We came here for saturday brunch, it was a beautiful day outside so we decided to sit on the patio. the way you order is kind of interesting, you grab your number, set it on your table and then stand in line to order and give them your table number. then they will bring it out to you. we ordered a few items: avocado toast, lobster roll and the breakfast quesadilla. all was very good, a touch on the saltier side but delicious nonetheless. just an fyi- the lobster roll comes cold and almost like a salad type filling rather than chunks of lobster. definitely would get the avocado toast again and maybe try some other items ((: read more

The crispy hot chicken sandwich was excellent--the spicy pickle slaw really stood out. I loved the brioche bun and appreciated that the chicken was hand-breaded. The only confusing part was the ordering process. I ordered a glass of wine and wasn't told I needed to pick it up from the bar, so I expected it to come out with the food. I understand the concept, but it wasn't very clear when walking in--where to order, how food is delivered, and that drinks are picked up separately. The staff also weren't very engaging, either at the counter, when delivering food, or at the bar. A more welcoming experience might have encouraged us to order additional drinks. That said, it's a really cute spot, and I'd definitely give it another try next time I'm in town. read more

I was visiting a friend from Los Angeles and she brought me here for lunch. I was impressed by the location and the overall aesthetics of this place. It's located right by a gorgeous lake so you truly get to experience the beauty Minnesota has to offer. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich which came with a wonderful side of seasoned fries (seriously get them!). The pickles were also perfect. They have a bar area where you order your drinks, I got the lemonade which was also incredible! Not too sweet, the perfect summer bev. My friends ordered a lemon and lavender cookie and peanut butter and chocolate cheesecake. Both phenomenal. The service is quick and the people are very nice! But that was obvious from the moment I landed I noticed how friendly people were in Minnesota. I had a great time in Wayzata! read more

The shakshuka seemed very salty, I could barely eat it and my partner barely wanted it either, and I usually love salt and I usually love shakshuka. We also tried the pizza special and it was fine. I wouldn't recommend their pizza. I was surprised they charged for refills on cups of coffee. Basically subpar food but expensive. That being said the place was cute and bustling, the service was kind and friendly, and fun to shop around their little gift spot. That's why I'd give it a 3 star. Nice location in downtown Wayzata. Definitely a popular place! But just don't think the food is anything to write home about. read more

I've been here several times since they've opened over the course of the last few years but kept forgetting to write a review! I've tried the breakfast pizza, pancakes, pastries, and most recently the smoked salmon salad and the soft serve. Everything I've had is delicious. The service can be a bit slow for dining in especially during peak hours, even during the weekdays. But the food delivers every time. I absolutely loved the salmon salad. Give me goat cheese on a salad any day! The salmon was perfectly cooked as well. I tried a Mocktail too - although I forgot the name, it was pretty tasty overall. My favorite was the soft serve. Unfortunately they ran out of the seasonal flavors and a couple other specialty flavors but they let us customize our own. I got vanilla soft serve with salted caramel and cookie pieces. It was pretty tasty! The cookie pieces were just ok - kind of dry and hard, not chewy. But the salted caramel was phenomenal. read more

Food: Decent salads. Large portions. My favorite has been the Six-Grain Harvest Bowl. Ambiance: Cute ambiance inside and outside seating as well and it's mostly shaded. Location: Great location with lots of parking nearby. Service: Be sure to check in with the host to get a number and table assigned before getting into the line that's usually kind of long for food. Grocers table is one of my favorite spots in Wayzata. Their breakfast and coffee is great and I love that they switch from a cafe to more restaurant style for the evening. Their food tastes fresh, and they do a great job with their menu options. If you're going in the morning I would go earlier as it definitely fills up. They do have decaf espresso which I love as a decaf person. However today I ordered decaf and didn't get it which was disappointing especially since most people order decaf for medical or other reasons, not just for fun. The past two times I've ordered it was decaf though so hopefully just a fluke today, but I'll be more careful next time. read more

Ice cream is the best! If you are in Wayzata stop here for the ice cream. They have many other wonderful things too - a deli full of salads and a coffee bar. You can also get wood-fired pizza. The service is attentive. Many people are working there to make your experience good. The prices are high. Otherwise, I would give this five stars because the quality is amazing. A small 8 oz. container of the deli salad was $7.00 for orzo and $10.00 for chicken salad. That is just too much and a bummer for someone who wants to get it often. The vibe is very cool. read more

I've only heard good things about The Grocer's Table. I highly recommend having a reservation because this place was busy. I was able to slip into a street parking spot, otherwise there is a parking ramp right next to the restaurant. Having never been here before I entered the restaurant from Broadway Ave S, but the actual entrance (closest to the host stand) is on Mill St E. We split the mocktail flight; which i highly recommend. It's a way to try four different drinks without the commitment of four different drinks. The quantity is maybe the equivalent of two full drinks. I ordered the Crispy Chicken Green Goddess salad. I would eat the green goddess dressing daily. It was a large salad. I think if two people wanted to split it they wanted to. We also ordered seasonal flavor of soft serve to split as a sweet treat. Now this was for sure large enough to split between two people. Save this place as your next girls dinner location. As it is the perfect place to dress elevated casual, have good food, and sit in the perfect ambiance to yap. read more

Went back to grocers table to try out their dinner menu and it was a great experience! We made a reservation and were seated instantly. Our server was very friendly and started us off with drinks. The black cat was delicious and the little biscotti it came with made it feel more elevated than a traditional espresso martini. Both of the pizzas we tried were delicious! The wood fire crust was perfection and both pizzas were extremely flavorful! They also were the perfect size. It's great that grocers table is able to do a nice, sit down dinner just as well as their more casual breakfast atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back for more! read more

There's a lot that I like about The Grocer's Table. Loves: - The food is always fresh, delicious, and there are always plenty of options; the breakfast Quesadilla is my favorite! Breakfast/lunch/dinner, you can't go wrong with a mealtime here. - Seasonal options for both food and drink are always available and rotating. - Full bar serving speciality cocktails and fantastic wine options. - The bakery and fun dessert items are some of the best you'll sample in Wayzata! (Big shout out to their baker/pastry chef!) - I love the little shop they have and all of the unique, locally sourced kitchen and home items they sell. - I love the views from Lake Minnetonka if you choose to dine al fresco on their patio. - I love that I've never been rushed, whether I've come to eat and stayed to work a couple of hours, or I'm having a reunion with family/friends, regardless of how busy the restaurant may be, I appreciate never feeling rushed out. - The space itself has an eye-catching country luxe aesthetic; super cute. What doesn't drive me wild: - The coffee's... they're a hit or a miss. The baristas are friendly; it's not a service issue. I'm unsure if it's the bean or simply the combinations I've chosen. For example, the "Latte of the Moment: S'mores" as an iced latte with oat milk, is not that girl. For what latte's cost these days, it's never a fun time when I have a "miss" experience here with the coffee. - Reservations are not accepted. - The crowding for the business is fanta$$$tic, but for patrons, it can feel overwhelming. During the warmer months, there is additional seating available on the patio. However, if you plan to dine with a large party (or even just a party of four), it's recommended to arrive early, especially on weekends. - This last point recently occurred, so I can't say this is something I've noticed happens all the time, but once is enough to mention it. During extreme busyness, while I was waiting for my meal in the takeout area, I noticed an employee on the line working as an "Expo", ensuring the dishes were being served correctly, rearranging food that was already on the window ready to be served to the customer, with his bare hands. No gloves, no hand-washing in between. As a culinary school graduate, I know all too well the significance and scrutiny kitchens face in relation to ServSafe and proper food handling practices, regardless of how busy an establishment gets, especially (and traditionally) the person on the Expo line should be of the highest qualification and awareness as it relates to safe food handling practices. I was shocked to see servers coming up to him to grab plates, the cashiers, who, although busy taking orders, could also see him "finalizing" dishes yet no one mentioned anything to him about putting on gloves or washing his hands. I could've assumed the hands may have been washed before approaching the line, but watching him touch his hair, bite his fingernails, and then rearrange food on the plates made me cringe internally when I noticed this. My hope in mentioning this is that, if the restaurants read this, they can offer retraining to equip better whoever is Expoing their line. Besides and otherwise, The Grocer's Table has always been a place in Wayzata known for its great food, and I wouldn't say that the minor hiccups I experienced change that for me. The misses are tweaks surrounding training and consistency, but at the heart of this establishment, there's a lot of great food, so I would not discourage you from checking them out if you find yourself hungry in the Lake Minnetonka area. read more

We waited 45 minutes after sitting down before our server even came back to take our order -- way too long, especially considering the place wasn't slammed. When the food finally came, it was just... average. The pizza was nothing special, and the turkey burger was just okay. What really bothered me was that you have to pay an extra $7 just for fries on the side -- for something so basic, that feels really overpriced. For the price point and the long wait, I expected much better service and food that stood out. Unfortunately, it just didn't deliver. The restaurant has a beautiful and authentic, and the overall vibe is truly inviting. My friend and I had high expectations based on the setting alone. Unfortunately, the food and the follow‑up service did not meet those expectations. We both ordered the avocado toast, and both plates arrived with visible mold on the bread. This was extremely concerning from a food‑safety standpoint. We were told that our meals would be refunded if we chose to stay, but the refund never appeared. Five days later, we called to follow up. We were transferred to the manager on duty, but the call was disconnected, and no one reached back out. As of now, the refund still has not been issued. It is disappointing to experience such a serious oversight in food quality, followed by a lack of resolution. The atmosphere is wonderful, but the food safety issue and the unfulfilled refund promise raise significant concerns. read more

This really is THE chocolate chip cookie. It is perfectly soft and flavorful- you really can't go wrong here. The butterscotch coconut cookie is also fabulous. We ordered the corn chowder with bacon (DELICIOUS, would recommend), the tuna salad (strong on the mustard, not my favorite), mixed salad (delicious and fresh), BLT sandwich, grains bowl, brown butter rice krispy treat (yum!), and chocolate chip cookie (pretty good). Came here on a Saturday morning and it was busy, but surprisingly the wait was only 20 min for a table. But there is a cute little market inside with goodies that you can look at and purchase while you wait. When you sit down, you don't have a waitress and instead you have to get up to order your food and drinks at the cashier. Remember your table number because that's how they'll be able to find you to deliver your food! And the food was absolutely delicious!! I would reorder everything but unfortunately so much of their menu looked amazing, I'm going to have to try something new next time! Went for breakfast with friends to the Grocers Table. It's an attractive small place that has a real coffee shop feel, with lots of food and kitchen merch items for sale spread through the shop. We had a party of four, but most of 4 seat tables were taken by individuals with laptops or devices - it seems to be a popular spot for 2 person business meetings. Overall I was negatively surprised by a few things. First is service, there really isn't any - you go to a counter to place your order and get a number for table delivery (yet they expect a full 20% tip!) you go to a second counter to pick up your beverage of choice. Go back for coffee refills and pay 1/2 price of a full cup. Breakfast food options were pretty limited from what most places offer, and a basic eggs, bacon, and toast cost double what most menus offer. Service is the delivery of the order you placed at the counter to your table (oh, and to take your plates with your last bite to keep tables turning)... The food was good, but overpriced. Workers were polite, but service was minimal (not worth tipping!). The place was attractive, but filled with merchandise and people with laptops. Breakfast was good, but there are too many other places to go that I feel appreciate my business more... read more

When you are really unfamiliar with a place and show up to something as jam-packed as The Grocer's Table over the noon hour, you might be a little taken aback. This place was overwhelmingly busy and had little real direction on what/where to go if you've never been, so be aware! Otherwise, the food (albeit with a bit of a Wayzata price tag) is pretty good. The GOAT pizza was solid, but very flimsy and a little on the doughy side. For the price, I'd definitely expect a bit more toppings. The Strip Steak sandwich had a unique composition, but fared roughly average. The real homerun was the Butterscotch Coconut Cookie! An absolute must! read more

Finally tried Grocer's table and it was delightful! I love how bright and open the restaurant is; the light was coming in from all of the windows and it just felt nice. The menu is concise and appetizing. We had the grilled octopus appetizer which was so good with the verde sauce. I got the crispy chicken salad as my main which was also very good. Our friends got the meatball appetizer and the lobster cacio pepe which were also good. As far as drinks, my friend got the wine flight and I tried the Grocer's bootleg cocktail with Vodka, I really liked that drink! The fresh mint really pops. I had a wonderful evening at Grocer's Table. They are a market, cafe, and wine bar in downtown Wayzata, Minnesota. They offer freshly prepared foods, made-to-order menu items, and a variety of retail and grocery provisions. They also have a scratch kitchen that serves made-in-house prepared foods and menu items.  It has a casual, cozy, and trendy atmosphere that I really appreciated. We took a look over their to go offerings and various grocery items - there is a fantastic selection of olive oils, pastas, and more for cooking at home. But, on this evening we wanted to enjoy what the chef and team had to prepare using fresh ingredients. To drink we went with  a Super Tuscan from Argiano NC. It was a nice pairing with all of our foods. To start we went with a Charcuterie & Cheese Board and Winter Salad. The board had a nice selection of pickled vegetables, cheese, and meats. The baguette was served warm and went well with the jam and cheese. It was fun mix and matching the various items on the board. The salad stole the show for me though, it was a bed of baby lolla rosa lettuce topped with smoked chicken, roasted carrots, blood orange, dried cherries, crispy prosciutto, manchego, spiced pistachios, and a sorghum vinaigrette. So much flavor from the smoky chicken to the citrusy orange to the tangy and acidic vinaigrette.  For main, we went with a pizza and one of their sides. Seasonal Pizza: It used fresh ingredients including speck, acorn squash, fontina, kale, and a variety of other winter vegetables. Nicely balanced flavors and generously topped. Brussel Sprouts: A TON of brussel sprouts with pancetta and parmesan. The parmesan was starting to melt into a beautiful almost sauce that I could have just eaten by itself. The Grocer's Table has cute interior and fabulous bar and patio seating. I will note that it can be hard to find an open table at times and for service you do place the orders yourself at the counter unless you are sitting at the bar! The food does make up for this and recommend the farmhouse burrito and the all day breakfast pizza! The burrito comes with all the sauce you could need- salsa verde & smoked crème fraîche. Was so impressed with the flavors in both of these and are the perfect start to the day. The deli counter always has seasonal salads and other options! The elote salad is something you need to get. Warning, you will eat it all in one sitting. The chocolate chip cookie doesn't look like one that I wouldn't normally enjoy but it exceeded my expectations! We even got a second one to go. They always offer a different mimosa of the moment, and it is always refreshing and fits the season. The black cat is their version of an espresso martini and has sweeter notes. The Grocer's Table is a market, cafe, and wine bar all wrapped into a bright and comfortable space in Wayzata. It has a great following and for good reason. In addition to breakfast, lunch, and dinner, they offer an assortment of small household gifts and food items (think specialty sauces, crackers, cheeses, meats, pickled veggies). These items are dispersed in little displays throughout the various seating arrangements. I would say the service can be mixed. At times it is very inefficient, with one team member working to take orders from the deli line at breakfast and lunch. I have also experienced great service at dinner when we had a team member formally assigned to our table. Expect the space to be lively, cheerful, and crowded on the weekend, especially during the Holidays. The food is all quite good. A variety of American staples round out the menus without being overwhelming. For breakfast, I've ordered their daily quiche on two occasions. A hefty slice is plated with a small side of arugula. The crust is buttery and flakey and the egg and veggie fillings have been flavorful with good texture. I also recently tried their breakfast burrito which was gigantic and stuffed full with eggs, cheese, potatoes, and breakfast sausage. It lacks flavor on its own but comes with excellent sauces (salsa verde and smoked crème fraîche). For lunch and dinner, I typically order a sandwich. Their Spanish Tuna Melt is tasty on perfectly toasted caraway onion rye. They used to have a Blackened Salmon BLT which was heavenly, but their regular BLTA is just okay. They tend to change up their sandwich menu so many of the others I've tried are no longer offered (Italian, Chicken Avocado BLT). Also, don't skip their thick, soft, and chewy chocolate chip cookie, best enjoyed warmed up in the air fryer at home. On the whole, an adorable space in the beautiful Wayzata offering classic, quality American fare. read more
