I'm always shocked why it takes so long for me to fry places . Honestly, I usually am in the area much later than NL closes. So Naked Lunch is inside the Mom's grocery story at their registers. It's like Chipotle with fresh juice for vegetarians. I loved their fast service, taste of the food, and freshness of the ingredients. I got the smoker bowl and it did not disappoint. Keep in mind the portions are hefty. I think I left with a 3 lb eco friendly container of food. I will definitely be back.

I just found my new favorite lunch spot! Located inside Mom's Organic Market, Naked Lunch is a small lunch/bar station that whips up healthy, fresh, and ALL ORGANIC steam bowls, vegan burgers, and juices. The steam bowls are $7.75 for one base and 5 toppings. If you order their bowl specials, there are more than 5 toppings in the bowl. This was my first trip here and I had the Lin Bowl. The service was a little slow, granted everything is made fresh to order, so I was more than happy to wait. Although the Lin Bowl comes with brown rice, they had no problem switching the brown rice for kale per my request. Lin Bowl ingredients: tofu, pea shoots, dried seaweed, zucchini, mushroom, sunflower oil, kimchi, and a lemon/lime wedge. Everything was SOOOOO fresh since it's organic. I even ate the entire lemon wedge (the skin was peeled off). I will come back to try their Yam Jam and pretty much everything else on their menu. Will definitely be updating.

Love! Healthy, fresh, vegetarian/ vegan and organic. This is my goto place for lunch or dinner or for just a veggie juice. Choose your own veggie juice, with a base of carrot, orange or apple. Or you can skip those and make it all green - $6 for a 16 oz/ Large size. Create your own salads or rice or steam bowls - $7.75. They have a variety of greens, vegetables raw and cooked, tofu and tempeh and some beans and grains. They also have bowl specials. I like the Lin bowl, and they used to have the Peruvian bowl on their menu board (avocado, black beans, brown rice). They also have sandwiches. My old favorite is the Fakin' Bacon (tempeh with sauteed apples, brie cheese and vegenaise). They do update their items once in awhile - I saw a "crabcake sandwich" on their board. I think the price is on the high side (though their juices are fair and worth it and there's not a lot of fresh organic juicers in town), but ultimately I'm just happy there is one place (another Naked lunch in Rockville) like this that exists.

I just sort of stumbled on this place after a long day of shopping in the mosaic district. It is located right inside mom's grocery store, to the left when you first enter. I ordered a black bean burger, which comes with a side salad and dressing, and a pink lady kombucha drink. The employees were all very nice despite the lunch rush. When my burger arrived, i couldn't believe how tasty it was! I was a vegetarian once before and I don't ever recall having a black bean burger that was perfectly put together, without falling apart. Brit tip: Enjoy your food right there in the store! Why wait to try deliciousness?! There is seating, although not many, provided right by the ordering counter.

The crabless crabcake !!!!! Best everrrrrrrr

HALLELUJAH the CRABLESS CEAB SANDWICH IS BAAAAAAACK! I was so sad when it went away - it is insanely good! Please try it. I have it with the kale and salad salad with lime jalapeño dressings and stick it in the sandwich sometimes even. It's one of my favorite meals!!! Don't break my heart and take that sh off the menu again Naked Lunch!

(Really, when I checked in on Swarm, it had been 13 years since my last visit. Now we're going every month or so.) While I noticed some updating--there's more wood paneling, and the menu is sleeker, for lack of a better word--the restaurant still has a warm, friendly vibe with sunflower imagery throughout. The menu is a twist on Asian food, with plenty of analogues, chunks of soy and/or wheat protein, and some vegetables. It's not all vegan--a few dishes have dairy and/or honey, and I suspect one of the noodle dishes uses egg noodles--but those items are clearly marked. We were last there on Thanksgiving and tried a few new things. The veggie kabob reminded me a bit of the kabob at the late, lamented Harmony Cafe in Georgetown. Sure, I'll get that again. I'm not so sure about the mushroom dish. I do love mushrooms, but perhaps this isn't the way to go about it. On prior visits, we've gone with old familiars. The fried "chicken" appetizer (chunks of soy protein and mushrooms fried and served with a spicy ketchup) are a classic. I am still trying to find my go-to entree. Maybe the Crispy Happiness (chunks of soy protein and shredded vegetables cooked mild)? It's a bit far from DC, but it is worth the trip.

As we were walking back towards our hotel, we actually were passing here so I chose it for our din din spot. I thought for sure it was going to be packed but luckily it was not. I knew I wanted a burger but was struggling with choosing which one. Hubs knew he wanted the Cheesesteak and knew I wanted fries. I went with the Smokehouse burger. We grabbed a seat and did not wait long for our food to come out. I really enjoyed my burger and scarfed it down! I paid for sauces, which were tiny and super overpriced. Hubs enjoyed his cheesesteak but he prefers meat. I had a bite and thought it was really flavorful and very closely tasting like the real thing. I noticed later this is a chain, which is pretty cool. I think the prices were pretty steep so I might skip on the fries next time. The food could have been warmer as well. Definitely worth a visit and will most likely be back when in DC again.

The only dish that wasn't that impressive was the namesake oyster. But every other dish stood out, service was excellent, and the entire staff is very familiar with the multi-course menu. The ultimate highlight for me was the mushroom, among the best I've had, with a rich and spicy seasoning that elevated the dish. If I lived in DC, this would be a perfect date night spot.

Phenomenal philosophy that fell short of execution for our party of 4. The wine and juice pairings were a bit hit or miss. NA sparkling Riesling for the juice pairing was an absolute delight. Many of the wines just fell pretty flat for us, not much body, not really adding to the dishes served. Juices were overall very interesting! Again, super cool that they offer full NA pairings. The standouts were the oyster and their divine bread service with marigold vegan 'butter'. None of the courses were bad, but many of them were very interesting sounding but didn't really shock and awe us in terms of flavor - just a decent bite or two. None of us were really taken aback by any particular dish. Pay for food in advance, tight reservation windows meant we got the boot and didn't really get to chat over our final dessert/digestifs (we were offered to hang out in an adjacent to the restaurant private dining room, but we had to wait there for our table originally... so we just headed home), and the overall price point... combined with everything else just made the experience very mid overall. We were really looking forward to Oyster Oyster, but it was a miss for us.
