Since they are under new ownership/management, service has tanked. I've seen them hang up on callers because they're too busy. I haven't seen any of the vets or staff that used to take such good care of my pets. it just makes me sad. read more

I had been going to the vet for years. My poor girl became ill, we took her in and drew labs. They told us they would call us the next morning. We did not hear from. Everything we called the line was busy. This is common occurrence here. We had to beat down their door the next day. It was too late. Our girl had started to decline. Their posted hours on the site was they close at 7, we showed up at 6:20. The doors were locked. By the time I got her to an emergency vet is was too late and she died with a condition that may have been treated if we had been notified the morning after like they said. I'm heartbroken. Been taking my furbabies to Chipman Road Animal Clinic for almost 20 years. They are the best. They got me an extra year with my 19 year old dachshund. They are affordable and do not push unnecessary treatments. They are walk-in only so you do have to wait sometimes but you know if you get your pet there, it will be seen - no waiting 2-3 days for an appointment. I cannot recommend Chipman Road Animal Clinic enough. They're affordable (I called a TON of vets asking for pricing for a procedure for my pomeranian and nobody even came close to their price. Which included ALL medication and follow ups), the staff is professional, and they take walk ins. Even more than that? I cannot recommend Doctor Hawley enough. She preformed my dog's luxating patella surgery and reassured me and kept me informed every step of the way. She's easily the best vet that i've ever seen and passionate about the animals she helps. read more

We have been going to this vet clinic for over 20 years . The staff is fantastic!! This is the only place so far that takes in anyone without an appointment. So , of course the wait is a lot longer but worth it !! There prices for anything is better than anyone out there. Check it out for yourself. I called ahead before bringing my dog in to be put to sleep due to a collapsed trachea. I didn't want her to have to wait in the waiting, causing her more anxiety. They said not to worry about that. I got there, and we were told to wait in the waiting area. I also told the front desk I wanted her ashes and the whole package. So today, i go in to get her ashes, and I'm the only one in line. I waited for almost 10 mins and was not acknowledged. So I left and called them asking to have the package mailed to me. I guess they won't do that. She told me to come in and wait in line....again. so I went back in, and there was no one line, but I actually got helped this time. They came back with a bag of ashes and nothing else. They said I only asked for the ashes and nothing else. So I will never have the paw prints and hair jar that were supposed to be in the full package i asked for because they failed to do their job. read more

Been a client for abt 20 yrs., and wouldn't go anywhere else! Staff is knowledgeable & always friendly, and as someone who is on a fixed income, I find their pricing of services very reasonable. Exam rooms are clean & odor free, and the waiting area is large, comfortable, and usually very entertaining!! And though they don't take appointments, except for scheduled procedures, my average wait time is generally 10-15 mins. Dr. Rooney (who I usually see), is the best, the icing on the cake! We've brought our dogs here for several years. The two stars is more for the how the business runs. The vets are great and I have no issue with them. One of the staff seems to not only dislike animals, but definitely dislikes people. She's enough to ruin the experience for me. I dislike the "first come, first served" appointments and it's best we move on from them as we have less and less time to wait 1-2 hours to be seen. We need actual appointment times for annual visits. The phone system is egregious. I can't tell you how many times Ive been sent to the fax line (Bc the phone line number and fax number are the same). It's too bad as I do like the vets and sense their love for animals. Your experience depends on which Veterinarian (DVM) that you get to care for your dog. Todd Rooney, DVM, are Allyson Cook, DVM, are excellent in examining your pet, offering solutions, and counseling the owner on best practices. Brett Miles, DVM, is horrible. He fears a dog that will look him in the eye and uses any excuse to put a muzzle on your pet. He has an "air" about him that makes a dog appear as if a confrontation is about to happen. Miles feared approaching my 11 year-old Lab mix and would not offer his hand for the dog to smell. This is immediately after the DVT had explored my dog's mouth with her fingers. If my dog wanted to bite, he surely would have done it then. I instructed Miles to NOT muzzle my dog and he wanted to argue about his safety. I had to shame him by questioning if he should be a DVM when he feared dogs. Miles felt the need to inform me that my take on his demeanor is not what mattered. I asked for a different DVM and Miles smirked as he told me he was the only one working at the time. I allowed Miles to muzzle this dog on the last visit. I stood my ground and did not allow such this time. Miles had no confidence in delivering two simple vaccines and an oral application. DVM's Rooney and Cook will bring me back, but I will no longer let Miles treat my animals. read more

Literally zero stars. I waited over four hours to be seen. For two kittens to get shots and determine gender. These are babies they shit like every 30 mins and they've been in a crate for FOUR HOURS. All the staff standing around in the lobby doing nothing while we wait. They even REMOVED ME FROM THE LIST thinking I'd left- I was literally in the lobby THE ENTIRE TIME. My family has taken our pets there for over two decades now and wouldn't have it any other way. Dr. Cook is a very kind and genuine vet. She puts so much effort and thought into helping your animal as well as making sure you understand your options. My most current visit was for my 16yr old lab who was feeling pretty bad. From the front desk tech who made sure my dog was comfortable to the tech who got on the floor and tried to get my dog to take a bite of the food they just opened for her. Edit: Dr. Holt met me after hours to take care of our pups which I greatly appreciate. In all fairness this is the first major issue we've had in 10 years. We do value being able to walk in and know that comes with some inevitable and understandable difficulties on their part. After patiently fighting Giardia the last couple months with our puppies I called to check on their last stool sample 3 days after I dropped it off. I was told they do still have it and that a doctor would call me back today. I expressed my concern that I also wanted to be able to pick up medicine for them before they close today. 3 hours later still no call so I called them again, 1 hour before they close. She said we'll have medicine ready and you can pay over phone and pick up in box. 15 min later calls and says we need to weigh the dogs so come in Monday for meds. I said I know their weight within a pound, not good enough. Wait til Monday. I could've had them there to be weighed had I been told the first or even second time I called. She said their levels are really high so they can't really get worse?! Like, wth?! No offer to wait 15 min past close so I can simply weigh them. Irritating! 10 years we've been loyal customers with 5 dogs and 2 cats. read more

I had a new puppy for a couple of days, and he started exhibiting symptoms of being sick. I didn't have a vet yet, and literally googled for close vets. I was lucky enough to stumble on Chipman Road Animal Clinic. Turns out my new little fur baby was sick and needed treatment. I found the vet staff to be no nonsense, but very friendly and effecient. They didn't sugar coat anything, they told me my options, were upfront about costs, provided quotes with my options, kept me informed throughout the process, and they made him healthy again. They gave me samples for heartworm and flea and tick, until he outgrew the recommended doses they had for puppies, to help keep puppy costs down. There are no appointments, which means that sometimes you have to wait a few minutes, but avoiding the peak times (right after work or Saturday mornings) helps to minimize the wait time. Bringing him in first thing in the morning before work (they open at 7 and vets get in by 8), I never had to wait. Quick, efficient, and cheaper than any of my friends' vets. They are the reason my fur baby was able to heal and they've helped me to keep him healthy. Can't say enough good things about this place!! read more

I will NOT be going back to Chipman Road Animal Clinic ever again. Pete the cat has an infection in his foot. I asked for the basic of what he needed because I am a single mom on a VERY tight budget and it was already going to cost me a minimum of $80 to do exam, clean the wound and for an antibiotic shot, which I hadn't planned on spending. Vet (young man) made me feel like crap and like I was neglecting my pet because I wasn't going to pay to do things outside of this/that and the other (not needed at that exact moment and that I could either do myself or cheaper elsewhere at another time). Before I started going here I went to another vet for years and always had to make an appointment ( which is hard for a cat owner, my cat would sense it and hide under the couch for hours). My mom took our dog here and said they were very nice and so we took my cat here when we noticed some weird lumps on her (worried it could be cancerous). when we took her there we tried to tell the tech why we took her in and she completely ignored us and kept poking and prodding at her and being like oh poor girl bla bla, like we didnt take care of her. when she checked her ears she said they looked a little dirty and that she was going to have the swabs checked and left, then a girl came in and was like am i supposed to clean your cats ears? and we're just like I don't know no one has told us anything, so she took her and without anyone notifying us of anything the cleaned her ears until they bled and put in an antibiotic without telling us. then she just left us in the room with no info. we then waited for the doctor for over an hour, and when she came in she was like awh the poor girl is in so much pain because you don't clean her ears, she didnt really like us touching them. which is because my cat is a frigidity cat, she doesn't like strangers touching her, and doesn't like being groomed. and then she commented on how dirty and long her hair was because she's a long hair breed. my mom pointed out that i brush her everyday and the doctor said i need a specific brush for long matted hair, which is what i already brush her with. then she said she has a small matte at her vulva, and i really shouldn't be neglecting her by not taking her to groomers. she hates being groomed i keep her brushed, and i will take her to a groomer to deal with that but she acted like I don't take care of my cat because I don't constantly lift her tail and look at her vagina. will not go here again!!!! read more
