The owner immediately claimed it required a full motherboard replacement. He proved to be nothing more than a parts-swapper who is incapable of actual component-level diagnosis or motherboard repair. After getting the device back, it completely shut down every time a game launched because he installed a faulty replacement board. ​I took the console to an established, professional electronics repair shop (CPR Cell Phone Repair) for a proper diagnostic. They officially confirmed that the motherboard installed by this shop was entirely faulty. The console is now at a proper repair lab being fixed correctly by actual technicians. ​UPDATE (May 27-28): After posting my honest experience, the owner began relentlessly calling and harassing both myself and my partner from spoofed and private numbers to demand the review be taken down. This included an incident where he shouted at and verbally abused my partner over the phone, leaving her incredibly distressed. ​We have blocked multiple numbers, completely revoked consent for contact, and a formal file has been opened with the local RCMP detachment for criminal harassment and harassing telecommunications. ​He did return my original money, but caused significantly more damage and disruption in the process. The repair shop technician called me to say that the main board is damaged and that could be very expensive. when i said i want to go right then to see , he told me "is too busy and doesn't have time for me". I do not drive or have a car, i had to make arrangements with a neighbor to go at the shop the next day. When i got there and they turned on the TV the screen was a light grey with a 2" vertical line. THAT IS NOT HOW MY TV WAS WHEN I DROPPED IT THERE!!!! He just happened he mentioned a day before that he knows how expensive it ca be to fix it because he had THE EXACT SAME TV. At this point it is very hard to trust the motives why my tv is in worse condition than when i dropped it there. In my complete lack of knowledge, I called the local Long and McQuade to ask for help in knowing what to do. They were so willing and gracious and were excited to help me on my ongoing quest to fix up all these instruments. Not only that, but one of there repair guys, (his name is Les, ask for him, he knows what he's doing) actually did some of the smaller repairs on some electrics I had, simply out of his own passion for his job (Thanks again man). I have continued to shop there because their is a real sense of community and comradery among them and they are always willing to help me out.
