If I could give one star I would. Typically, I don't like to write reviews as such unless it's needed. Ambiance: Fair. Nothing spectacular. The floor was sticky and it was quiet. There were two families inside and one outside. Service: one person did welcome us but I think we came in the midst of a shift change. It seemed that everyone was confused. Food: We ended up leaving. The prices are ridiculous! One family...the father ended up getting ice cream for his family members (at least 6 other people) and he did t get any because of the prices. The manager should've given him a free cone (he spent over $60.00!!). We ended up leaving and going just up the road. I guess they have to charge this much because of the location and rent. I understand business, but it's just too much. Our total for two would've been over $13.00 a piece for a sundae that was in a small cup. Again, business is business but it's just too much. My advice is to offer on-sight deals, maybe an ice cream truck with specials, etc. make it worth the experience. read more

We went because my husband said, "I want outlet discounted ice cream." HAHA. Yes, we know it's not priced as a sale. We are just some jokesters. I was expecting a long wait as it was Saturday and it was 92 degrees out. Pricing was reasonable. $25 for four smalls, one in a cone and three in a dish. The one in the cone was sorbet, and one out of three in a dish was lemonade sorbet. We also tipped. Everything was great.'my son's triple Carmel something or other was delicious. His had ribbons of caramel running through it. Customer service was great. They were speedy in there. Everyone had a mask on which is appreciated when working food during this Covid times. This Ben & Jerry's is located in the Williamsburg Premium Outlets and offers a nice reprieve from the Virginia heat while shopping. But they do need to make some changes -- namely: handle the customer line in a more efficient manner. It was at least a 10-15 minute wait to get served, which was a little excessive for a small place, average line length, and basic items. It's not that hard to scoop ice cream. And, from the other reviews here, it looks like it wasn't a one-time occurrence. I ordered a cup of the sweet cream and cookies, and it was delicious and held to typical standards for the brand. It's nice they offer some seating options and water. They did do a good job cleaning tables after each party left, so that part of the work flow was working. I'd return but it wouldn't be the top of my list. Next time I think I'd prefer to check out Williamsburg's local creamery options. read more

Visited the store at the Williamsburg Outlet Mall off Richmond Rd 12-11-2021, for me I thought the ice cream was a little pricey for the small amount of hand scooped ice cream I was given, the scoops are very small compared to the ones I have seen in other ice cream places over the summer. When I asked to sample a flavor, she acted like she couldn't be bothered to stick her arm over the counter so I had to reach so far to grab it, my arm pit was touching the glass over the counter! Came in *just* before closing time with a 10 year old gift certificate we just hadn't been able to use because we don't live anywhere near a Ben & Jerry's. But despite the time on the clock, the gal helpfully described the ingredients in several flavors and we made our choices. And they honored our ancient gift certificate. To make ourselves more obnoxious customers, we even asked the gal to double check that she applied the full gift certificate amount to our tab and she revealed that she had in fact comped us a little more than the $5 certificate to cover the cost of a small cup of Cherry Garcia (which was delish). So this is all to say that the customer service here was fantastic. The ice cream itself was just what I expect from Ben & Jerry's. No surprises. You can buy it here or in the frozen foods section of your store, and you know it tastes good. There are also sorbets and smoothies here, though we didn't try them. Overall, I feel good about B & J's as a company and the customer service here makes me feel good about visiting their actual stores, too. Bravo! read more

That being said, that doesn't stop me from going back for more! They seemed short staffed and it was busy but I believe it was due to the fact that it was Mother's Day and the outlets were packed. The ice cream was excellent, service was not. We had 2 $10 gift cards. After we all had our ice cream ordered and some of us were already eating my husband went to pay. He was told their gift card reader wasn't working so we couldn't use our gift cards. What??? The manager decided she would give us $5 off our bill, but wouldn't call to verify the gift cards were active and had $20 on them. Poor customer service. I'm also not clear on how sanitary it is for the workers to be carrying a baby around while making waffle cones and walking around the food counters - or safe for the baby to be carried by a hot waffle iron. This was my first time having Ben and Jerry's ice cream, and it will also be my last. I don't understand why it was so expensive--a little over $5 for one scoop--when the ice cream wasn't even high quality. Maybe I've been spoiled by ice cream in France, which actually tastes like the flavor you order, but the ice cream here was just...cold ice cream. The strawberry I ordered had absolutely no strawberry flavor--I've bought store-brand ice cream from France that was far tastier--though at least the vanilla that my dad ordered had the faintest hint of vanilla. This location is filthy and understaffed. On a weekend with 100+ degree temps, you would think the place could be busy and plan for that. After waiting 15 minutes in line to order, the lady helping us could not of been any less friendly if she tried. Worst customer service ever. The employee was rude, hurried us through trying to order, and was the most unfriendly person I've ever had wait on me. My husband asked for a smoothie, before the server started making it she asked if anyone else wanted a smoothie. When my daughter asked for one, the server was obviously upset and she knocked around the blender as she had to clean it and start another one. It was apparent she hates her job. For this place to be at the outlets I'm surprised it's so rundown. The restroom wast disgusting! The booths were dirty and the floor looked as though it needed a serious cleaning. I promised my son some ice cream after shopping. He got chocolate in a sugar cone and I got coconut in a waffle cone. We sat directly across from the young man making waffle cones. I watched him continuously touch the waffle cones with bare hands and the lady scooping ice cream war no gloves either. My sons ice cream tasted a little freezer burnt. This place needs to be looked at by the health department. There is NO WAY I'd ever go back in there. read more

Terrible customer service. The main person who works there, an older woman who always wears her hair in a braid and must be the owner, looks very unhappy to be there. The first time I went in this summer with my family, she corrected my children, who couldn't decide on a flavor immediately, and I was so embarrassed/uncomfortable after that, we skipped the ice cream and walked out. The next day I still had a craving for ice cream so I decided to leave the kids at home and go back with my dad and brother. At 9:01pm she said, "guys, I've got to kick you out." How unprofessional. She could have just locked the door so no new customers could come in, and let us eat our overpriced ice cream inside. Or at the very least, said it differently. The store didn't feel completely clean. My soft-serve cone, while not what Ben & Jerry's is known for, was icky. It seemed like the mix hadn't been in the mixer long enough and the ice cream didn't hold its shape in the cone. The staff confused our daughter's order, giving her a kid cup size when she's 17 because she asked for a single scoop instead of a small. Even if she wasn't clear, they should have asked. As other reviewers have stated, there was only one person manning both serving ice cream and the register. This should have been fine, but the service he provided was poor--slow and unenthusiastic. I admit, I'm one of those people who needs to try all the flavors before I make a decision, but it took the guy so long to just get one sample I gave up. Man am I sorry I did! I chose what I thought was a safe bet, cookies & cream, and it was terrible! The cookies in the ice cream seemed stale and everything tasted like freezer, not delicious cookies & cream. Worst Ice cream experience ever. I didn't think that was possible, I mean it's ice cream right. It was the hottest weekend in the world and the ice cream place had the worst air conditioning. We thought two shakes (which ended up costing over 13 dollars after tax) would cool us off. I don't get it. How do shakes come out warm? We were sorely disappointed and had to go to Dairy Queen the next day to get our ice cream fix.
