Le 9E is somewhat hard to find if you don't know it exists. It sits on the 9th floor of a building in the Downtown area, with little to no signage indicating where it is. Once we got off the elevator, though, we were greeted with aesthetics. The space is large and open, with high ceilings, large windows, and a bar in the center of the room that serves as a focal point. I was a fan of the art deco decor, and the soft music playing in the background tied it all together. The breakfast menu had a good variety of items without being overwhelming. It definitely leaned more towards classic dishes with nothing too out of the ordinary. They started us with some complimentary canary melon which was sweet and juicy mmm. For my actual breakfast, I went with the pancake and a side of sausage (because protein). The pancake was much grander than I expected; it was a single cake that was topped with butter, fruit compote, powdered sugar, and maple syrup. This really exceeded my expectations - the cake was huge and super thick with the perfect amount of components; it was definitely a more cakey pancake if that makes sense. The sausage was good as well, it was stuffed with cheese which complemented the sausage meat well. Service was great, our waiter was attentive but not all over us which I appreciated. Overall, I thought Le 9E was a good find; I'm not running back though, as I would like to try other breakfast spots in the city first, but regardless you'll get a solid meal here with great aesthetics.
