Oh boy.. Prepare yourselves because this review is going to be a wild ride. This place underwent a name change while I was out of the country to Benevolence Health Center. Different name still the same poor quality service. But not all my visits were bad. Only one. I got sick when I was traveling through the Philippines and Taiwan. Nothing too severe but enough to warrant a check at the doctor. I was also dealing with an ear issue, that was the main reason for my visit. The first trip was fine. They wanted to give me a physical, and a few other tests because I hadn't been in the country for so long. No worries. Getting me checked in and to see a doctor took over an hour. Ahhh. But the doctor for my first visit was fine. Said everything seemed normal with my ear give it a few weeks, give the tests a few weeks, come back in 2. Prescribed me an antibiotic and I was put of there. She was great, I don't remember her name. My second visit. Still took over an hour after my scheduled appointment time to get the doctor to see me. This was Dr. Kavin. He walked by the room 3 times not knowing where I was. He walks in the room and I was not expecting what I saw. He was very large, the type of large that definitely wouldn't be giving me diet and health advice.. One eye was looking up at the ceiling and the other had yellow stuff oozing out of it. I'm thinking what is that???? Glasses are 2 inches thick and he's stumbling around like he's drunk. Probably mid 60's. He had a woman in there with him, kinda like a babysitter type to keep him focused on his job. He asked what's wrong with me. ????? It's my second visit, you should know this already read my file. Like, am I the patient or was he? I couldn't tell. The woman and me explained it to him. She left the room and he gets a phone call, so of course he answers. The starts scrolling through his phone, the woman came back in the room and said "Dr. Kavin you have a patient in the room, let's focus on your patient ok?" He gets the person off the phone call and then checks on my ears. Prescribes me medicine and says everything is fine. He tried to leave. I asked him about my test results. Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. That was his favorite thing to say. Said it for everything. What does yeah me? I'm healthy? No problems? Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. Ok fine just get me out of here!! If I die I die. At least I won't have to hear him say yeah one more time. Third visit I had the good doctor from my first. The receptionists are very nice, helped me get my medicine sent to the pharmacist closest to my home. The nurses are great. It's "Dr." Kavin. Did they find this guy on Craigslist? He reminds me of one of those doctors you would go to in Central America the you want to get half price plastic surgery. He's terrible. Once this saga is finished I will switch health providers before open enrollment finishes. 2 stars because the other staff is great. But I can't give them more than that. read more

BEWARE Karen Mensa!!!! The worst of the worst doctors ever I made an appointment so I can get helped and instead she kept trying to send me to another facility!!! Why the hell am I paying to speak to a doctor when they don't want to do their job and sent their client to another facility!!!! The guy receptionist was actually really nice and decent but the doctor was rude and giving attitude to a patient in need of help, instead of helping she just kept going on that everything I need she can't do there?! How would she know if she hasn't even seen me in person?!?! read more

Update: I've changed my rating from one star to three stars due to a phone call from the office manager who read my review. She clearly took my experience seriously, printing out my review and asking each staff member for a written explanation. She spent over a half hour on the phone with me to go through all the concerns my visit had brought up, and assured me that this was an anomaly and would never happen again. She treated me with the utmost respect and did all in her power to make reparations, such as refunding my money and letting me know she had reported the employees responsible. What I appreciate most is that she did not once ask me to remove my review. My final take on this experience is that with this office manager on top of things, future patients will not find themselves in a similar situation. read more

I brought my developmentally disabled son, Tony, age 31, to Family Health Clinic for his annual physical this morning. We were greeted by a pleasant receptionist who took the insurance information and then, Melissa, the nurse, brought us back to the examining room. My son was nervous, but Melissa put him at ease with her calm and friendly demeanor. She performed an eye exam, hearing exam and took his blood pressure and weight, all the while making sure Tony felt comfortable. Thereafter, Dr. Marshall Zablen came into the examination room and greeted Tony with a big smile and warm handshake. Tony was happy to see Dr. Zablen again and his nervousness visibly diminished. Dr. Zablen addressed my concerns, all the while making Tony feel a part of the discussion. When it was time for Tony to give blood, Dr. Zablen's easy going personality had lessened Tony's anxiety and Emily, the other wonderful nurse, was then able to draw blood and take an EKG. In this age of HMO's and revolving door medicine, it is so wonderful to know that doctors such as Dr. Zablen still exist and take the time to talk to their patients with professionalism, courtesy, respect and humanity. His staff is wonderful, and I am appreciative of all of their efforts to make Tony's experience a good one. I would definitely recommend this clinic! read more

The front desk staff lady is so rude. Very unhelpful. I came in to get an authorization to see an orthopedic. Like I said the lady that was in the front desk was very rude didn't try to make the experience easy knowing I'm in Pain with a broken ankle. She kept having me get up to the front window instead of being kind and thoughtful knowing I am in pain and can't walk. I moved closer to the window because I knew she was gonna keep calling me to go up and she slams the window . Any ways I'm not even done with my experience I'm still here. This place is trash. I called in on a Monday to have my insurance Checked and see if they accepted it. I was never called back. I came in on Thursday for my appointment after waiting an hour they tell me they don't accept the insurance. The clerk tries lying to me saying the system was down. But she told another patient the system was down since Tuesday and I called Monday. And if the systems down how was she able to check my insurance is not accepted at her clinic. I don't know if it's lazy people or lack of proper training but I hope they take the necessary steps to improve and provide better customer service in the future. read more

I would give a negative star if I could. This is the WORST health clinic on Earth. The staff are liars and when confronted, they continue to lie, they do not own up to their mistakes and therefore, you will never get an apology from any of them. The doctors and staff are nice but there is a lack of communication between them and their patients. If you have questions you better ask when you're there because it's hard to get an answer afterwards. I had a check up where they had to draw blood 3 times! The first time the lab didn't do a certain test, the second time they couldn't do it because the cap on the blood was the wrong color but they finally got it right on the 3rd time. The office billed my insurance incorrectly so I was being charged over $130 more for their mistake. The office also charged my insurance for the second blood draw and said the doctor had ordered other tests on that time too. I don't feel like I should pay for their mistakes or for tests the doctor did not tell me he ordered or why. I'm still tying to sort this out 5 months later. It's taking so long because it's hard to get an answer from the office and they don't always call when they say. I also saw the obgyn and she was also very nice and explained everything very well. However it's hard to get in contact with her or her nurse. I once waited 45 minutes for my appointment only to have the front desk tell me the doctor had to leave and to reschedule. I had to stop taking a prescription because I could not get in contact with the doctor to refill my prescription. On top of all this I received a bill for my pap and had the billing tell me it was a law that was passed that required everyone to pay about $35 for this but received a different answer from the nurse and the lab. It seems like an extra test was ordered but still haven't received a straight answer as to why it was ordered. read more

Yesterday was my first visit i was assigned to this dr for a long time but had not came in for a check up or anything to be honest the place looked sketchy and most of the time theres homeless people out side the building . I proceeded to go since i just recently i found out i was pregnant and i wanted a referral to another clinic. So i did my hw and i called my insurance i went to the clinic i wanted a transfer there and all my insurance said was that the dr there dr silver had to give me that referral he said it should not take much time he just needs to sign a paper so i went . I talked to the receptionist and she was nice asked if i could take a urine sample to make sure i was pregnant. I never got a response or a confirmation on to if i was or not she just told me just sit down and they will be with you in a little bit. I explained i had work at a certain time that if it would take a long time and she said no that i would be out before that . I went in before 2 around 1:45 pm . So i wait and wait and wait. Its now 3 and i asked her whats taking so long I've seen people that came after me go in and out like nothing . She said they were waiting to catch the dr fast for the signature but from were i was seated i could actually tell he was in his office sitting by himself. So i waited until 3:45 and i left i been calling towards the referral and it seems no one cares i just get put on hold several times with no answer. This is the main reason I want a damn transfer if you guys cant help anyone walking into that door then what are you guys there for honestly . A referral takes maybe a check up identifying the reason of changing and then helping the patient change . Its in the benefit of the patient not the dr . I will continue to get my transfer because honestly after this i wont even come back after i have my baby no way! read more

The African American (or Cuban/Costa Rica) female Physician Assistant (P.A) with the 90's Flat Top hair cut, with the top dyed Blond, has been by far the worst doctor I have EVER had in my life. The first thing she told me when she walked into the room was "how long have you been in the US?" and I told her I was born here in the US. Then she turned looked at my mom and told her "does she have papers?" and "how long has she been here in the U.S?" Referring to me of course. Then she asked my mom if she had papers--which to me is extremely racist. I didn't go to be judged or to be belittled, I only went for a rehabilitation referral, and to go on with my life and she kept insisting that I didn't have "papers" and that I wasn't born in the U.S. Then she goes on to tell me "why do you smell like urine"?... Seriously? Would I had gone out to the street or to a clinic smelling like urine? Besides, I believe the staff or the nurse who took my blood pressure would had told me or said something to me. I was with my mother, and she disrespected her as well. She told her why she hadn't taken me to rehabilitation services before-as if though I was a child. My mom explained to her that I was going to physical therapy up to the age of 21, then I went to the gym. She screamed at my mother sarcastically telling her "Really!? Reallly?!"-in disbelief. First of all, I'm not a child, I'm 31 yrs old, and I walk and do a lot of aquatic movements in my house because I have a pool. I don't know what this crazy Flat Top witch wanted from me. Just because I asked for a referral to get more physical therapy. She acted out on me and even blamed my family, as if though it was their fault I wasn't seeing a therapist. For the record I am perfectly fine, I just use an ambulatory device every now in then in my house or at work. I just wanted to see if perhaps I could also have rehabilitation services. Maybe the problem was that she didn't want to give me a referral. Besides, if I hadn't been to rehabilitation services before it was because I was too busy, getting my Master's degree from Harvard University. So, she said she wasn't going to give me the referral because she first wanted blood test, and for me to see a neurologist, get an MRI. Etc. Now I ask, what does my blood have to do with me getting physical therapy? To make a long story short, I don't believe she wanted to give me the referral, and she was finding anyway possible to intimidate me. She even went to the Parking Lot looking for me asking me to go back in to have exams done on me, I told her "no, because my transportation was coming soon, I will make an appointment another day, thank you", then she scream at me and told me "Fine, if you don't care about your health, I don't either!!". ...Never have I ever had a doctor chase me to the Parking Lot-so unprofessional. I am already looking into the Board of Certifications to have her medical license expelled. I can't believe that in this time and age, there are racist Medical doctors working with the minority population. Where does this lady think she is working in Beverly Hills? She is obviously incompetent to be working for low-income patients due to her unethical approach towards patients needs. Please anyone reading this, if you have had the same experience, please let your voice be heard and make a complain at the State Medical Board, Better Business Bureau, American Medical Association, and HealthGrades.com. We are not alone!! This doctor will keep abusing of her power to keep performing malpractices if we don't stop and do something now. read more

This is the most unprofessional very very inexperienced place!!! Stay away Scott silver hides from you, his workers lie,they don't answer the phone I have to call from a different number or go directly there!!! They give you wrong prescription's, and continue to lie!!! I should have known by looking at the disgusting location and rude receptionist I changed doctors to a more professional office where they actually listen and greet you, and do not hang up on you because they have caller ID they need to get a professional staff I don't know how they are still in buisness p.s. The physician's assistant recommended a completely unnecessary and drastic form of birth control - a hysterectomy! She informed me that I should get a hysterectomy because if I wasn't going to have children then I should get rid of my uterus. After all, she said, a uterus was only meant for two things - having babies or getting cancer. She even told me that Planned Parenthood would do this procedure for free. Completely irresponsible.
