The burger was juicy and the bun toasted perfectly. We got the family style waffle fry to share, I would say it feeds 3 people. The waffle fry is crispy while being soft on the inside. We got seasoned sour cream and Chipotle mayo for dipping ($1.50 each) and the dipping containers are a big size. Definitely recommend the seasoned sour cream!! Snuffy's is a classic institution in the cities. The malts are enormous. My son got half of a chocolate and it came with the remaining left over shake which was almost enough for another full glass. Service is always speedy and efficient. We went there because of the waffle fries with seasoned sour cream and my love for beer battered onion rings. Don't miss this place. I went here with my daughter-in-law and my twin granddaughters for a girls' night. I used to go to the original Snuffy's in Edina when I was in high school and returned to that location with my own kids in the 1990s, but I'd never been to the Minnetonka store. We arrived at 5:30 on a Friday and the front was already full, so we were seated in "the dungeon" in the back - a nice area with murals on the wall but absolutely zero cell service. They do not offer free WiFi. The girls agonized over their shake flavors finally settling on chocolate-cherry and chocolate, while Mom got strawberry (lots of fresh strawberry chunks!) and Granny got fudge. The shakes are delicious and a full shake means you will fill your glass three times. The girls got half shakes and I was kind of wishing I had, too! So cheeseburgers and chicken strips for DIL & the girls, waffle fries with seasoned sour cream for the table (holy cow that was a huge basket of fries!), and I ordered a patty melt. The regular fries were ok, the waffle fries were better but not great. The seasoned sour cream was pretty meh. As for my patty melt I should have realized that the menu stating "all burgers are cooked medium well" was a red flag for an overcooked, dry burger which is what I got. The cheese, grilled onions, and added bacon couldn't save it. The grilled marble rye didn't help. Even ketchup and mustard couldn't save how dry this sandwich was. I managed to eat half and quit. I always love coming to Snuffy's, and I feel this is the best one. I love the wall paintings and the coziness of it. I tend to always get the grilled chicken sandwich, and this is the only place I get dill dip. It's so good! The fries are also very good! And of course can't forget the malts! I love a good burger joint! I ordered a Snuffy's burger with grilled onions (the grilled onions are a free add on!) and it was sooo yummy! I ordered a single serving of fries but you can absolutely split this between 2 or 3 people. We also ordered a family size serving of waffle fries with ranch. HUGE portion size also. The banana malt shake was absolutely amazing! I don't like when places say they have banana shakes or ice cream and you can taste the artificial banana flavoring. Snuffy's does use real bananas which was a huge plus in my book! So good! It was a little loud and hard to have conversations or even hear the music but out waitress was so kind and attentive and constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed without being overly pushy. Round 2 of shelter at home ordering. We went the take-out route this time and liked it better than the delivery. The staff was super friendly and helpful when ordering. Paying ahead of time is the key. You pull up and they deliver your food to your window. Like a drive-in. The food was great. The waffles fries were hot and crispy. The burgers were still hot and juicy. Their buns are killer. Kids loved their chicken tenders and mini corn dogs. So glad this place is still serving their delicious food. Quarantine update: we couldn't stay away from our neighborhood Snuffy's. So happy to see we can still order from doordash and have it delivered. We had our usuals, the delicious burgers (and the mini corn dogs for our youngest. She loves them). The burgers arrived hot and still juicy. I went with the pepper jack cheese burger with grilled onions. Decided to add lettuce, tomato, and jalapeño from home. We had a hiccup with our fries, but they took care of the issue. All the burgers were great. And I had to get an Oreo milk shake. Soooo good. Thank you Snuffy's for staying open and giving us some delicious food. Keep stron This is a fun place to go with the kids. We stopped in for a treat after the last day of school. After passing Snuffy's several times, we had never been in so it seemed as good a time as any! The kids got floats and I split a chocolate malt with my spouse. He also ordered some fries, which we devoured. I ordered the smaller option of the malts and it was plenty for two. It was delicious and the kids really enjoyed it. The location is older and has t aged particularly well but it's clean and the service was great. The service is always good. This is a great place to bring your kids. I crave their malts. They just know how to make them right, and they completely understand what you mean when you say extra thick! The burgers, fries, and onion rings are wonderful! The perfect amount of grease. I don't know why it's taken me so long to give Snuffy's a try. My daughter used to work in the same strip mall (at Lakewinds Coop) and my son has been here numerous times with friends and dates. The other day after helping out with some yard work at my house, my son said he was craving a burger and malt. I said it would be my treat and ask if he had a place in mind. He said Snuffy's and off we went. I immedialtely liked the funky, classic interior with pictures of vintage sports teams, the old Excelsior Amusement Park (of which I have fond memories) and other assorted memorabilia. It was nearly full but no line in front of us. We were promptly seated and and I began to peruse the menu. My son didn't bother with the menu since he already knew he was going to order a bacon cheeseburger, fries and a chocolate malt. I decided on the "Spicy Snuffy" (Pepper Jack cheese, jalapeno bacon, lettuce, tomato and chopped jalapenos and a side of chipotle mayo). Since son was getting fries I chose onion rings. My burger was very good and I thought that the bacon packed an unexpected punch that really added to the flavor profile. The oninon rings were on par. The only slight disappointment was with a malt that I ordered to go. I went with chocolate/banana and requested extra malt powder. Opening it up at home, I found it thin and soupy with little malt flavor. Plus, instead of being smoothly blended in, the banana chunks had all fallen to the bottom and congealed together. Next time I might skip the malt (I really don't need the extra calories) or go with basic chocolate and enjoy it in-house rather than take-home. Service was prompt and friendly. This is your cute, little diner that has a flash from the past feel to it. It's a little old and outdated inside but that's what makes it fun and special. I love snuffys food. They have a basic menu with burgers, sandwiches, soups and salads. They also have sodas, malts and floats. Their french fries and onion rings come as a separate order on the side. The fries are pretty plain without salt, so you can salt them however you want. The onion rings were good though. The Big Mike burger was my favorite. The malts also hit that spot. Yooo ok so obviously this place is cute for the fact that it's modeled after an old-school Malt Shop, dig that most definitely. But also it feels like a cute little neighborhood restaurant where you can just be yourself and not put on a show like at a typical ~high-end~ place. There's parking available in the lot and you can ask to get the food to go or sit down and they still have super speedy service if you are on a time crunch. Our server was super friendly and patient with us as well, happy to answer all of our questions. Highly recommend the Spicy Snuffy Burger, just enough kick to get the blood flowing without being overwhelming. My favorite part though is obviously the awesome variety of malts and ice cream concoctions. I was feeling like I wanted smooth, creamy, and classic so I opted for the chocolate although I was also tempted by the chocolate/coffee combo and the Oreo options. All the rage right now: millennial burger joints that serve $13.00 bison burgers with truffle oil and seven kinds of artisanal aioli. And then there's Snuffy's. Thank goodness for Snuffy's. We went for Father's Day after my husband rejected all the fancy suggestions, and the place was packed with happy dads and kids of all ages. The burgers (we had beef and turkey) were juicy and flavorful. We also had onion rings -- a little too greasy, but yum! Check plus for vegetarian options -- my daughter had a grilled veggie sandwich. I had a flawless chocolate ice cream soda that was about the most delicious thing possible on a 95 degree day. The malts were a bit disappointing. We ordered cookie dough and a chocolate coffee concoction, and they weren't terrible, but they weren't as creamy and thick as they could have been. Service was very friendly and quick. They are professionals in creating the classic cheeseburgers, grilled cheeses, chicken tenders, fries, etc! If you are looking for a fast, tasty, greasy meal, look no further because you will find it here. All their food is exceptionally tasty and you can't go wrong with the prices. And of course... their MALTS are AMAZING They have every kind of flavor and concoction you can think of when it comes to a malt or shake. Came here after an expensive and disappointing visit to Galaxy Drive-In. I realized we probably should have come here to start with. But no matter, it was dessert time. And our family wasn't disappointed. Had a Coke float, the kids had half malts, and my wife and a strawberry sundae, all were good. This place has been around since the stone ages, but it's still clean. Love the historical photos and newspaper stories on display at the entrance. Hot dog was gone pretty quickly (had just finished a game) Snuffy burger was nicely prepared, wasn't too spicy, would have liked more kick to the chipotle mayo. Bacon and blue cheese burger was flavorful and not over cooked. I think Snuffy's is fine and it wasn't bad. I've been to a few other places like this. This was pretty much the same as the rest of them. The burger we had was good and the tators tots to share were good. Malts are always good but they weren't as thick as other places. Also had some Chilli which was good as well. It was a little spicy but I love the cheese and chive sour cream. That's a very nice touch to jazz it up. Same vibe as the other two 50's diners I've visited but this one is closer to home. Just a homey feel food sandwich and malt joint. I'd say definitely give it a try if you like 50's diners. A lot of these places have been around for a long time. read more
