First, book your tickets online ahead of time. We saw Devil Wears Prada 2 on a Saturday, over a month after it came out, and the theater was still completely full. I'd recommend grabbing tickets at least a day or two in advance for a weekend showing. Yes, everything is expensive. The tickets, the food, the drinks. But you're in a luxury theater in Newport Beach where someone brings a burger and fries to your seat while you watch a movie, so you kind of know what you're signing up for. And honestly? The burger was delicious and the fries were great. The Aperol spritz was a little flat on flavor though, could have been more sugary/fruity. The bathrooms were clean and well kept, which I always appreciate. My one real complaint is the volume. I get that a big theater needs to fill the room with sound, but it was genuinely too loud. That part I could have done with the volume down a notch or three. Overall we had a nice time and enjoyed our experience at THE LOT.

Used to be my favorite theater in OC, even over Cinepolis - luxurious but casual vibes, great food,…read morecomfortable seating. Nice staff. However recently when I started going, I couldn't stand the smell of the theaters. In the foyer it smells like a hotel, but once you open the door to your theater, a warm muggy burst of dirty socks hits you in the face like a ton of bricks. Really bad - they need to clean the carpets, get better ventilation, SOMETHING. Because it even pushed me to the point of having to eat before going so I don't feel queasy. Also very disappointed they don't give free water anymore - have to buy a Fiji water. Feels like they're nickel and diming people to sit in stinky theaters.
