    Plushy benches

What a pretty place!! Airy interior with large windows and the plushiest benches. Perfect for brunch photos! That seems to be a main attraction to patrons, although the food should not be ignored. We went there for brunch on a Saturday, which is typically very difficult to maneuver without reservations. But thanks to the pouring rain, we got seated right away. The menu is well designed, and many attractive dishes were presented. We selected the burrata, crostini, XL potato, and an extra bread. The food came fairly fast in beautiful plates, and was pretty good! The tender tomatoes were well selected, and mixed perfectly with the creamy burrata on the generously toasted (but not tough!) bread. The addition of peaches was a very nice burst of flavour. The potatoes were full of umami and quite complex in their richness. The crostini was perhaps a bit less interesting, but still good. The hot peppers were pretty sharp! Overall, the dainty portions were a bit smaller than expected, although it is justified for that section of the menu. The service was courteous. Really pretty place!

Saw that it made the list for Montreal's Eater list for must try brunch places and saw the dinner menu was equally good so decided to go here for dinner. Super cozy atmosphere and lots of conversation and music around. The interior was nicely decorated and filled with comfy chairs. Ordered: 1. Tuna (raw) 2. Beef Tartare (raw) 3. XL Potatoes 4. Grilled Duck (pink in the middle) 5. Chocolate & Hazelnut Panna Cotta Tuna was so good. Really fatty tuna and the sauce and garnishes were a perfect pairing for the dish. Beef tartare was good. They used potato chips as a vehicle for the tartare which I thought was interesting. A little hard to scoop into the chip but fun textures. Potatoes were nice and crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. The mayonnaise was a nice touch. Duck was cooked to perfection--still slightly pink in the middle. Once again--the sauce for this dish was so good. They only have one dessert on their menu but that's really all they need because the chocolate and hazelnut panna cotta is delicious. It's not too sweet but ends the meal nicely. Service was really awesome as they constantly came to check on us and make sure everything was okay. Items came out pretty quickly as well.

Delicious iced latte, mouth watering croque madame, excellent service, clean and welcoming decor, and overall a wonderful dining experience. Recommended. This place apparently opened 2 months ago. Last time I walked by this place I was too full to try this place out, so I decided to bookmark it for future visits. Boy am I glad I did. I entered the place at around 12pm...First to arrive & had the entire place to myself for 1/2 hr. If you care about the environment, they use metal utensils and agave biodegradable straws. It's so much better than the metal one I bring around with me or disgusting paper ones a lot of places offer. And they're a grade above the pasta ones I've used before. It's probably more expensive on their part, but it also shows that they care. The pricing is really reasonable. Lilia, one of the owner was super nice, welcoming and informative. The ice latte she made for me was delicious. And they have a wide variety of milk choices including almond and oat if that's your thing. And my croque madame was scrumptious. Even the side pickles were good. I'm definitely planning on coming again the next time I'm in town. Hopefully I'll get to try their handmade gnocchis next time :9 SN: they have free wifi, just need the password

Loved this place, the food, the place, the waiter. This place is located in the old port and opened about 1 year ago even less. They have a big wine menu. They have a brunch/lunch and supper menu. We went there for supper we had the flecon special which was so good, the fish was well cooked and all the ingredients were so good together, the sauce and all, the perfect combination We also got the duck and it was so tender, it was amazing. The oysters were fresh We got the peach crumble as dessert but it wasn't good at all, it was a load of whipped cream on top, even tho it seemed homemade there was this weird taste to it and also the peaches were not really ripped. I would not get that when I return Overall this place is good for food and drinks, especially if you are a wine lover. I would just skip the dessert for next time. This place has this comfy vibe with couches and pillows. Definitely a cute place to go with small groups. I definitely recommend to try this place at least once

Super cool new wine bar in Old Montreal! Pastek has been open for a few months serving up brunch fare in a very nice looking space on St. Paul. Wifey and I were doing a little "shop local" Christmas spree wondering where to grab dinner early on a Friday night when we noticed some folks hanging out and drinking wine. Hmm, that's right up our alley so we stopped in to check it out. There's a lot more going on than you might expect! The shared entrance leads up a slight incline to a coat check, wine storage and elevator(?) space. Not knowing what the elevator was for we followed the host to a great table by the windows overlooking St. Paul. The bar is a sleek looking burled wood that looks fantastic. There is a wrap around coral coloured bench seat with about 10 small white tables that can be easily moved around to accommodate different sized groups. The walls are typical Old Montreal rock which of course looks great. As we were chilling with a bottle of white, we kept seeing groups of people coming and going using the mystery elevator I mentioned earlier. Almost everyone stepping outside stopped to take a selfie on St. Paul so it probably wasn't a local crowd, but what's going on? Turns out the elevator services a new self check-in hotel located above the wine bar. The bar has a takeout service for the hotel, really an interesting business idea. The wine list was relatively inexpensive and offered up many nice French selections. They have a small but interesting food menu so we decided to try a few plates: spinach artichoke dip (yum), crudo and seared scallops with roasted cauliflower. The food and service were excellent! I should also mention the cool music vibe. I'm not sure how to describe it but the music was kind of jazzy with a mix of house music beats. Think Michael Franks meets Daft Punk. Hard to describe but cool! We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely return.

    Salmon toast... Yummy

The French bistro you are graving for. They have real bread. The salmon melts in your mouth. It's bit cramped outside on the patio but it is the best way to experience local life.

Great spot for breakfast; good coffee and good food. Suppose to be a wine bar once they get their license. Look forward to experience.

The first time, the music was extremely loud, and it seemed like they were short-staffed. The bar was completely packed, and there was only one bartender making drinks, so the wait was a bit longer than expected. We decided to give it another try, and I'm so glad we did. The second visit was amazing! The bartender working that night was incredible--she clearly knows her craft and made our drinks quickly without sacrificing quality. Every cocktail was delicious, and the overall experience was much more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend The Coldroom. My only suggestion would be that, with a space that busy, the bar could really benefit from having an additional bartender during peak hours. It would help keep wait times down and make an already great experience even better.

Service was phenomenal and our waiter checked in frequently with us. The food was absolutely immaculate. My favorite starter was the salmon crudo. For the main, two people carried out a mouth dropping spread of tiger shrimp, scallops, grilled octopus, lobster, lamb chops and a tomahawk. More than enough food for the 6 and everything was cooked perfectly- octopus wasn't chewy and the meats were super flavorful and tender. They were very accommodating to dietary restrictions as well. They had a DJ and lively atmosphere after dinner so we stayed and got bottle service. Fun spot with great food is always a winner in my eyes. I will definitely be coming back next time I'm in Montreal!
