Today, I spoke with one of the lawyers, Walter, of BWA Law Group. I've never had as positive of an experience talking to a lawyer as I did with Walter! He was very warm, friendly, generous, patient, and *extremely* helpful! Since I'm very low-income/on a fixed income, I couldn't afford to have him represent me, given the relatively low value of my case; yet during his consultation with me, he spent over a 1/2 hour providing me with information I couldn't have acquired myself and clear, step-by-step instructions on how to handle the case myself & sue in small claims court. I really wish I could have Walter represent me; but I feel a lot less overwhelmed & lost, now that Walter gave me all the information I need & clear instructions. About a year ago we met the first time with Doug because we wanted to form an S-Corp coming out of a sole proprietorship. Doug has an enormous knowledge about that stuff, made it really easy for us to understand what had to happen and he really guided us step by step through the endless formalities you have to go through. I've posted plenty of review for restaurants, tourist destinations and bars, but have never felt inclined to post a review for business services...this is until now. I have NEVER felt as supported, reassured and empowered in making decisions as I have when working with Alex King, a member of the Bend Law Group. What can I say other than that Doug is amazing? I talked to a number of law firms when I was starting my business, and considered using Legal Zoom. I connected with Tucker at Bend, and decided to use their services. Tucker has been terrific. The package deal covered all of the basic needs to getting my business running, setting up an operating agreement, and dealing with appropriate registration and licensing at a reasonable price. But beyond the basics, Tucker was always available and patient and accommodating with numerous questions. I used Doug to help me start my new sustainability consulting business. Every aspect of my interaction with Doug has been professional, positive, and informative. For example, I was set on incorporating my business as an S Corp. Doug could have said "great!" and taken my money. However, he walked me through the various options and even told me that I could probably wait and see how business was before forming a legal entity. Not something you would probably hear from other small biz lawyers. With his help I decided to form an LLC, which is a much more appropriate organizational structure for my consulting practice.
