My friend was willing to do boba delivery from Ben Gong's Tea without the delivery fee for our hot pot night, so I had to say yes. I haven't had Ben Gong in four years, but I remember liking their tea cubes topping and oolong milk tea. OSAMANTHUS OOLONG MILK TEA - 5.70 +1 for tea cube +no ice, 30% sugar A bit too sweet, but I'm not sure if I would enjoy 0% sugar though. The tea cubes didn't have the strong tea flavor that I remembered, but I love the light chewy texture and prefer it over tapioca. The milk tea was decent, but not a very strong tea flavor which is more of my preference. I walk in to see the manager (gotta be the manager or owner because she did not pay attention to any customers) having a full blown conversation with a friend. I go to the kiosk since she seems "busy" and order from the kiosk. I got a drink with sago and a mango pomelo. My drinks took at most 15-20 minutes to be completed. That is a long time for two drinks. I look over and see a poor worker working by herself to fulfill my order, as well as, online orders. The manager is STILL talking to the same customer for a good 30 minutes... not helping her employee and allowing customers to get annoyed and irritable at the wait time. I finally get my drinks and my sago is hard from being frozen. My mango pomelo is thick... like no liquid to even slurp in my straw. A friend has been raving about Ben Gong but she goes to one in DC. I happened to see this location while running errands nearby so thought I'd try it. I'm a huge fan of boba so always excited to try a new place and see if I can add it to my rotation. The space is on the smaller side but there are some tables and seats (two rows of tables fairly close together) so you can sit but probably not great for large groups unless you're ordering to go. I scrolled through the menu at the kiosk. The menu is pretty diverse though so I can see why my friend loves this chain. Many of the drinks have pictures that help you see what you're getting yourself into. There were still quite a few blanks so they may still be working on this though I'm not sure if it's specific to the store or chain. I was also not sure how further modifications would work like if I wanted to add more boba toppings. There's a comment section in the ordering process but I'm assuming there's surcharge for extras so I just left that for next time to figure out. I got the mango pommel smoothie which is in the cheese drink section. Cheese sounds strange in drinks but I thought I would try it and it was pretty good! It makes the drink creamy. The combination was sweet and tart. There were a few other drinks that I want to try so I will definitely be back to a Ben Gong. First time visit at Ben Gong's Tea. I ordered the Fresh Fruit Green Tea and the Matcha Boba Milk Tea. Overall, both drinks were good. The only small dissatisfaction I would say I had with my fruit green tea drink was that it didn't have as much fruit as pictured on the menu. A little more fruit would have been nice. The tea was mixed with fresh squeezed lemonade which was yummy. With the help staff, I ordered it with 70% less sugar and regular ice, which was perfect. I don't like my drinks to be overwhelmingly sweet and it wasn't. The drink contained ripe watermelon , pineapple , and cantaloupe inside. Like I said, a little more fruit would have been better, but overall good drink. The Matcha Boba Milk Tea was also tasty. That one was ordered with 50% sweetness and regular ice. I would recommend a little more ice if you plan on getting this drink cold. The drink had a quality tasting Matcha flavor, and the boba was perfect, not to soft and not to hard. The staff was very friendly and helpful in helping us pick our drinks and listened to our preferences of sweetness, recommending the right amount for both drinks. The burnt brown sugar give it an extra caramelize the flavor without adding too much sweetness and the Boba was cooked to perfection--nice and chewy without having too much bite or being too soft. I've tried Ben Gong's at least three times now so I thought I'd stray from my typical matcha boba drinks and try a classic tea. I ordered a green tea at its regular sugar level. It was so good and refreshing! Sometimes I really enjoy having the teas on their own so you're able to taste the quality of the leaves. Ben Gong has quite a few different teas they use so I'd definitely want to come back another time to try their osmanthus tea. I think the only downside is the cost of the drinks. The size is pretty small and can cost almost $8 sometimes. It's definitely a more of treat-yourself kind of place. The perfect sweetness, the burnt crumbles managed to make it into every sip somehow adding that almost smoky bitterness to counterpoint the sweet brown sugar. The boba were settled at the bottom and quite warm, making the whole drink lukewarm once mixed. Pretty much perfect from my persepctive. My daughter isn't a milk tea person. She ordered a passionfruit tea of some sort and ... while she enjoyed it, found the seeds got in the way of the boba. Didn't beat her usual haunts. Doubt she'll ask me to take her back there. We noticed when we were ordering that the defaults were heavy ice and sweetness (120%) so we throttled that back a bit to 100% and grateful we did so. The ordering process was pretty easy. The place itself pretty small - so don't expect a seat if it is anywhere near tea time. But as a grab-and-go place, from my perspective, definitely worth a stop in. read more

Yummy drinks! I just didn't enjoy the drink that I got (mochi milk tea). A bit pricy and underwhelming. The mushy textures of the mochi and fresh taro combined was not my cup of tea. So happy that this location opened up! It's so much more convenient & the staff here are very friendly. I have to say Ben Gong's is one of my favorite places for milk teas. My go-to order is the lychee oolong milk tea (weirdly enough though, this only comes in the regular size in this which I find odd) but the flavor has a perfect balance of tea & fruitiness. I also enjoy their selection of fruit teas when I want something light/refreshing as well as the tiramisu milk tea if I'm feeling something more dessert-ish. They also offer soft serve ice cream and switch up the flavors every so often. Lots of parking in the area and small sit down area inside.
