I reached out to this shop hoping for a quick tune-up on my 2004 F-150 4.6L Triton just spark plugs and ignition coils. I had already purchased brand new genuine OEM Motorcraft parts myself. All I needed was the labor for the install to save some time, since I'm perfectly capable of doing the job myself. They refused to use my parts, even though they were OEM. The policy is apparently no customer-supplied parts, period. I understand not wanting to use customer parts for more complex repairs, but for a simple tune-up like spark plugs and coils, it really shouldn't have been a problem with genuine OEM Motorcraft parts. It felt like it was purely about marking up the parts themselves rather than any real concern. For something as basic and straightforward as plugs and coils, this rule is ridiculous and frustrating. Ended up doing it myself. I tried calling other places and no one would return my call. I found Kavanaugh's on Yelp and read the good reviews and decided to give them a call. Someone actually answered the phone and was very friendly. She told me I could stop by the following day and someone would look at my car. I stopped in and only waited a few minutes. A nice gentleman walked out and looked at my seat, and we walked back in the building and he gave me an estimate. I needed the back hard plastic part of my passenger seat replaced. He ordered the part and it came in within a week. I went in today and they fixed the seat within five minutes. Very reasonable price and sudden service. You can't find that anymore. Other places would not even return a phone call. I would highly recommend this business. read more

Excellent shop, friendly and fast professionals. I punctured a tire on the highway and needed a patch to get to work. They were the closest shop and were able to help basically as soon as they opened. I definitely didn't think I'd be sitting in my office only an hour late after a 30 minute, very affordable fix. I have never wished to be able to give more than 5 stars on a review than this one. The friendliness, kindness, and exceptional work they do is immeasurable. Never have I felt more cared for. They make every phone call important & work hard for each and every person. If you are looking for service on your vehicle, I highly, highly recommend them. Very disappointed. Came here while visiting family with a recurring engine rattle/tick and after a nearly $200 diagnostic was told it was probably nothing. Turns out it's a camshaft going bad which is pretty much the opposite of nothing. Far too reliant on a plug in diagnostic (which is less effective or thorough on older cars) and didn't even try listening to the engine at the RPMs I told them made the noise, which the good mechanic who diagnosed the issue did almost first thing. I will never return here and would not recommend it to anyone. read more

Took car in November 2022. they said it would be ready end of December. i called and they said it wasn't. i was told a few more weeks. i waited and called. it was not ready. was told it would be ready by jan. 23 i called, it was not ready. was told alignment wasnt't right. but, it would be ready next day. by afternoon. i called and was told it's still not ready. I can't comment on quality of repair but i can say unequivocally their service is not very good. i have to call them to find out what's going on. it would be nice if they woulda called and said ' hey we don't have it ready yet!' i will write another review when i actually get car back about the quality of repairs. hopefully better than the service read more

These people are thieves!!!! They will charge an ungodly amount for things you did not ask for and not explain the charges that have been assessed. I told them specifically exactly what I needed done. ( I knew what was wrong with the vehicle). They did not explain that there would be a 138 check and advise charge even though i told them I would specifically told them the issue. I declined their services and the mechanic told me he would keep my car until I paid the 138 even though is was not advised of this charge. I will never go them again. Awful. read more

My tail lights were out, they put in new bulbs, drained some water from the covers, drilled a small hole in the plastic to drain away future water buildup. The job took 30 minutes. I was charged $140, which I thought was excessive. They were nice, friendly and quick. I was happy to have my tail lights work. I would go back, but I would discus the fees first LOL. read more

There were issues getting the part I needed. Some was Kavanaugh's fault and some was the fault of the vendor they used. They took full responsibility for their errors and corrected the issue with no problems. The owner himself kept me in the loop with excellent communication. Things happen and in the end they were very honest and took great care in making sure things got done correctly. The job was done quickly and looks great. They had our Mercedes' truck for nearly six months. When they set my time to pick it up, it took 5 hours to get It. After I wrote a check, they finally gave me the keys. I went out to the truck, and hit had a whole the size of my hand in the side... then the truck would not even start... it was laughable. I canceled my check, and I'm getting quotes for all the damages done to the truck. They tried to tell me it was my fault for leaving the truck with them that they caused all the damage? I was very impressed with the professionalism with everyone I came in contact with at the shop. I came in with an issue I believed was the problem and after they took a look it turned out that it was a whole different problem. They took the time to show me with my own eyes and very clearly explained the actual issue in a kind a courteous way. Given the actual issue they were fair in their estimate to fix the problem in a timely manner. They had most of the parts in stock and ready to go there was only one part they didn't have and they had it overnighted so I could get back on the road as quick as possible. I will be using their business for any auto issues I have in the future and will be recommending their services to anyone who needs any vehicle maintenance rather it be big or small in the future. read more

I got hit hard by a vehicle behind me last November. AAA recommended a few places near me to get my car checked out and fixed. On a crisp Saturday morning, Kavanaugh's did an estimate on my car and had it sent to my insurance in the same day. The damage was extensive, but I got my car back within 10 days of dropping it off with Kavanaugh's. The front office for this body shop is so professional. Everyone greeted me, explained the issues fixing my car might face, and they explained every step they would take to fix my vehicle. At no point did I feel ripped off, nor did the workers here attempt to make me feel like I wasn't a worthwhile customer. When I needed to get to my rental car, they called the shuttle from the rental place for me and I was picked up in just a few minutes. Kavanaugh's also does regular car maintenance as well as body repair. It's not the typical place I would usually check out since their shop is in the middle of a neighborhood, but with service this good, they are on my list. read more

Took my truck in to check my drive line for 40 mph noise ( before taking the truck to them I placed my rear axle on jack stands removed the tire assembly and brake drums and spun axles up to 40 mph noise still there) I told them please check the drive line for noise. They called and said they were ready to precede with repairs I asked them what they found and was told tires and wheels. I told them that's not it I want them to put the truck on there lift pull wheels and brake drums. She said she would have them do that. I called back ask them what they found and she indicated the mechanic said it's the tires. I would be glad to pay them to do what I asked them to do but his mind was made up it was the tires and didn't do what I requested. They balanced them took it for a test drive and said that removed some of the noise but they thought changing the shocks (might fix it) When I put the truck on jack stands the truck was not in motion. To me that eliminates the shocks. I told them figure what I owe you and I picked up my truck and got out of there. Can't express how disappointed I am. read more

Excellent Service, Excellent Workmanship, Friendliest People I'm from the East Coast now & I rented a car (did not take out the insurance), dinged the back of the car badly as I was backing in to a space. I hit a concrete wall that stuck out 6 inches further than the back wall. I called Kavanaugh's because they were recommended by AAA & because they were the only one on the AAA list opened on Saturday. When I arrived, they immediately gave me an estimate - it was much more than I anticipated. I hemmed & hawed for about an hour, then I decided to go with the repair. They worked past their closing time, drove me back & forth to my hotel, and rushed to get the work done because I had to catch a flight. I was afraid the rental company was going to find out because the car looked so much better than when I first rented it. Kavanaugh's is a life saver!
