The worse experience in our lives. We pay a deposit of $300.00 for a service; however we cancel it. When we went there to retrieve our deposit THEY DO NOT GIVE IT US BACK. Dr. Beltran and his staff are excellent! His everyone is very polite, his office is beautiful, clean and pleasant, he uses the latest technology, sees you at your scheduled appointment time (as opposed to keeping you waiting) and is very knowledgeable. Finding the actual office in the building is a tad confusing since you don't go through the main entrance. There ARE signs that direct you to the side elevator, which opens right into their office. (I'm the silly one who paid no attention to the signs and looked like an idiot walking into the front doors and got lost. Sigh.) Wait times always suck at any health office, and they can never be fully blamed on the doctor, so I'll just say that the wait here is the norm... LONG. =/ However, once I was finally called, I felt like the tech and Dr. Beltran really wanted to explain to me what was going on in my mouth. (I was having wisdom tooth problems.) He showed me my x-ray pictures, and really trying to point out (using Paint) how my teeth were growing in. Very friendly and informative doctor. read more

Anyone going here be careful! The "oral Surgeon" honestly made me feel uncomfortable, especially after hearing how poorly he treated and speaks to his staff. Being that it's privately owned they do things how they want and therefore the patients suffer the consequences. Good thing I noticed all this before proceeding with any treatment. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!!! read more

This place is for people who are pretty wealthy, not for people without a job thats for sure. After getting the exam done at a different dentist, I was told due to my roots being longer than anything that office had ever seen, they sent me to BDS. After arriving at BDS, I was informed that they refused to use the exams from anyone else and had to do their own, the price of the exam was 2-3 times more than most other places. Then after this, they went over the price to get one of my teeth pulled and in total it would have cost me $1000 for just 1 tooth, are they nuts? So after leaving I arrived home and called couple other places, all said they could call and get the exams from the first dentist sent over to them so i wouldn't have to pay for more exams... bonus right there. The place I went with was in Brandon and they charged me way less than I was expecting to pay, i can see $200 for a tooth including the price of exams, but Aspen Dental was reasonable and great, the office was larger than BDS and from the time I signed in, till the time i was called in (on both days I was there) was about 5-10 waiting. I am not exactly sure why BDS charges people 5 times more to get a tooth pulled than other dentists, nor do i care, but seriously, check out Aspen Dental in Brandon first. read more

Office smells of mold, I seen a huge cockroach crawling across the floor. Place appears to be falling apart inside. I was told by a recent employee that they reuse implant parts on every patient, that should be against the law. My neighbor spent 28,000 dollars there and his implants on his teeth continue to fall out. Doctor seems to just put another one in, just to have it fall out again. Horrible patient care. read more

RUN AWAY!!! The worst place ever. They left part of my wisdom tooth in my mouth. They are taking no responsibility for what they have done to my mouth they are refusing to give me my money back on top of it. They placed bone grafts in my holes when i declined them which is clearly is read on there doctors notes, that i do have. My face swelled up for 2 months with a raging infection. I finally got swelling down, and in April the swelling came back. I couldnt yawn or put a spoon in my mouth for two and a half months because HE LEFT PARTS OF THE WISDOM TOOTH IN MY MOUTH. Of course everytime i went in to tell him something was seriously wrong, he always had a joke of an answer of how its my fault. " oh your immune systems just really good" or "your smoking" . Yes i do smoke but i quit for this procedure. I did try on the third week. I was not very successful though because I could barley open my mouth. Still this has nothing to do with what i was doing at home. HE LEFT PART OF MY WISDOM TOOTH IN MY MOUTH!!! Even though he wanted me to believe it was me making the mistakes. I was not the one who made mistakes here other than letting him touch my mouth. I saw him once a week for three weeks and he saw no infection each time and kept putting me on differrent antibiotics hoping the swelling would go down and I would go away. It did not go away it's still present. I'm still swelling up on and off but now I have a mouth full of puss. I push on my bottom jaw in the back i taste it and smell it. Super gross and uncalled for. He takes no responsibility for his actions and the mistakes he makes. He never had a care about my well being. He made that obvious when he neglected to pull my hole tooth out and blamed me for all the problems. His staff and Jose beltran really do put on a great show to get you in. All they want is money and to mess u up. Now I have a new oral surgeon who gives a damn and he is going to have to place drains in my mouth and pull the rest of my wisdom teeth out. Again I'm having to fork over thousands of dollars. I went back recently to beltran surgery to let them know what they did to me and i was told there was no tooth left in my mouth and they did the best job they could do. Now mind u, they did not do x rays at anytime not even in the begining. They did not look in my mouth at this time either. They really have no clue or do they want to admit they did a poor job on me and made mistakes. If I could some how post a pic of my swollen face on here to show you all I would. It's been four months since this traumatic experience and they still are taking no responsibility. This has been the most painful experience and I am so tired of puss coming out of my mouth and occasionally spitting up bone grafts. what a joke Beltran surgery is. The staff is rude and has no care for the comfort of there patients. Beware worst dentist ever. He will cause u more pain and money than helping you. RUN RUN RUN AWAY!!! Beltran surgery is the worst place u could possibly go. Beware he does not know what he is doing nor does he care. He doesn't even deserve a star but I had to put one to post. read more

Established in 2009.

After a 10-year departure to receive extensive dental training at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Dr. Beltran decided to move back home to Tampa to start his oral surgery practice. Beltran Dental Surgery was established in 2009 and was initially located in Hunters Green of New Tampa. In 2014, the practice relocated to Temple Terrace--an area that Dr. Beltran recognized to be the best place to offer his services.

Meet the Business Owner: Dr. Jose L. Beltran DMD, M D.

Doctor Jose Luis Beltran was born in Quito, Ecuador and began his studies at the Cotopaxi Academy American International School. He completed his studies with honors at Chamberlain High School in Tampa . He received his Biology Bachelor of Science from the University of South Florida with University Honors, Biology Department Honors, and Magna Cum Laude. He attended Harvard School of Dental Medicine and earned his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry. He then pursued 5 years of training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas at Houston Health Science Center. During his training, he earned his Medicine Doctorate from the University of Texas at Houston and completed 1 year of General Surgery Residency in the Houston Medical Center including M.D. Anderson Cancer Research Center. During his preparation, he was thoroughly trained in dento-alveolar surgery, dental implants, orthognathic surgery,facial trauma, maxillofacial pathology, and cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.

I researched his records online, and found he has some criminal records, which I did not discover until after I had the bone graft. When I tried to call for a checkup after the 4 month healing period, their phones were blocking my calls. I tried to reach them for 2 weeks by asking someone to go by there and tell them I was trying to reach them, and they claimed they were having problems with their phones. What doctor's office leaves their phones out of service for 2 weeks, and does not answer calls from their patients? I won't be back there. I would carefully consider being careful to not put my care into any dentist who conducts his practice in such a cold, calculating manner as that. I do not recommend this doctor.

After looking at a number of options, the total replacement seemed the best plan. Had both tops and bottoms replaced on 11-11-2016. Since I am a big baby I was worried about the pain. To my surprise there was no pain on the day of surgery and only a little in the days to follow. I did follow the instructions for post surgery care. I will say that there is plenty of discomfort due to the swelling and numbness. It is a challenge to get used to a new set of teeth and eating can be trying, but it gets better everyday. I do have a bit of a lisp but Dr Kelly said that will subside over time and completely when I get the final set. The Tampa Clear Choice were professional, courteous and very caring, they went above and beyond what I expected, really good people. Dr Kelly is a consummate professional, I recommend him/them highly. While it is expensive it is a total, complete and final solution. I had looked at a piecemeal option and it was going to be expensive and only fix a few things. Doing the full restoration was the way to go for me. From start to finish a great experience. Alyssa is amazing, Roxanne was wonderful and Dr.Beltran is the true definition of a professional with care and compassion. Quick, painless and everything was upfront with explanation. I could not have asked for a better extraction other than to not have needed one. Dr. Beltran quite clearly takes great pride in his work and his staff have this extraordinary way of completing the package of a well run office. I would have paid a whole lot more for the quality of care received but let me tell you, it was far more affordable then expected and given a common circumstance, most cannot pay out the wazoo or wait 2 months for an appointment. Dr. Beltran finds ways to help and although I didn't need it am sure that if I did Alyssa would have figured it out. I was given an appointment within 1 day of my frantic call thanks to Alyssa and she was able to get all the details required for scheduling between my questions and concerns without missing a beat. I will recommend Dr. Beltran to any and everyone! I wish he practiced regular dental services but I can definitely see that he is a Master of his craft and it benefits his patients. Beltran Dental Surgery is FANTASTIC!! I cannot say enough good things about this office. I had oral surgery here on 11/10/14 to get all four of my wisdom teeth removed and the whole experience was excellent, from consultation to the follow-up appointment after the surgery. The office is very clean and presentable. The reception staff is extremely polite and welcoming, especially Luisa. The dental staff is extremely accommodating and professional - especially Laura, she is so personable and funny, she made me feel extremely comfortable (and I was very nervous!!). Dr. Beltran himself was very welcoming, professional, and extremely thorough with explaining the procedure and what to expect for my surgery. I was very impressed with everything at this office, and I would come here again in a heartbeat if I had any more dental issues. Dr. Beltran has a very professional and caring staff. He made room for me to be seen on a Friday afternoon on an emergency basis. One thing that really impressed me was the degree of care that Dr. Beltran puts into the diagnosis and the treatment plan. He used the X-ray as a kind of graphic aid to explain everything to me. My daughter had her wisdom teeth pulled here and we had the best experience ever! The entire staff is so friendly and helpful. Everything was thoroughly explained and they checked in on her more than once to make sure she was doing well. I was able to contact Dr. Beltran any hour of the day or night with questions and always received a quick response. We were very impressed by Dr Beltrans professionalism and he was very informative. The staff were very comforting, informative, professional and kind. The staff never left my girls side which helped calm her because i wasn't allowed back during the surgery. A few hours after the surgery they called to check up of my girl and adjusted her medication. Everyone from Dr. Beltran to the office staff to the assistants made this experience so much easier than expected. He took the time to go over every aspect of the surgery so I was completely comfortable with everything. I am currently unemployed, so I really couldn't afford this procedure, but they were very willing to help me go through all of the options they provided until we found one I could handle. I had an appointment to see Dr. Beltran until I did my research. NOT! He claims he "completed 5 years of oral surgery training" but it was in a SIX year program! He never graduated, is not board certified and is NOT a specialist. I decided to look for a REAL oral surgeon to take out my child's wisdom teeth as i did not want to trust anyone with my child's life that did not have the proper training. read more

Dr. Beltran did a terrific job! He pulled my big molar out under local anesthesia and I left no pain. All the time, he was talking to me softly telling me what he is doing, which was very reassuring. It took only a few minutes! I will go back to him for anything to do with my teeth! read more
