Hamilton Place Mall is packed with products and features galore, but if you are a vegetarian you have to really hunt for something fresh to eat. If your crew has to stay indoors at HPM you have to endure the noise and uncomfortable chairs at the food court, but I stumbled upon the Portobello Sandwich at Beni's. If you choose the combo option and pick the beans and rice you get a protein rich meal that is hot and actually tastes pretty good. A discerning pallet is something that takes a bit of work, but you can be rewarded if you stay focused. This one meal at Beni's is one of those rewards. read more

Beni's Cubano is a mall food stall inside Hamilton Place. We weren't originally planning to eat here, but we were trying to find something a little different in Chattanooga and Beni's seemed like it would hit the spot. We just got a single sandwich to try the food out. All the ingredients are pre-prepped so it was a simple matter of assembly and heating before it was ready for consumption. Cuban ($9) - They first start by spreading mayo on the top piece of bread and mustard on the bottom piece. The bread is around 6 inches in length, so it's a bit on the small side. They add crunchy pickles, then a layer of ham on the bottom, then a good amount of pulled pork and cheese. The pork is appropriately seasoned, but has some fattier bits. The entire sandwich is then flattened and heated on a plancha until the bread is crunchy on the outer layers, while the interior stays fluffy and chewy. The sandwich is served super hot, with the swiss cheese melted all over and the grease soaking into the parchment paper and the paper bag. Be careful not to burn your mouth! Unfortunately the grease starts soaking into the bread as well, resulting in kind of a mushy mess half way into eating. I'm not sure if this Cubano is authentic or not as I've never been to Miami or Tampa, but I thought the ingredients worked well together to make a very tasty sandwich. I can't say that I normally expect good food in a mall food court, but there are surprises sometimes and Beni's is one of them. read more

Had to stop in Chattanooga for a charge, and ran into the mall to get lunch. I saw there was a Cuban restaurant in the food court and quickly glanced at stellar reviews. We ordered a Cuban sandwich, a chicken sandwich, side of rice and beans and the Beni's sauce. Overall, it was fantastic and I would definitely eat again. One thing to note is that the sandwiches can be a little messy so they are hard to eat in the car if you get them to go. Let me start off by saying that we are not Cuban but my wife worked in a legit Cuban joint growing up. Because of this we have been making our own Cuban's for years and we really have our recipe/method down. We normally hunt out Cuban places while travelling and we always compare our Cuban sandwiches to what we get. Beni's is the first place that blew our Cubans away. It was amazing. I can not stress enough how good it was. The sandwiches, yucca, and black beans were the best we have ever had and just the thought of them while writing this review is making my mouth water. We were only passing through Chattanooga during a drive from Chicago to Atlanta but I will be finding excuses to pass through there again just for this food. My only complaint would be that there is not a Beni's in my hometown so I could eat this more often. Growing up in Tampa, I have always loved good Cuban food. Since I moved back to Chattanooga I yelped for Cuban food. I was surprised and thankful there was an option Beni's Cubano. While excellent food I was surprised it was in the food court. Pressed Cuban freshly made with maduros and a drink all for less than 13. They had other traditional Cuban food and I will definitely be back for more! read more

This place is amazing! I'm originally from Chicago and it reminds of authentic Cuban food. I ordered the Cuban Sandwich and it was on of the best sandichwics I've ever had. My husband and I loved another Cuban restaurant when it started out downtown. Over the years, it has switched owners and went downhill quite a bit. When I was shopping in the mall and came across Beni's, the nice gentleman let me taste test the chicken and the pork. HAND DOWN, the pork won me over! It was tender, juicy, and had A LOT of flavor. My mother in law just got sides of rice and beans and loved that as well! They have e a really good soda selection as well. Covid days make opening a business difficult, let alone in a mall food court where stores are dying off slowly. Beni's Cubano is amazing and delicious! My husband and I tried it for the first time last night for dinner and we were blown away! It's all so flavorful! I tried some samples of the pork, chicken and beef and it was all so good! I especially loved the shredded beef and chicken. The sweet plantains (maduros) werebsweet and delicious! We also LOVED our chicken and beef empanadas! Even the rice and beans were so flavorful! The owner is super friendly and makes you feel like a valued customer. I wondered why Beni's had no line at the mall. I had not tried the food and they were quick to give me samples. The beef, pork and chicken were all great. The price was a couple dollars more than the plates at the oriental places, so that might have been why they did not have a line. I got a half pork and half beef plate and it was great. It comes with rice and plantains and black beans which were all great and the black beans were the best I ever had. I had a Cuban coffee and it was also really good.
