and I was pleasantly surprised by the very reasonable cost of the visit for my two pups. When we moved to Randolph I was so worried I had the same vet since I was a kid in WV. Dr D and the the girls were everything I hoped for and more. They treated us like we had been coming there for years on our first visit. They were loving and caring when we lost Molly and again when we lost Miley. During the shutdown when Miley ran out of her painmeds one staff member went above and beyond drove into the office and then met me 5mins from my house. Holy crap! Rudest, uncaring people to deal with. On days where they have walk ins at the 9am to 11am slot; we arrive at 10am with a mother cat (that we brought in from outside because someone abandoned it; maybe because it was pregnant) and seven babies that are 4 days old needing to have vet look at the babies asap. We arrive and their recording says to call when you are in parking lot and we do so and the receptionist says that they were completely booked solid at 9am. She states that if we want to be seen we could wait in the parking lot from 10am to the next walk in at the 2pm to 4pm slot. Mother cat was somewhat panicky and babies have not went potty since they were born. Finally we say we can not wait in car for 4 hours to be first in line for the afternoon walk ins. The receptionist says to just take to emergency MedVets or Metro and she says "by the way, they both have a 6 to 8 hour waiting time" as if she wanted things to go poorly for us and the animal that we brought in from the cold couple months ago and the seven little newborn kittens. After going to Brimfield Vet since the late 1980's when Dr Baker owned the practice and through Dr DelValle's ownership, I will never be going back again to see the new owner of the practice, Dr Janelle Gottuso. On December 20, 2021, they charged me $97.75 for a medication I could have purchased at the Ravenna Walmart for $55.65, which I found out after I got home, too late to return because I had already taken it out of their office. Also, her new hours are inconvenient for many people who work, and they are only open for walk-ins on a limited basis. On the days they are open from 8 am - 5 pm, they are only available for walk-ins from 9 am - 11 am and 2 pm - 4 pm except Tuesday, when they're available for walk-ins from 2 pm - 4 pm only. Starting in 2022, they will only be available for walk-ins on two Saturdays per month (the 2nd and 4th Saturdays) from 9 am - 11 am. If your pet is ill on any other Saturday, they suggest you take them to one of the two emergency vet clinics in Akron, Medvet or Metro, so you can spend more big bucks. For example, I took my parrot to Metro; and they required a deposit of $600 before they would see my parrot. You also are not permitted to go into Metro with your pet. read more

Let me start by saying I loved the service my cat received but my wonderful experience at this vet was short lived for shortly after I left the office I received 3 calls on the drive home. When I parked the car & saw that I missed the calls and called them back, the receptionist put me on hold for a second then I spoke to someone and they accused me and my spouse of taking DOG medication from the room we were in.. I'm not a thief nor do I like being falsely accused of being one. I quickly made sure that my spouse didn't accidentally pick up anything and made sure the meds that I had in my purse were the correct ones. Everything we had was in order and I told her I was sorry but neither of us had the meds. I wasn't happy with the conversation with the receptionist so I thought I talk to Tina the person that was in the room with us, she walked in as I was trying to shove the medications that she had just given us for my cat in my purse so I didn't have to carry anything. We both explained to her that the medications that were being shoved in my purse as she walked in were the ones she had JUST given us. She didn't sound convinced and just gave us another "OK yeah sure" response. I am extremely unhappy and don't think I will be visiting this vet again. I don't think I want to go somewhere that can't keep track of their medications and then accuse people of stealing them after they just spent over $200 on their pet. read more

Love the hours and that, other than for surgeries, we don't have to schedule an appointment as they have just walk-in hours. I waited longer to get into prior vets when I had an appointment. The wait, when there is one, is rarely longer than about 15 minutes or so. I like that they are affordable, give you choices, and don't do anything that isn't necessary. read more
