No walk along the lake in Wayzata downtown is complete without a stop in to Ben & Jerry's. This location is also fairly close to the town beach/playground so you can load them up in ice cream and then burn it off running around. On weekends they are often quite busy, but they move things along quickly so you never wait long. The staff is friendly and the ice cream is typical B&J. While the have seating inside and outside, we like to cross the street and eat by the lake. read more

This is a great place to get ice cream and stroll along the lake. I had a marshmallow ice cream with chunks of cookie and cookie dough. (I can't remember the name :(). The service was fast and organized with multiple people dipping up ice cream. Why do they have wood spoons?!? We ordered a birthday cake. First, the attendant couldn't find it. Thankfully, another employee was able to locate it. The appearance of the cake was nice- for an ice cream cake. Second, the frosting. I don't know what kind of "frosting" is used, but it is disgusting. Honestly, it ruins the flavor of the ice cream. Third, when we cut the cake we noticed huge areas that were just hollow. Yes, holes in the ice cream. How does this happen? It's ice cream and undoubtedly, it's made in a mold. The hubby, puppy, and I decided to get some ice cream on this hot 98 degree day! Lots of variety of different flavors. I'm a sucker for anything banana and chocolate so of course had to get Chunky Monkey. The servers were super nice and let us sample a few flavors. I asked if they offer pup cups and they said yes, either vanilla ice cream or whipped cream! Had to get my pup a scoop of vanilla ice cream! Anya says : " it was PAWfect! A popular place on a hot summer evening! This is the perfect location for an Ice Cream Shop, and I'm so glad it is a Ben & Jerry's. We stopped here after a nice dinner at the nearby Grocer's Table, and just as the sun was setting. As it was a 95 degree day, this was surely a popular place. I was amazed at how quickly and efficiently the team at Ben & Jerry's worked to deliver ice cream to a ton of customers. I tried a new one for me: Coconut Seven Layer Bar. AMAZING! The small is a nice big scoop, and I opted for a cup, since I knew it would melt in a minute once we got outside to the heat. We went to sit across the street on one of the ample park benches, and enjoyed a nice sunset along with our delicious ice cream. Stopped here for dessert and was greeted with a cute picturesque ice cream shop! I was able to try multiple flavors before I settled on strawberry banana in a cone. I got the small size and didn't even end up finishing it because it was so much ice cream to me. The shop is SO beautiful and I was in love with the clouds on the ceilings. You can buy a whole pint of ice cream as well as smoothies and cones. The employees were friendly and professional. There is a restroom in the back & a bigger table by it so you can bring multiple friends. This is a great place to stop by on your way to exploring the beautiful city of Wayzata! read more

They had numerous ice cream flavors and interesting combinations. Everyone enjoyed their choice. Everyone got small cups which were pretty generous portions. It's not a cheap place, but it's worth treating yourself once in awhile. My only complaint is that they didn't have any sugar free or low sugar options, so I wasn't able to eat more than a couple of bites. This Ben&Jerry's is nothing special. It is located in a gorgeous older building on the shores of Lake Minnetonka. This is where it stops; I love the ice cream (even though I can't eat it because of my lactose), but come here for the sorbet. The flavors are generally mixed (they don't seem to clean their utensils well) and I find chunks of ice cream mixed in with the sorbet. The store is staffed by nothing but teenagers; this would be fine (I'm all about teenagers learning the value of a dollar) if they actually wanted to be there. They tend to be a little rude, give a lot of side eye, and you can just see the judgement in their eyes (at least that was my last visit). The inside of the store isn't kept well! There was ice cream on the floor, dripping down the woodwork on the front of the coolers, and overall had a sticky feeling all around. I honestly don't feel it's that difficult to spray some windex and clean it up. This place would be fantastic, if they hired individuals that wanted to be there and cleaned up the interior a little more! Will I be back? Probably, because I love Ben&Jerry's and the views are wonderful. read more

Good for what it is- deluxe ice cream. Expect to pay a minimum of $5 per person for a single scoop basic cone because that is about the going rate for ice cream here. Luckily there is tons of flavors to choose from! My favorite is The Tonight Dough, very good flavor and texture. Would definitely come back to try another flavor. Located right across from the lake with a cross walk, it's nice to grab a cone and walk across the street and eat alongside the lake in the shade and watch the trains go by on the railroad tracks. Super convenient location from downtown so you can easily walk over and grab some ice cream while shopping or out to dinner. The physical storefront is nothing special, pretty small. Did have a good selection of ice cream and none were out of stock from what I could see. Super young staff but were very friendly. They do have a weird POS system which is odd considering how big of a company they are but nothing crazy. You can also buy ice cream cakes here if you do not want to buy scoops. The Wayzata location is great because you can eat by the lake (though construction makes that a bit difficult right now). This is a fun little ice cream shop with a fantastic location. It's right on the main drag in downtown Wayzata and right on the waterfront. The city beach is only two blocks away. It's perfectly located for those hot summer days. The summer staff is generally teenagers working a traditional summer job. The service is pretty quick - even with long lines. You can sample any flavor you like, and they have quite the variety to choose from. They offer bottled beverages, which is nice because they are portable, but I'd prefer fountain beverages. The bottled ones are often warm, because the ice bucket near the cash register only holds a handful of bottles. There is limited indoor seating, but there are also benches and tables immediately outside - and more benches along the garden rows by the railroad tracks across the street.
