[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute place, great drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Good quality ingredients - a little pricier than other boba spots, but worth it. Will definitely be back! 9 out of 10 for me. Enjoy!

Large jasmine green tea with brown sugar boba
    Hwal L.

I wish I could rate this place higher. Ultimately though, the green tea had the typical bitterness that I can only attribute to steeping for too long, and the brown sugar boba was considerably sweeter than what we've come to expect. On the latter, we could tell immediately that it was brown sugar boba and paradoxically, the extraordinary sweetness helped offset the bitterness of the tea. Having said that, fresh tea should not be this bitter, and as a result, it didn't make for a great tea drinking experience. Service was unremarkable once we got across what we needed to communicate to place our orders. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This shop has the typical gray modern minimalistic decor which I could take or leave.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Perhaps they were having a particular off day during our first visit. I hope they continue to improve.

I got the mango cheese foam slush. I thought the slush was good, very natural tasting. The cheese foam was pretty good as well, it was salty and creamy, and I like how they put a lot of it in the drink. I thought the boba was just okay though, it was a little hard for my liking. I thought the service was fine, nothing special but nothing bad. The drinks didn't take too long to come out (maybe 5-7 minutes), but there was only one person in front of us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The shop is small, but there is some seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would come back again.

Been here a couple times to try various drinks off their menu. I will say my favorite is their mango sago, which is amazing & and not too sweet! Try their peach cheese foam, which I thought was very interesting. I'm not sure if this was my favorite to be honest, but it was definitely worth a try. Overall, a decent place if you're in the Annadale area and looking for Boba. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This definitely is a grab and go type of shop and does not have much seating inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Such a huge variety of boba options! I especially like their fruity flavors, along with the new mango popping boba. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was an alright pace, and it seemed to be busy during lunchtime--still managed to find a seat though.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Mango Pomelo Sago

Solid drink but compared to hey tea and imilky (in NYC) and possibly moge - it comes in third or fourth. I got the mango pomelo slush, with tea cubes. It had remanants of ice cubes that probably should not have been in there at all. The tea cubes were unnoticeable. The drink itself was pretty good. It is definitely higher than average and would go again! I like their selection of drinks.

Passion fruit super cup & strawberry lemon tea

[[HIGHLIGHT]]There's not really seatings. It's grab and go kinda place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It took 5 mins to get it. I got the passion fruit super cup but it wasn't sweet at all and water downed. The strawberry lemon tea was way better in sweetness and little sparkle to it. I had higher expectation here since everyone loves this place. I would only come back to try the milk tea

A surprise treat at work was delivered and I got to try Ben Gong's Tea for the first time! There was a good selection to choose from but I'm a sucker for anything cheese foam. I believe it was a take on crème brûlée. Pretty good boba, not overly sweet but it was more on the sweeter side. I was told service was really convenient as they make orders fairly quickly but again, I haven't actually gone to the shop. Would definitely be interested in trying again.

One of my favorite milk tea stores serving some great flavors like the Osmanthus Rice Milk Tea, Tiramisu Milk Tea, and their Golden Oolong Tea. In general, they have delicious flavor options. They are able to adjust sugar and ice levels. Would recommend 50% sugar levels in general. The staff are really kind and make the drinks really quickly. There are also plenty of tables where many people like to work

    Osmanthus rice milk tea
    Elizabeth S.

I've had a lot of different milk teas in my life but none as unique as this Osmanthus Rice Milk Tea. I got it at 30% sweetness, no ice, and it came out within 3 minutes. The drink was perfect - there is crystal boba which is slightly harder than regular brown sugar boba, and I loved the rice topping. I really recommend coming to Ben Gong's, although I heard the Centreville location is even better!

Can I order any vegan milk tea here - not the cow milk derived "dairy free" creamer but actually almond or oat or soy milk?

A big group of us stopped by for some late night desserts this past Saturday. Other than drinks, they also have a fair amount of desserts like macarons, cookies, bingsoo (sadly, they did not have it when we stopped by), and baked goods. BLACK MILK TEA (M) - 5.25 +0.75 for tapioca pearl I got it with 25% sugar and 25% ice. This is my standard order for every new boba shop I check out. The one here was just OK. The 25% sugar was perfect for me but the milk tea was on the watery side. I couldn't taste that much of the tea flavor and the milk was a bit weak, too. The tapioca here is pretty soft and chewy, which we all enjoyed. BANANA PUDDING - 5.99 One of my friends got this for the table. The banana pudding slaps hard. The pudding is super smooth and creamy and there's bits of nilla wafers and banana chunks throughout that adds to the texture. For those Magnolia Bakery fans missing a good banana pudding, you can get one here that is solid. BERRY LEMON BAR - 7.49 Another dessert for the table. This was so dense. One bite and I was done. It is quite sweet and citrusy, but more so too sweet for me. Our group loved it. To the sweet tooths and lemon bar lovers, this one is for you. I'd recommend it. Would love to stop by in the future to try their bingsoo and their banana pudding again!

I mourn the fact that COVID killed the samples, but it's still a great place to shop for a treat or just run in and grab a coffee which I do a few times a month. It's big and fluffy with chewy moist mocha flavored dough and a crispy sugary coating on the outside that's to die for. It's still light and fluffy at the same time. Yum! And while it's prob not made in-house, I do love the red bean buns. Bathrooms are always clean and the upstairs is great for a longer chat with a friend, time in a book, or board or card game time. First, the yogurt snow had awful fruits: kiwi was old, strawberries were not ripe, melon tasted like watermelon rinds, the canned mandarins tasted canned. The yogurt was okay, but the snow tasted just like ice. Absolutely no flavor whatsoever for $16.55 The chocolate chip brownie, didn't have much taste of chocolate and stale. $4.50 The upside down pineapple cake was the worst, so old it had the metallic taste of the aluminum container and crumbled into granules using a fork. Absolutely inedible! $4.25 Breeze bakery has been going downhill for a while now, but 3 out 3 items being inedible for $28 is unbelievable. There is also the short bulky Korean guy, possibly the manager who's seems to be on a power trip and speaks to customers rudely and unprofessionally. Will never come back and will inform my friends and family how this business is tanking.
