WARNING: Do NOT use Belyea Bros My recent experience with them has left me disgusted by two separate incidents of their dishonesty. (Note: all I needed was for my boiler to be replaced) 1) The Belyea Bros agent told me that my hydronic heating system was installed incorrectly and needed to be ripped out and installed correctly. For this, I was given a quote of $25,000 (compare this to the five other quotes of $8,000-$12,000 I got to replace my boiler). After having to cancel a scheduled installation by an HVAC company that turned out to be unfamiliar with hydronic in-floor heating systems, I misinterpreted this as evidence that Belyea Bros were correct, and that my system was installed incorrectly (Note: this was NOT the case. My system is installed correctly, and works properly.) So I asked for a second consult with the agent (Jamieson) from Belyea Bros, who reviewed with me the system he had detailed on his first visit, drawing exactly the same diagram (with the 5 pumps and buffer tank he claimed were necessary to preserve the life of my boiler and prevent it from "short cycling"). He wrote up an updated quote at the same price, and scheduled the work to be done on Tuesday-Wednesday of the following week. 2) On this second quote, I discovered that the detailed components that Jamieson described for me in detail and that he drew diagrams for - were not included in the work order! I was being charged for components to be installed that I was not receiving. This work order contained nothing about ripping out and replacing my current regulating system. Apparently, this was not necessary as my system IS INSTALLED CORRECTLY, AND WORKS JUST FINE! So, had I not noticed the discrepancies, Belyea Bros was about to charge me $25,000 for the simple replacement of my boiler - a job that should cost $8,000-$12,000!!! To make matters worse, when I called Jamieson after having detected these discrepancies, he pretended he had made a mistake, and offered me a $6,000 discount (so, a new price of $19,000 for a $8,000-$12,000 job!) as though he was being generous! NOTE: In the end (after five weeks without heat and hot water), I scheduled the boiler replacement to be done by a company that specialises in hydronic heating systems (at a price of $11,500). They were immediately familiar with my system (which had confused contractors more familiar with forced air heating systems). When I shared that a particular company had tried to rip me off, the contractor interrupted me, saying, "Let me guess. Was it Belyea Brothers?" Apparently my experience was not uncommon. read more

Our heating system failed one winter night so we called their emergency service and service advisor told us to call another company who did other work previously for us instead. When we told advisor the other company wasn't available to make a service call that night, service advisor told us "We're not coming out either" and hung up on us. Awful attitude, awful service. I called for AC service and they tried to charge me just for diagnosis $244+hst I phoned another contractor on diakin website for contractors another company charged me $69.99 + hst they all do the same work don't be fooled save your money!!' read more

I understand that Covid has placed strains on business, but I called 4 times for service and waited over a week with no response.

Watch out for their service people. They create work for them selves. Service person removes HVAC tape to create a leak in the system, then proceeds to test the unit of CO2 and red flags the unit. Stay away. read more

I believe there is a conflict of interest when the company who maintains your furnace is the same on who benefits from convincing you to buy a new one. We got a second opinion about our furnace and happily do not have to replace it. When we do, it won't be with Belyea Brothers. read more

This was a horrible and expensive waste! The customer service on the phone was fine, but in person, horrible! Asked for an assessment and got a huge bill, no maintenance was done even though that was the point if the visit. Extremely rude, and NO WORK was done. Do not use this compan. read more

My experience with this company has been terrible. I had a boiler replaced in September . 5 months later, I found out the boiler was not installed up to code and the inspection failed. I was told this was not a priority to fix because they were too busy. They ignored all my calls and texts to book an appointment to have the deficiencies fixed. If you're interested in having a company ignore you and provide work that is not up to code, this company is for you! read more

It's already been 2 weeks waiting for the part to come in to fix our Space-Pac air conditioner, during Toronto's major heat wave. I'm told it's the norm for parts to take 4 weeks, so we are facing another two weeks before it's fixed. It's 27 degrees inside my house and it's only 8:25 am. And my brother, who was seriously ill last year and is now in remission, is arriving in less than a week. It should NEVER be the norm for customers to have to wait a month for their air conditioner to be fixed. Our summer is only 3 months long as it is. I had this part replaced only last year at great expense. It must be coming from Asia, which perhaps explains why it's broken already. It's great that it's under warrantee and Ed is very nice on the phone, but that's not enough. You'd better figure out how to do better than this Belyea Brothers, because this is simply unacceptable. read more

I've had four calls with these guys. Each and every time I'm impressed with how pleasant, professional, tidy, thorough and knowledgeable they are. They've fixed my air conditioning, hot water tank, and perform annual maintenance on my furnace. They really take good care of their customers and I'm 110% satisfied with their service. read more

Did a replacement of furnace, removal of asbestos, added some new rads, fixed some old ones, replaced all of the old piping with Pex. One of those jobs whose bill grew out of control as we found more stuff that needed being done. Two years later, two rads are still not working and Belyea doesnt have the time to check their work. Interactions were difficult at best. This is a business with a great reputation but I personally did not have a good experience. I think they like the big jobs and then ignore you after - unfortunately not an uncommon thing in Toronto. read more

Repair to leak in Rinnai Hot Water Heating System: We had great service from Belyea Bros. Anthony came and fixed a leak at the flow switch on our Rinnai tankless hot water heating system. He arrived on time, was professional and courteous, and answered all of our questions about our heating system. We are now planning to use Belyea Bros for our future annual heating and cooling maintenance. Although they aren't the cheapest company around, they were the only ones who were able to fix our Rinnai hot water heating system, and they proved themselves to be worth the money. read more

Belyea Brothers was great. We just bought our first house and used them to service our boiler.

After having them out at my house six times to reassess putting ductless air conditioning in my wartime semi detached trying to figure out a way to do the install and then a seventh time for the general manager and part owner (manager) and still not able to come up with a solution to put it in my house without signing a waiver to put the compressor in the front of my house, in case it breached any city by laws, as well as There other tech having horrible customer service skills on the phone talking down to me and telling me if I did a google review on the way I was treated by them it would be considered slender. I decided to go with Someone else which was a totally breath of fresh air from start to finish, There tech who came and gave me a assessment on the Friday and on the Tuesday they were at my house installing a four head ductless system, it went super smooth as I had two highly professionals Ralph and Ryan who did top notch installation from start to finish, also the owner even helped out with the installation which shows he has pride in his own company, all and all I would highly recommend using Them, as it was a pleasure doing business with a company who goes above and beyond to make sure the job is done right. read more
