At…read morefirst they were unavailable but called me back within 5 minutes and gave me an appointment. Plug into google maps and off I go for my hour long drive, pull into this parking lot ... call inside to let them know we were here, but we were at the wrong vet.... OMG. What had I done . The vet I was talking with on the phone advised me where I was is also an avian vet and that they should be able to help me. So I go inside this Vet (Belton Animal Clinic and Exotic Care Ctr) and announced I was in the wrong place but hoped they could help. We had a good chuckle and they got me set up immediately in a room while waiting for the Vet. I couldn't believe they were available. While there the feather corrected itself and they were able to do a wing, nail and beak trim also. The vet tech and Dr Peck were the nicest people that my bird has ever been seen by. I was able to be in the room which made me feel so much more at ease as well as my bird. I can't get over how Great this place is!! It's super clean, the staff has extensive knowledge of birds, they're kind and gentle and the Number 1vet we've experienced in our 20 years together. I highly recommend!!!

BUT was misled on the price and what they were able to provide. I understand there's an issue with the bird flu right now but then I should've been told that!! Their excuses they just started that protocol this week and the front desk staff were not aware. That's a poor excuse and even if that is the case. They should have NOT have charged me for more than I was told!!! Especially since they could not do what I made the appointment for in the first place!!!! I would've not driven 1 hour, stressed myself and my bird out to pay $80 for advice. Shame on you!! !!! I should've never been charged 80$! I put down a $60 deposit because I haven't been there in a while, and I understand that. I was told the exam would be $55. Then they had the nerve after telling me how to go home and do it. I appreciate being educated because this is why I brought my bird to them.. But they don't understanding that I have to now go purchase a tool to do it at home myself. YOU make it hard on people who want to take care of their animals no matter what the economy is throwing at them! I GET IT WE ALL HAVE THINGS GOING ON, BUT I PAID FOR A SERVICE I DID NOT RECEIVE! SHAME, SHAME, SHAME !! You could've done better! You could've educated your staff ! You could've not lied AND THEN STILL CHARGE ME FOR A SERVICE I DIDN'T RECEIVE AND HAVE TO DO MYSELF. I apologize for repeating myself, but I am pissed. This is what big corporate does!! Screw the little man while taking their money! I am so mind blown right now ! I have worked in this industry for a very long time. It makes me sad to say this is a place you should not take your animal.

Absolutely would recommend Grandview Animal Hospital!! My 5yr old corgi broke a tooth and my vet is…read moreover in Lenexa. I called them first thing in the morning and they recommended to call a dental specialist but explained they would not be able to do surgery in case it needed immediate removal. After calling my original vet and the dental specialist, I made an appointment for surgery. I was recommended to go back to my regular vet to work on pain management until the surgery. Since I live in Grandview, and they had been so helpful over the phone, I was able to get a same day appointment that afternoon! From the moment I walked in, my little man was showered with love and attention. The ladies i worked with both in person or on the phone (Dr Hamilton, Ella, Mikayla, Megan) were FANTASTIC. I am a first time dog owner and they explained everything in detail and answered all my silly questions. If you're furry friends need help, you can absolutely put your faith in this clinic!! We're doing much better this afternoon thanks to you ladies!!

My experience started out so positive but I will not remain a client now. As someone else…read morementioned, communication has not been good. I appreciate that they were able to see my dog the same day for an emergency visit. When I arrived, everyone was super nice. They examined Duke and determined he had some arthritis and gave me temporary meds to see if that helped his discomfort which it did. Bloodwork was needed to check his liver to see if he could remain on the meds. My first unfortunate experience was they lost the initial bloodwork. I waited a week before calling to see if they had his results. I get it, mistakes happen but it was frustrating given that I live in KCK and had to drive out to Grandview to have him get another blood draw while in the meantime, he's in pain again. When getting his second script refill, I had to message the office to find out if the doctor had received the request since it had been a couple days since the refill request was submitted. Finally, I called and left a message on the morning of 7/17 to discuss changing Duke's arthritis meds since they were causing him gastrointestinal issues that weren't improving. It has been almost a week and no one has called me back. I even sent a message through their contact form on the website...crickets. My friend who takes her dog to Grandview Animal Hospital highly recommended them to me and I was willing to drive a distance to receive good care for my pets. Not sure if its a staffing issue or training issue but this is too many instances of the ball being clearly dropped. I have since reached out to a vet that is closer and have an appointment set up for 7/28. Update: After posting my review, the practice manager did reach out to me to discuss my experience. I responded to her email thanking her for contacting me to try and rectify the matter. I've decided to take my pet elsewhere but hope they can get some procedures in place where ALL clients receive consistent customer service.

Most awful place to take any animal wasted my time my pets time and money…read more Told me all labs came back normal and that he didn't know how to read an x ray and the lady was extremely rude for no reason at all and called my dog fat while he is in the worst condition I've ever seen my dog in and the doc told me I didn't know what I was talking about Long story short I took my dog here they charged an arm and a leg for an x ray and blood work with unsanitary equipment for me to leave and take my dog elsewhere and for me to be told he had acute kidney failure and he didn't have much time left with us Thanks for wasting the time I had with my baby boy and ignoring the blood work very unprofessional and should not be allowed to run a vet clinic with half a brain and a a missing ceiling Do better or don't run an animal clinic in such a filthy environment

Just wanted to throw in my two cents worth. If you want a vet that will nod politely and listen…read morepatiently as you offer your own brilliant diagnosis while quoting the things you read on the Internet, this is probably not the vet for you. If you want to feel like you are the most important creature in the room because you are the customer, this is certainly not the vet for you. But if you want an experienced vet who will treat your pet as if they are the only important creature in the place, you just might want to give CCAH a try. After five years of endless visits with two aging cats and my friend's two dogs, I can say without any reservations that I will always start with CCAH. I say "start" because they will send you elsewhere if your pet needs care for which they are not the best option. But all of this is really just prologue. The thing that triggered this review was the thing that meant the most to me. I had no idea how important this was until it came time to do the one thing I had been dreading for years. My dear pet crawled up on my chest near the end, buried her head against my shoulder, and said in her own unmistakable way, "We have reached the end." On that day, I received the one thing money cannot buy and no one can fake: I had a vet who cared, not about me, but about my pet. At that point, there was nothing else I needed or wanted. And, for that, I will be forever indebted to Dr. Wayman.

Lack of proper care by Dr. Stohs led to the death of my daughter's 6 year old lab mix, Dr. Stohs…read moreignored all other symptoms besides the ones fit her actual diagnosis. We initially took her in because she was having some difficulty walking, he attributed it to hip/back issues and prescribed 3 medication to help with pain and inflammation and said if she did not improve to bring her back in 7-10 days, her condition did not improve, we took her back a week later because she was completely lame and vomiting non stop; Dr. Stohs took X-rays and stated he could not see any visible issues with her hips or spine, but continued to insist it was a bulging/slipped disc and prescribed steroid treatment and sent us home with a referral for a physical therapy provider. That night, I decided to google her symptoms and the only diagnosis that matched her symptoms was Lymes disease, so the next morning I requested an appointment and asked if we could have her tested for lyme's disease, at this point Fifi was vomiting non-stop and immobile, so we had to leave FiFi in the car for the exam; she tested positive for ehrlichia, he injected her with an anti-nausea medication and a steroid and told us to wait another 2 hours before beginning ORAL ANTIBIOTIC TREATMENT, mind you FIFI had not been able to keep food or water down for nearly 48 hours at this point-- FIFI WAS DEAD WITHIN 36 HOURS!!! This man had the unmitigated gall to call myself and my daughter the day after her death and and then texted me " I don't have any idea why this would happen." If anyone would like to hear the voicemail or read the texts from him, I would be more than happy to share. When calling to inform the clinic of her passing the callusness of the woman on the phone certainly didn't help either. All I can say is don't attribute to malice that which can be explained by incompetence, and so I will not be bringing any other animals here. Will we miss you FiFi, you're death could have been prevented if tot would have received treatment from a doctor who was willing to do their due diligence to care for you.
