Wow! Tried their June Special "Summer Vegetable Benedict" and I'm floored by the flavors! So sooo good!!! The bar area is a little noisy but the lovely service and quick delivery of the delicious food made more than up for it. Would be back any day! Third review. The new food system messed up. An egg order and pancake order when the restaurant is empty took 20 min. The waitress came out and said it's not her fault. It's not but when you don't show up for to our table for 20 min and only stop by after we complained, and after the manager had to explain, and then blamed it on others, I had enough. It's your table lady. Take ownership. And then the food came out cold. I sent it back. And it took another 8 minutes for hot food to This place is slipping. Ambiance - it was crowded and busy on a Sunday morning. The way the restaurant is laid out, it was noisy and chaotic. It made conversation unnecessarily challenging. It was busy - and it took our server a while to say hello and get drinks to us. Again, hard for her to hear us or to focus on our order - but she was attentive while at the table. She explained that the kitchen was really busy, so our food was taking a while. The monkey bread was okay - not overly warm, and the sauces were pretty skimpy. Cal got the pick three pancake breakfast. The cakes were decent, but nothing exceptional. She chose Elvis, pineapple upside down, and strawberry and Nutella. Considering the cakes were the star of the show, they were underwhelming. The toppings were skimpy, and they weren't particularly interesting. Nothing you'd send back, but nothing you'd rave about either. I had the Huevos Rancheros, and it was decent. Perfectly poached eggs, a couple ounces of chorizo, some feta, some green salsa - it was a pretty plate, but again, nothing exceptional. Solid three stars - we didn't leave hungry or disappointed, but we're not going to hurry back - for the same price, there are better breakfasts, bigger portions, and less chaotic dining elsewhere. read more

I would give 3.5 stars if allowed. I've been to Benedict's twice before writing this review. The ambience is fantastic: modern and clean yet very warm. The staff is amazing: efficient, welcoming and know everything about the food they are serving. Some fellow Yelpers didn't like the coffee much. I am a semi coffee snob and I thought it was really good. Unfortunately, where Benedict's lost 1.5 stars was on the food seasoning. The food is presented beautifully and it is full of texture. However, the potatoes come without even a pinch of salt and pepper and that cannot be overseen. Their hollandaise sauce also has the perfect, smooth texture, but zero seasoning. Cooking without seasoning is almost unforgivable in my opinion. I will go back many times because I like the place and my friends also do, but I wish I didn't have to season my food after it arrives. read more

I can't possibly give more kudos on our breakfast experience this morning. Fast seating, clean restrooms, food came much more quickly than expected, and a carafe of mimosas for $24!! The food was exceptional - I was expecting the tot hash to be regular tater tots and it turned out to be jumbo hash brown tots. YASSSS. I snuck bites of the Mr.'s pancakes and they were so divine. Great food and great service. We went around 12:30 pm on a Saturday and it wasn't very busy. We sat at the bar and got great service from a very attentive server. Note that it's hidden inside the Hilton hotel there on the second floor. The staff at the front desk of the Hilton sent us up there before we could even ask, so clearly they've been asked lots. It is not marked on the outside to the street so we had difficulty finding it but it's clearly marked once you get on the skyway level/second floor of the Hilton! As far as food, the burrito was delicious and a way bigger portion than I could finish. The breakfast potatoes were ESPECIALLY excellent with a crispy outside and well cooked inside. My partner got the classic Benedict and it comes highly recommended. She says "it was actually really good. Probably one of the better ones I've had". Fruit was kinda skimpy on the side so it'd be appreciated if those portion sizes could be higher. Mimosas were average mimosas, but you could taste the prosecco so at least they didn't skimp on that. I would definitely go back to this location and try more things on the menu! We went savory this time but they have French toast and monkey bread and pancakes that I would try next time! read more

Food is always great at Benedict's and high quality! The staff is always cheerful, and no matter how busy it is the kitchen is efficient.

The service was spectacular but food was just OK. I had the breakfast burrito and it was good but without the salsa very bland. My husband had the biscuits and gravy and also very bland and not a thick gravy. I also had an espresso latte and again just ok. The atmosphere was cute so I hope they will tweet the seasoning and we may try again. read more

I waited a while before going here. Overall we had a good experience. Both my wife and myself ordered Benedict's. My wife ordered the Californian I had the Smoked Salmon . Both were fantastic. Good portions. Rustic cut potatoes. Also plenty of hollandaise . We had some small issues with a dirty fork and some specks in my water glass. This was my favorite breakfast spot while visiting Rochester. I stayed at a hotel in downtown Rochester while at Mayo, and Benedict's was close by and easy to get to. There were multiple reasons to love Benedict's! -food: We tried their crab Benedict, blueberry pancakes, and fruit plate. Their crab Benedict is delicious with large pieces of crab! Also, their hash browns are great. They're soft with a crispy topping and not greasy. The fruit plate is amazing- there is a variety of different fruits and everything is so fresh and sweet. -customer service: everyone is sooo incredibly nice, warm and welcoming. The service is amazing, and they make you feel right at home - location: it is very close to Mayo and you can get there through the skyway. Depending on which hotel you're at, you don't even have to go outside! - hours: they open at 6 am every morning, which I loved. It gave me plenty of time to eat breakfast before heading to Mayo (where visiting hours start at 8 am) -ambience: the restaurant is very cute, cozy and welcoming. Its amzing and the food we ordered was worth the cost! Never mind the cost... it is aesthetically pleasing! I mean the lobster benedicts i ordered was cooked to perfection - the hollandaise, poached eggs(runny yolk), tasty house made breakfast potatoes! We also ordered the carnitas benedicts and its great style of mimicing the mexican style is great(they added blackbeans to a benedict)... wow! And who doesnt like pancakes... we ordered the smores pancakes and beleive me you would be visiting here again for this amazing food! I keep my options open to visiting this place again in the near future and the next time I do.. hopefully i wont be tempted to order the same food(gotta try something new everytime)!! We just had the most wonderful breakfast. Everything was made from scratch - no microwaves in this kitchen. We had a variety of menu items - the stand outs were their chicken sausage, sour dough bread, chorizo, and unbelievably tasty monkey bread. Our waitress was excellent and always made sure we had plenty of coffee and water. This restuarant is one of med-city's best kept secret. Only disappointment is that they only serve breakfast and brunch (til 3pm). read more

We randomly stumbled upon this place while at Mayo this month. It's so good! Funny enough, we asked a random guy in the skyway his thoughts about the restaurant, and he worked there, so gave us a few of his favorite dishes. You guys- the hot fried chicken is phenomenal! It's a couple of pieces of perfectly fried chicken laying on top of buttered biscuits, with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce poured over all of it. The plate also comes with a side, and since I knew I wouldn't eat more than the entree, my hubs ordered the breakfast potatoes. He said they were good. The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because the menu is a bit pricey for breakfast food. I got the hot chicken and my husband got the make-your-own omelet and a side of toast, and we both had waters to drink, but our bill was a little over $34. Kind of ridiculously priced for individual sized portions, in my opinion. It's on the 2nd floor of the Hilton Hotel, and less than a 5 minute walk from Mayo. I'm looking forward to trying other dishes from here as well. read more

The second the world opens back up again, my BFFs and I are going to come here for another fabulous brunch. I live in the cities, about 1.5 hours away, and I would make the drive down just to have brunch and come back home. The location is great, and Rochester has the added benefit of free parking in the ramps on the weekends. Its small, so I think you pretty much need a reservation. We made our reservation about a week out, for a party of six. We ended up having to wait a little bit beyond our reservation, but it was still within an acceptable wait time. Once seated, we were greeted quickly by our server and ordered our drinks right away. Everyone ordered a drink and were happy with their choices. My choice was The Nordic Bloody Mary (dill vodka, clamato, cucumber, gravlax), and it was delicious! The beer chaser was a tiny can instead of just a glass. I am not a beer drinker, but I was able to give it away pretty easily. Everyone at the table had a different breakfast order too, and again, every was pleased with their choice. I choked a little bit when I saw the price ($21), but decided to splurge on The Nordeaster (butter poached lobster, old bay hollandaise). You never know what you are going to get when you order something with lobster, will it be just a few flakes, or will you get full on claws?! You guys, you get full on claws here! Worth the $21 price tag, for sure! You get a choice of sides, and per the recommendation of our server, I got the breakfast potatoes. They might have been the best tasting potatoes I have ever had... Overall, it is expensive, but I wasn't even mad that I spent $50 on such a lovely brunch. I ate every bite and almost licked the plate. A friend of mine that works at Mayo went the next week and had their Crab Grilled Cheese. She gave raving reviews. Thinking I might have to see if Benedict's of Wayzata is open for take-out during this weird crazy time. I am l looking forward to tasting their food again. Hopefully the service in Wayzata is equally as wonderful as Rochester. read more
