Not only did I NOT get my Butter Naan, the garden salad for 7.99 came in a tiny miso soup cup with no dressing and it tastes like metal. I have been coming here for the last year for dinner and it has been nothing short of amazing. The service is excellent, everyone is very friendly and helpful. The sweet Lassi is my favorite drink on the menu, perfectly complementing the food. Alongside a good starter is the meat samosas with tamarind chutney. Then they have hands down the best shrimp curry, butter chicken, and garlic Naan in Buffalo. We have definitely enjoyed a lot of Indian food in Kenmore. For this restaurant, the taste ranks highest, with good service, and a simple atmosphere. We started with chicken samosas and poppers with fries for appetizers. The family bundles made for more affordable and easy ordering. We opted for the tandoori bundle with a few different chicken based dishes, a salad, and naan for $39.99. Then we added on the cheese naan. Salad is your basic iceberg salad with olives, cucumbers, and tomatoes. The curry had a thickened tomato soup-like base but seasoned well and great for dipping the naan. Chicken Tikka kebab came with both leg and breast meat. The tandoori over rice was seasoned with cilantro and a creamy sauce. The server was very friendly and appreciative of the business. He wasn't an owner but showed a lot of pride for the restaurant. He brought rice pudding out for the kids at the end. Atmosphere is very casual and outdated. I have a tough time with this review. On one hand the food was pretty good- on the other our stomachs were not having it afterwards. I'm not sure if it's because the dishes were extremely oil/buttery or why. We got a lamb curry and a chicken tikka masala. We eat Indian quite regularly and have never had this issue. I believe the woman who took our order was newer but had to repeat myself numerous times to order quite basic dishes. Excellent food, staff, and service. We asked for the most authentic dish and were suggested the beef both over rice. We gave it a try and it was the best dish by far. I never make big orders here, and I usually get snacks from here sort of often since it's like 100 yards from my house. So caveat is that I've never had entrees here. I either get single orders of naan to go with my frozen Indian food from Trader Joe's, or sometimes I just want fried snacks and the chutney dip. Or my favorite - the tandoori wings. I guess the only advantages of this place are late hours, within 15 mins of my house and the prices are on the lower side. But I don't know how hard it can be to screw up chicken. I have had chicken over rice and the two types of kababs in the picture. The chicken pieces are very dry and the salads don't look fresh. So, I've been looking forward to this place since I saw it was going to open! I love halal food so much, because even when it's mediocre it's good. I think that this place is a solid four, with the potential to be a five if they knock some of the curries out of the park. I got some chicken Seekh kebabs and some chicken biryani, both of these things being comfort food for me. So, the kebabs were decent. Not the best I've ever had, but far from the worst. I think I'll try the beef next time, though. But they were different enough from others I've had that they were definitely theirs, you know? Three chicken biryani was pretty okay. The chicken wasn't bad, wasn't the best. Fresh though, and cooked nicely. The rice itself though is extremely reminiscent of Alibaba. Down to the same crisp onions on top. It was kind of spicy, so honestly, of that's their hottest, it's kind of mild. But it has a good flavour, which is also important in a spicy dish. Came here on there opening day they had a free buffet it was really good so decided to come back and try some new things got the butter chicken the beef and chicken kebabs the tandoori chicken leg quarters and garlic naan. Everything was very good. The butter chicken was spicy but sweet at the same time this was only my second time having it so I'm not sure how its supposed to taste now. I prefer this version than the one i had at indian gate on herself. The portion was smaller here tho.the beef kabobs were amazing I really didn't like rhe chicken ones.
