We started with the lentil soup, boiling hot and full of lemon juice and black pepper. Mango lassis for both of us, and when we asked for tap water, we were given an entire pitcher of ice water for the table, with two cups. My husband ordered lamb handi, cubes of tender meat in a thick gravy with tomatoes, onions and green peppers. He had ordered it "Medium spicy", but I think the kitchen was grading on a curve: It was less punchy than the soup. Still, I wouldn't order "Hot" as I once did here: The chef takes pride in his liberal use of peppers at this level. (The menu warns you: "This is a dish for stronger constitutions"). My lamb shashlik was char grilled on a skewer (thoughtfully removed prior to serving) with slices of tomato, onions and green peppers, plated on a sizzling iron plate.
