Even though the grass is artificial, it's a nice space for kids to play. Additionally, there are a few tables with umbrellas. Inside they also have some tables and bar seating options. The menu of available ice cream choices was large, they also have some specialty options, as well as ice cream cakes. This time I decided to go for Dulce De-Lish. This is their version of Dulce De Leche. It's filled with caramel, toffee, and some crunchy pecans. This one was very caramel, but a bit too sweet for me. Attended the 1st Ben & Jerry's ice cream cakes decorating class which was held at the Evergreen location in South Windsor. This class that Linda the Manager instructed was so much fun creating your own ice cream creation. If you haven't ever decorated a cake this is the perfect class. What was the best was it was ice cream. You get to choose 2 flavors out of the 4 they give you to select and they prepare it in advance so the cake is firm for you to decorate it. There are a few steps that you complete to have your master piece to have and take home. The items you decorate w are supplied. It's a lot of fun and they are having another class is on Saturday, February 8th for Valentines. The other locations are also having classes. You can go on Eventbrite. We were dying to try a limited edition flavor so we went to a scoop shop. I was shocked that it was $20 for a one scoop cup and a one scoop cup with 3 toppings. The topping serving was maybe a teaspoon size, so I was shocked when the order was rung up and I saw the total. I would love to support the shop as it's in a convenient location, but the price is so high I can't imagine returning. I always tip and try to be generous, and I only had cash this visit so the high menu price meant I could only tip a couple of dollars. The server was very friendly and engaging, and they have a fun "tip jar" that's a cow that moo's when you give a tip. I appreciate that the shop hosts fundraising nights on occasion for local charities where a percent of sales goes to the charity. I was happy to bring the hubby to get Ben and Jerry's, considering he'd only ever had it in the freezer section. One of the best commercially produced ice creams there is! I like that they have different flavors in the scoop shop. Don't offer online ordering if you don't make the orders! I was bringing my daughter home from a root canal and she wanted a milkshake. I ordered ahead so I could just run in, grab it, and get my kid home. The site said my order would be ready around 6:40. I got there a little early, so I stayed in the car for a few minutes. When I went inside, I didn't see a sign for online pickup, so I waited to catch the worker's eye and asked where to pick up my order. She told me I have to wait my turn in line because they have to treat everyone equally. I thought maybe she misunderstood me, so I said that I had already ordered and it should be ready. She said no, they don't make online orders until you're there, and I have to wait my turn. Why the heck even offer online ordering?! And she was so snide! I always scream for icecream!!!! I can't get enough Ben and jerry's at home that I also visit the store for more. The location is great... there was a pinkberry here before and I hated that. There was cold stone creamery next to it and that closed down... It was about time we had a decent icecream place at this location.... I can predict the future that Ben and Jerry will do well here, comparatively to froyo from before. For one thing, people are still coming here during winter. If anything, peets coffee is served in here too! Service: two employees working there on a Wednesday night at 8 pm. Be sure to ask for samples for flavors you would like! Be adventurous! You know what's a good deal? Get a pint ice cream for $6 instead of cups of ice cream which is $4 ish. Go big or go home! You can even pack two flavors into one pint jar. 20 flavors to choose from, some cakes available, peets coffee too. In case anyone's wondering, we got phish food and strawberry cheesecake in one pint. Only ate some inside and the rest to take home! We were given a flyer/coupon with our purchase. I ordered an ice cream cake from here. It was supposed to be half baked, and chocolate fudge brownie with cookie crumble filling. It was so heavy and thick and also somehow mushy. We could not find the half baked ice cream in this mess. It was a weird and expensive cake that I would not get again. During this heatwave, yesterday we decided to take a trip to the Evergreen Walk Ben & Jerry's store. We ordered small cones and what we received felt like a joke. We were given the TINIEST cones I've ever paid for in my life, never mind paying over $5 per cone! The ice cream barely came over the top of the cone itself. We recently visited the Saratoga, NY location and ordered the same small cones and we both commented on how much of a bang we got for our buck! Needless to say, the Evergreen Walk location left us extremely disappointed and we have no plans on ever returning to this location. It's great that they offer non-dairy flavors, as all Ben & Jerry's locations do, but it's not worth spending over $11 for cones that are child size. I've been given free samples bigger than these $5.25 cones! Shocked about how small the cones were, and quite frankly, disappointed in B&J's. We are both small females, too. Love to give a better review but can't. Wife and I went tonight to get some ice cream. Place is clean staff is very friendly and nice. My wife had a milkshake it was really good. I got two scoops in a in a waffle cone bowl. That's where the review goes south. The waffle cone was not fresh at all. It must have been 2-3 days old. Very stale and a total turn off. I'll give them another shot since the ice cream is so good but if the waffle cone come stale again I'll have to down grade the review. Hope this location makes it, it's a nice addition to evergreen. Just need to make sure everything is fresh and not a few days old. read more
