    Chicago The Musical Stage.

Always a joy to visit. Beautiful architecture, entertaining shows, and kind staff. We're already planning to return for the next Broadway season! One note for tall guests--seating is on the smaller side and legroom can be tight. My husband is 6'5" and struggles to sit comfortably when there's a row ahead of him.

I came here to see The Nutcracker. I only made it through the first half because I quickly realized that Ballet is not my thing. The stage was beautiful and the dancers were also. The drink prices weren't too bad. I bought a large cup of albanese gummy bears for 7$. The price is high but they gave you a large amount. The whole building is stunning, there are chandeliers everywhere. I recommend checking it out!

Went here to see the Nutcracker ballet. The building is gorgeous! There are plenty of refreshment options, including alcohol, and the prices are reasonable. I'll definitely go again, even if ballet isn't really my thing.

Beautiful Theater we went to see the Opera had great seats I think anywhere you seat in the Theater would be great. Lots of staff to help you to your seats. Bathrooms are clean, they have stands set up with drinks and snacks to buy. Nice place to see a concert or Opera.

I love a night at the Benedum. The outside and inside are beautiful. It's easy to enjoy a show at any seat, but this theater does have a cozy feel. Ticketing process is quick and easy with digital tickets you can add to your Apple wallet. There are always a ton of people there, but it never feels too chaotic entering or leaving. I like that they have beverages available to enjoy including beer and wine that you can sip during the show. They come with easy to use lids which sounds like a small thing, but makes me more likely to enjoy a beverage if I know I'm not going to spill red wine on my nice theater-going outfit. There are parking garages located all around or you can try to score street parking for free after 6 pm.

NO WORKING ELEVATOR ( Oct 31 2025) !!! Even when the elevator operates, it is slow and carries 6. Benadum could EASILY install a new elevator to go from lobby to second floor. This facility should not hold an occupancy permit without an elevator The theater itself is very nice

Here for the chandelier drop event and so many other performances now and we just LOVE the Benedum Center and seeing shows here. The Sound of Music, Guys and Dolls, Moulin Rouge, Straight No Chaser, A Magical Cirque Christmas, and many more. Every time we love being here and the care we get by the staff and volunteers here. One of the best if not the best theatre in town. Heads up don't take any of the side seats as many have restricted views. Yuck. Anyways that's about all of it. Best place to come for a show.

This place is simply breathtaking. The history when you walk through the doors and the way it makes you feel as you go down the stairs is really astounding. The grand chandelier in the theater is gorgeous. The craftsmanship that went into the architecture of this place must have taken so much thought and detail to complete. The show was pretty good. But the costumes were AMAZING AND SO ERA ACCURATE! I had never been to the opera before but I will be back. I can't wait to see another show.

Great place to see a concert! Not a bad seat in the house! The sound is amazing! The people who work there are very friendly and welcoming! If you want to have libations.. do so before you get there, prices are steep!

Saw Moulin Rouge twice in the last week. Highly recommend.

Do I love every show ... No. Do I love my seats ... YES Is it a pre-scheduled "date" 6 months in advance ... YES COVID took its toll on all of us. I missed the theater. As a season ticket holder, I was very sad to park on level 8 of Theater Square garage, BUT very happy to see the theater filled to the rafters not once but twice for Moulin Rouge. Having never seen the movie, I didn't know what to expect. Never thought Christina Aguilera's Lady Marmalade would be the opening song (expected at intermission or end). I love Rock of Ages, so of course I loved Moulin Rouge. NOTE: I am NOT a fan of online snack/beverage ordering. Service fee AND automatic tip. Got me once never again. The $4 16 oz water is also ridiculous. The specialty drink for Moulin Rouge was $15. You CAN ORDER your snacks/beverages before the show without using the app - just stand in line - will be waiting for you on the bar at intermission.

Went for the first time earlier this week. Loved it. Parking was easy to find as there is a parking garage within a 5 min walk. Staff was so friendly with helping me find will call and the section that the tickets were in.

Very clean, accommodating establishment to watch plays and musicals. Make sure you get a parking pass though it's well worth the money

Got some very last minute tickets day of for Beetlejuice. You really cannot tell on the map how good your seats will be - our seats were pretty great despite being in row O on the orchestra floor. The theatre was clean, the energy high, and the ushers so friendly. Thank you for a wonderful evening out!

I am 5 foot 1 inch, does anyone know if I will be able to see a musical sitting in row aa orchestra?

Hi Antonia, yes, but not well or comfortably (I'm also 5'1"). And you'll have great difficulty seeing anything further back on the stage, (if anything) like against a backdrop. What you'll see is about a couple feet from the edge. And be prepared…

Does anyone know how the seats are? I have a tall friend that finds it uncomfortable if the seats are too close to each other? I've been here and have never felt uncomfortable but I'm not overly tall. Thanks for any help

I am 5'8" and they are not the most roomy seats but it's doable. They are close together however

With a partnership with AHN, they direct you with ample signage and the lot is simple to enter right across from the theater! The area is beautiful and very safe! Tree lined sidewalks and clean areas around. The theater is a little outdated in entry. For a small capacity, you stood outside in line for an extended time due to a single ticket taker with a clipboard list. This delayed the performance by 15 minutes as he struggled to check people in. The lobby is centered around a bar for refreshments. The tickets are sold per section (A-D) without specific assigned seats. We set in the mezzanine and entered through the second floor. Some of the seats are "dangerous" with small catwalks and seats perched with no floor behind them. My friend actually lost her shoe mid performance as it fell through the opening. The productions are limited in set design and technology due to the theater size but there are plenty of plays and shows that don't require as much. If you have a chance to check out New Hazlett, I'd definitely recommend it.

I've been here for a variety of events (and that is one of the cool things about the space). There are resident companies that use the space, but various organizations and companies can also rent the space. Which means there is a nice mix of programming available. There are seats around the stage (which aren't always used for each performance) and upper and lower level seating. One thing to note is that their seats are not that wide, so if you are a larger patron or have a wider bottom, it will be a tight squeeze. Sight lines are great from everywhere and it is easy to hear. Parking is available for free in the garage right near the theater. A great place to catch a show!

There is a variety of programming offered from cabaret style solo performances to smaller scale musicals. There are seating options in booths, tables and a raised platform in the back. you can really see/hear well from anywhere in the venue, but the side booths you might lose some perspective. i don't particularly like the new QR code ordering because it can make it hard to actually ask questions about anything (and the servers are so busy it is hard to catch them to ask).. there are a variety of food and drink choices (apps and entrees) and they are on the more pricey side, but that is to be expected at this type of venue. What an awesome organization to have in Pittsburgh! First,…read morethey put on incredible professional shows. They do several a year at the Byham and also have some at their headquarters in the West End. They also have several children's productions every year and while it is obvious physically that they are student performers, the quality is top notch. They also have a wonderful educational component. They offer classes throughout the school year (everything from dance to musical theater and even audition techniques). They offer both evening and weekend class options. PMT also hosts annual summer camps that start fairly young and run through the high school years. One of the great things about their camps is that they are four weeks long (three weeks of a standard camp day, one week of tech week). Many kids need consistency in the summer and this is one of the few summer camp options that offers is. The instructors are all wonderful with the kids and everything is well organized with efficient and plentiful communication. The only slight downside is that parking can be a challenge when attending something at their West End location. There is a municipal lot down the street and plenty of street parking, but you may need to park a few blocks away, so prepare in advance for that. Highly recommend them for taking in a show or participating in their classes or camps!

Even though we were quite early for the show, there was no one around, directing us in terms of where to park and it was quite confusing, being that we had never been there before. We ended up getting very turned around and Wound up 3 miles away from the theater again after passing it... That's our fault, but still better signage would be helpful. The other reason is that, as somebody with a visual impairment, the theater is quite hard to navigate. There is incredibly little space in between each row of seats, and as somebody with a vision impairment, and being plus sized, that can be a very big challenge when it comes to navigating during the appropriate times during our visit. Again, though, those are just our experiences with the venue... This rating does not at all reflect the performance, because it was 10 stars if that is an option! The venue is beautiful and it's definitely a piece of beautiful Pittsburgh history. Just a few touchups could be made! Keep doing amazing things, PMT!
