To my surprise, I experienced absolutely no pain or irritation in my TMJ at all. I also have a phobia of dental drilling sounds, which made me even more anxious beforehand. Dr. Gary was incredibly patient, reassuring, and kind. He explained everything, assured me the procedure would be quick and much easier than I expected, and he was absolutely right. After I was numbed, the implant procedure took less than 15 minutes. I was amazed at how fast, smooth, and comfortable the entire experience was. Great experience at Dental Care at Quail Hollow ("DCQH") in June 2026…read more Patient care: Dr. Patel, the dental hygienists, and the dental assistant, were attentive, patient, thorough, and gentle with their tools and equipment. Additionally, they explained things in terms that made sense for treatment moving forward, leaving plenty of opportunity to share dental history and ask questions. Staff approach to administrative details: Scheduling was easy and fast online through their chat, and filling out all necessary forms was equally as efficient. On top of this, staff attention to compliance of patient privacy at workstations (computer) and in reference to patient names was the best I have seen in a long time of any medical office that handles private patient health information; This was demonstrated when the dental assistant asked me to hang tight for a moment prior to transitioning from the x-ray bay to the patient room, and again when moving between my room and my family member's treatment room, where I saw other staff closing out of programs prior to bringing patients in or out of other rooms... also when discussing information at the reception desks, and in calling family members back into the treatment areas (which other medical offices should take note of!). Patient comfort: The atmosphere of the office is clean and well maintained. Lights are low (where possible), and music was generally calm. There are small bottles of water offered throughout, and they also provide blankets, lip balm, sunglasses, and other small items to ensure comfort and completion of appointment goals. In addition, TV's are provided in treatment rooms with a plethora of options for patients that need extra distraction. We could tell that staff paid attention to certain details on the intake paperwork as they were very deliberate in assuring comfort for a family member during treatment. Last, an overall comparison of DCQH to other area offices: Finding a new dental practice was, at times, discouraging; When calling around, it was evident that many have lost sight of the patient, requiring separate appointments for each of: x-rays, exam, cleaning (I am not sure who has that much time to devote to going back and forth to the dentist, but we don't). But DCQH did all of this and more: exams, x-rays, cleanings... plus treatments, a generous amount of time with Dr. Patel and staff discussing details, and the staff collaborated to provide multiple printed work-ups for possible future treatment or procedures to take home for consideration. For all of the wonderful qualities that DCQH exhibited, we hope not to need to find another dental practice any time soon. Thank you, Dr. Patel and staff, for making what is usually a 'chore appointment' a comfortable and convenient experience from start to finish.

In desperation, I traveled outside the country for treatment and returned with a temporary set of teeth. Unfortunately, that temporary eventually broke--just weeks before an important business meeting in August. Fortunately, I found Dr. Mitchell J. Persenaire at Premier Dental Implants & Prosthodontics. His approach was completely different from any dentist I had visited. Dr. Persenaire spent the time before recommending anything, he asked about my dental history, my previous experiences, how those experiences had affected me, and what I truly wanted to accomplish. He did not begin by trying to sell me standard treatment. He began by understanding my situation and hope that I would regain my smile! Dr. Persenaire examined the implant work I had received outside the country and explained that it had been done well, which was extremely reassuring. He then carefully discussed several options for completing the implant restoration in a way that could accommodate both my budget and my circumstances. Most importantly, he immediately addressed my urgent concern: making sure I would have a presentable temporary solution for my August business meeting. His office is technologically advanced. I was able to see detailed images of my mouth on a large screen while he showed me exactly what he was seeing and explained what needed to be done. The reviews online do not begin to communicate the level of compassion, precision, patience, and personal attention Dr. Persenaire provides. I did not find a dentist; I found a Prosthodontist - a specialist in the architecture and the aesthetic replacement of teeth. My treatment journey has now begun, and I left my first appointment feeling relieved and excited about having a smile I can feel confident about again!
