Ask for Vanessa. They don't use stencils, they trim, tweeze and wax eyebrows. Their prices are lower then Anastasia Brow Bar in Nordstrom's($20-eyebrows, $27-eyebrow and lip). Couldn't be more happy with my outcome, after waiting forever for my eyebrows to go back to normal from threading(uneven, too thin). **FUN FACT : Benefit Cosmetics is a sister company to Louis Vuitton, but not part of it. They are owned by the same parent company. No wonder why it's such a good quality make up!! :)

I'm not really sure the rating to give my experience. So let me break it down just for a second. The lady that waxed my brows was very friendly, kind, and humorous. She was pleasant and nice to speak to. I felt overall she handled me with care and I appreciated that as a customer. I suppose the two star rating is more a reflection of my experiences afterwards. After my waxing, I experienced a great deal of hives and welts. These two things are relatively common for me; however, the extent to which I broke out was much more severe this last time than in previous times. Granted, I have not been waxed in about a year and I am currently six months pregnant. Perhaps these two things played a role in how much welting and swelling experienced. Of greatest concern, is really the continued redness, itching, burning, and development of several dozen tiny pimples in the areas waxed. I am not sure what could've caused this severe break out (a breakout unlike any I have ever experienced before). I did not apply make up after my waxing nor any other facial product. The only products applied to my face were the wax, the oil to remove the wax, and the aloe to soothe my skin. Perhaps it was one of these products that caused my outbreak. I truly want to be as kind as possible and don't want to assume that the outbreak was the fault of the cosmetician as she was quite lovely. However lovely, something certainly happened to cause this severe break out and the brow bar should take every sanitary precaution to ensure that this does not happen to other customers.

I'm writing about an incident that occurred over a year ago, however I hadn't written it due to…read moreembarrassment. I was being waxed by Karen who I had frequently been seeing every 6-8 weeks. On this day, it was the afternoon and her and I were in the room while she had just began my Brazilian. All of a sudden I heard someone abruptly open the door into my wax room and it was a lady asking where the restroom was. Karen and I looked up in disarray and she said this isn't the restroom. She tried covering my private parts but I fear the customer had saw me as she physically walked into the room. I was in shock and Karen was extremely apologetic. I felt that she was also embarrassed and tried to make light of the situation but i was so distraught I didn't know how to react. I left that day and never went back. I don't blame Karen at all, however the fact that a customer was able to have access to my room that easily while my service was being done made me feel extremely uneasy. I do wish The Pretty Kitty had a way to prevent others from easily accessing the rooms as there's really just a door and a curtain separating the lobby to the rooms. I probably won't ever go back but I hope this message finds the establishment and can provide some guidance on reassuring this won't happen again.

Update: After posting my original review, the owner provided screenshots showing that messages had been sent through the Square app. While I appreciate receiving that information, it does not change my overall experience. One point that I feel is important to clarify is that my concerns about communication began before the eyebrow incident and before the missed appointment. I reported to the front desk that I was no longer receiving appointment reminders and notifications and was told that the owner would contact me regarding the issue. To my knowledge, that never happened. The communication issue was the first problem I raised. Later, I experienced burns to both eyebrows following a waxing appointment that lasted nearly two weeks before healing. Despite these concerns, I never felt there was any meaningful effort to address the issues I had raised. The owner later explained that messages had been sent through the Square app, including a message informing me that future appointments would not be accepted. However, after I had already reported communication problems, I do not understand why there was no direct phone call or email regarding my concerns or the decision to discontinue services. In fact, on the same day that I called the salon attempting to discuss my concerns, a message was sent informing me that the salon would no longer be providing services. I fully respect a business's right to choose who they do business with. My disappointment is not that the owner made that decision. My disappointment is that the decision appears to have been made after I raised concerns about communication and my service experience, without any meaningful attempt to resolve those concerns first. Looking back, I believe the communication breakdown was the root of many of the issues that followed. Rather than addressing those concerns, the business relationship was ultimately ended. As a customer, I was left feeling dismissed rather than heard. Potential customers should be aware that if you have concerns regarding communication or your service experience, your concerns may not be addressed in the way you expect. My experience was that the relationship ended before those issues were ever meaningfully discussed or resolved.
