Would probably get it in a cup rather than a cone because the consistency is on the runny side. - Chunky Monkey - Wanted to try one of their most iconic ice cream flavors and was not disappointed. Really appreciated the chocolate chunks which melted in my mouth super easily. I was a bit worried because sometimes the chocolate takes a lot of time to eat but this one went down very easily. Wished there was a bit more walnuts in each bite. - Cold Brew Coffee Fudge Chip - I was pretty excited to try this one out and I really appreciate how much coffee flavor the ice cream had. I thought it was a bit too sweet though because the sugar was a little bit overwhelming and made my throat a bit dry. Overall, pretty dang good ice cream place. Nice to see this Ben & Jerry's open again! It seemed to be doing decent business when I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. Despite only having one person working at the time, the line moved at a reasonable pace and the service was excellent and friendly. The young man working behind the counter was patient and great with my toddler. Toddler chose the strawberry marshmallow (non-dairy) ice cream based on its pink color, and I was surprised at how fluffy and delicious it was. She also wanted one of the waffle cones with sprinkles - very colorful and fun. The space inside was well lit and clean. We'll definitely be back again as a fun treat. read more

All right, hear me out the only reason I'm giving this place three stars is because of the price of the ice cream. It is outrageous! In the grocery store, you can get a pint for about 4 to 6 dollars depending on if there's a sale or where you go. But here a pint was eight to $10. One scoop alone was already six dollars. Plus a cone if you wanted to get one of the fancy cones it was an extra two dollars. This is definitely a treat and not something that you would want to go into often unless you had the money to do it. I would love to be able to go more often with the kids and for them to enjoy it and to support the business but it's just really expensive. I used to work in a ice cream shop and I know the protocol. My mom and I decided to split one of their "brrr-itos." She immediately started working on the waffle burrito and when it was finished she pulled the waffle off the iron WITH HER ACRYLIC NAIL. That's disgusting and I had to take a moment to accept that. We stopped here with our kids and our friends who also had children. This was the first time we have visited a Ben and Jerry's. The female employee gave our one of a friends an "odd" look when we walked in. He said it was like the look of "I just cleaned this place..." Anyways, we ordered our ice cream and the employee said the milkshake machine "was broken." What is this, McDonald's? I honestly doubt it was broken. We were there at 8pm-ish and after the look she gave our friend she probably just didn't want to clean it to be honest. The ice cream wasn't even that good. The only reason I'm giving two stars and not one was because it stopped my kids from screaming for ice cream. I was wanting to drive the extra 45 minutes to get to a Baskin-Robbins and it truly feel that we should have. Their shake machines work and they have softer ice cream. Mine tasted like it was frost bitten or something. By the way, the bill was like $50 dollars. Baskin-Robbins would have been around $35, just go there. read more

Yes, Ben & Jerry's is a chain. Yes, you can just buy the darn ice cream in a store. I don't care -- the Loop location is just plain fun to visit. As others have said, the workers here are really friendly -- even more friendly than other B&J locations. They honestly seem happy to have you in the store and are excited for you to taste their wares. Can't make up your mind? No problem! They'll give you as many samples as it takes for you to decide (provided you're legitimately going to buy things, of course. Don't abuse the generosity). Moreover, they don't do that weird singing/rhyming thing that other ice cream chains (down the street, ahem) do to "keep people happy." I'm happy enough with B&J's honesty and smiles, thanks. Ben & Jerry's has about 16-20 flavors available. There's plenty to offer everyone with tastes leaning toward chocolate, nuts, caramel or fruit. And while Ben & Jerry's is a chain, the workers (many are area university students) take pride in the store and really make it feel like a local hangout. Ben & Jerry's annual Free Cone Day happened last week. Any free food day has the potential to go from a great idea to a catastrophe in an hour (see Denny's, KFC, etc.). However, this B&J planned properly for the crowds and had plenty of ice cream left even when I arrived at 7 p.m. (some flavors were already out, it's true). I arrived today shortly after opening and the server was helping some customers with most of the lights still off and boxes of ice cream piled on the counters. In my experience businesses are ready to go at opening time, not still scrambling to set up. Plus, it looked sort of dirty. -Where they make up for the presentation is their customer service...you're always greeted with a smile and I was given very generous scoops on my visit today. They help the college students' communities around them and they're friendly in-store. I went with a group of like 20 (don't ask) once and he was really patient as he got all of our ice cream served and paid for! - It's on the Loop. Get your scoop of ice cream and either sit outside/sit staring outside and people-watch with your friends or socialize a bit. hehehehe, fun stuff! I used to go to this Ben and Jerry's more often in previous years but it isn't a great experience when you can get most of the flavors at the grocery store. A single scoop costs $4 which is about what a pint costs at Schnucks. I looked up their website which said they opened at 12pm. I showed up at 12:45 and the door said they don't open until 1pm. I had already walked with my baby carrier to the store but went back and sat in my car until they opened. A young employee opened the store and didn't seem happy I was there right when it opened. He was still pulling paper off the top of the flavors and getting ready. He asked how I was doing and when I responded he said he was tired and didn't want to be working. He was helpful with me trying some flavors and choosing one but didn't go out of his way to be friendly. I told him I hope he had a good day and he seemed surprised at my kindness and changed his attitude a bit to wish me the same.
