So, now I am a year out from my service done here and my car still runs so...here we go. Less than a week after a major, very expensive repair at a different shop, my check engine light came on. Again. Not sure that my car would make it nearly 100 miles back to the problematic shop in question (it would not have), I called the warranty company which supposedly covered the repair to find a place in town to have it looked at and potentially fixed....again. UNFORTUNATELY....the warranty, which I was sold as coverage of the entire engine replacement done at Southside Auto in Lexington, Kentucky (which...you should avoid like the plague! WARNING do not go to Southside Auto in Lex...) didn't actually cover, you know, ENGINES. But they were able to recommend some local shops which I could take my car to. The first one I went to simply cleared the code which caused the engine light to come on....not looking at anything or doing any work. So, less than a day later, when the light came back on...I went to the second shop on the list: Bemudo. Bemudo is a little tricky to find. But, the service provided is worth the finding. A very small operation but, in my experience, dedicated to accurate and honest work and good customer service. I told Uche the whole story so far up to the point of my getting to him. And he was mad on my behalf. Then, after checking out my car, he was even more mad on my behalf and very apologetic about finding out that my car was STILL leaking oil. We discussed our options, his first recommendation was to bring the car back to the original repair shop and make them fix it...but in all honesty, safely getting the car towed back to the other city would probably have cost at least half as much as the coming repair, with no guarantee that the other shop would admit fault and fix it. So we decided to move forward with the repair at Bemudo, and with documentation from Uche, I would try and get some kind of compensation from the other shop. The repair didn't go quickly, but it was also days before Christmas and I was heading out of town for 8 days, so there wasn't a terrible rush. The folks are Bemudo were in reliably constant contact with me about what needed to be done and what it would cost, as well as giving me the information I needed to argue my situation with the other shop. So it has been a little over a year since it all went diggity-down and my car has remained running. The work gets done and it apparently seems to get done well. Uche and any other staff at Bemudo gave me the impression that they cared about me and my situation. I don't want to have to go back to them....but if something were to happen to my automobile, Bemudo would be my first choice of repair shops. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! First of all, I could never get through to the shop, secondly they tried to rip me off with some bogus repairs, so I decided to take my car to another shop. They never once talked about any charges due until the tow truck SHOWED UP! That's when they decided to hold my car for ransom, telling me I owed them an $89.99 consultation fee, which I eventually agreed to pay half of just to get them to release my car. THEN THEY BROKE MY DRIVERS SIDE MIRROR BEFORE IT WAS TOWED OUT!!!! Wow! Not just a scam, but illegal af! You've been warned! read more

This is THE BEST automotive shop in Louisville!! Best customer service with one of the most honest technicians I have ever known. Took my car previously to a HORRIBLE shop on Old Shep named Tom's Service who lied and told me I needed a new engine and refused to diagnose the car properly. I immediately towed it to Bemudo Automotive who took the time to diagnose it and advised my engine was fine. It was the belt and tensioner pulley. This mechanic is honest and saved me money. My car was making an awful noise so I took it to a shop and they said the alternator, serpentine belt and pulleys needed to be replaced. They quoted me an amount that seemed fairly high. I contacted Bemudo on advice from a friend and they were a huge help. The nice woman at the front desk looked up all the parts over the phone and quoted me a different price, a price more than 200 dollars LESS than the original quote. Needless to say I brought my car to Bemudo right away. They had the parts ordered and the repair done the very next day. My car sounds perfect now. Hats off to them for being professional, helpful, doing quailty work in a timely manner and being an overall joy to interact with. I'll be bringing my car here from now on. read more

Uche and Danielle were amazing. They explained everything they were doing, and helped me understand what were the most important fixes given my limited budget. My car is getting up there in miles, and has seen some hard roads, and they were very understanding. Most mechanics treat you like you're dumb, and try to slide in hidden fees, but their candor and humanity will have me going only there from now on. I was recently referred to Bemudo Automotive by a friend of mine. He said they did great work on his car so when I needed some work on my car I decided to give them a try. I took my 2005 Chevy Impala in because I was having some issues with my heat not working and the temperature gauge shooting up like the car was about to overheat. Uche, who is the owner of the shop, was quick to get me in and take a look at my car. He went over the car with a fine tooth comb, called me back and had me come back in so he could show me and go over in detail what needed to be fixed on my car. I felt that he was honest and forthright, as well as thorough. He replaced my thermostat, water pump, intake gaskets, and had my car almost looking brand new. He promised me that he would have my car back to me the same day and he held true to his promise. His prices were reasonable and his work was superb. I could not have been happier with the service and would recommend this shop to anyone needing any type of work done on your vehicle. I will definitely be a repeat customer. read more
