David and team replaced the cloth seats in my F150 with new padding and leather ~ good quality work, delivered as scheduled, and for a reasonable price. Also repaired the driver's seat frame. When the Toyota dealership refers you to Bel's, well, that's a compliment right there. We went by the shop on Harborside, David gave us a quote and talked with us as friends, not just customers. We brought the truck back the next day, on a Friday and it was ready Monday. This is our 2002 Toyota beach truck and I've been using a $3 T-shirt as my seat cover because the upholstery was so torn up, foam was falling out. It looks good as new. So we left my husband's truck for the same treatment! Satisfied customers indeed! David is 4th generation and his son, 5th generation, upholstery craftsmen. Impressive! We're lucky to have them in Galveston!!! I can't wait to take something else there! Update 8/27 we've since taken in the 2012 Toyota Tacoma for the drivers seat to be upholstered and it looks fantastic. We just picked up a pleather cushion for a mid century knock off chair we got at World Market a couple of years ago. Again, stellar work and quick turnaround! Sent a Facebook message earlier too...no response. It's 2021...we all have the choice to check messages promptly; I'm done -----------------/---//-//------- Emailed them today for ball park price on a chair I'd like reupholstered...I'm doing comparison pricing on local shops here and in the area. I sent dimensions, measurements and photos of chair. I got a "vague" reply from owner within the hour (sent from cellphone) that in my opinion...is NOT acceptable. I will NEVER understand small business owners who are deliberately indifferent to potential customers. Email response is nice enough and states they're not doing furniture until November; ok that's cool...BUT, WHY couldn't you answer the questions I had? I emailed him again (as a customer I shouldn't have to do this) and asked for answers...I'll update IF he responds. If not, PASS on this small business. They obviously do not need my money. read more

I would not recommend this business... we brought them several pieces of furniture. They reupholstered our outdoor lawn furniture cushions nicely but DID NOT reupholster our ottoman and settee... they wouldn't return them to us either... called, texted too many times to mention. Finally gave up on ever retrieving them. If you don't mind this business just keeping your pieces or taking an eternity to complete work, feel free to use them. They also kept a rocking chair that a friend of ours took them. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH UOUR FURNITURE ITEMS. read more

I took my sectional cushions to be re- upholstered. And the owner said it would take 7 days well, 7 days turned into 30 and they were still not finished. They were not all stitched, some had holes at the corners and a whole cushion was missing and incomplete. Each week the owner had an excuse but assured me they would be ready. I had a big party planned 3 weeks from the day I delivered my cushions to David and no where for my guests to sit and I told him this and he said "don't worry they will be done" still no cushions! An expensive party and no where for my guests to sit. At the 30th day I picked them up and one was incomplete. I had already paid the owner and he did not want to return any money. David and his wife are very unprofessional, the day I picked up my cushions he and his wife both bullied me to the point that I had to run out of the business with the unfinished cushion. I would not recommend this business for large upholstery jobs. #Scammed for $900.00 read more

This place is ridiculous. I needed the chairs to a rattan dinette set recovered and thought I'd give them a try. The shop is small and unclean with dogs everywhere. Had I seen it myself, I probably would have left immediately but my husband took the chairs for me. There were four small chairs and two loose cushions we needed upholstered. I spoke to the owner on the phone a few days before to schedule the appointment but found out after my husband left that we were being charged over $1,030.00. I was shocked because I hadI priced the work at other upholsterers and it was $270.00.-$400.00. The owner, of this place, David said he charges $39.00 a yard for denim fabric and $95.00 an hour for labor. He also overestimated the amount he needed by three yards ($117.00). As if that wasn't enough, when I scheduled my appointment on the phone, the owner promised to have the work done in 2-4 days then told my husband it would be two weeks. This was a big deal because I needed the chairs done before Christmas and that was the primary reason I chose this place over the others. Considering all of this, I decided to go get my chairs and use someone else. My husband left the chairs on a Friday afternoon and I called the owner at 8:00 the following Monday morning. When I went to pick up my chairs, they had not touched them, yet the owner charged me $89.00 for canceling my order. He also refused to refund my deposit of $500. At that point, I simply said "whatever" and attempted to leave the store. As I started toward the door, the owner came toward me in an aggressive manner demanding to know why I had an attitude. It was almost frightening. I told him that I felt like we were being overcharged and that he told me a much shorter time on the phone. He wanted to argue about it and tell me how complicated the chairs were. ..they aren't. In fact, the upholsterer I did use told me that it doesn't get any more basic than my chairs. Anyway, it was a horrible experience all the way around with this business and I encourage you to use anyone besides this guy. I did eventually receive a hand written check for the remainder of my deposit. read more
