I was on my way back from Georgia for a work trip and decided to spend the night in downtown Chattanooga. Very chill compared to downtown Nashville. I passed by this spot just walking around, enjoying the nice weather. I love me some Venezuelan food so I figured might as well support smaller businesses. This was before I saw it had a 4.9! The host was super friendly and energetic. I got two empanadas, yuca fries, and mango juice for $20, which is really good considering the surrounding area. It was super hot and fresh! One thing to address with the empanadas is the chicken one was pretty empty. I actually overheard another table ask the waiter about it. read more

Venezuelan spot was beyond incredible. Got two of the arepas - one that was shredded beef and cheese, the other with shredded beef, cheese, beans, and fried plantains. This place is amazing! The food is so delicious, and the staff is so kind, friendly, and helpful. It's the perfect hole-in-the-wall restaurant! My family of six came in around 12:30 on a weekday, and we got seated immediately. We tried a number of their dishes, including their arepas, empanadas, platos, and appetizers. Arepas (uh-RAY-puhs) are corn flatbreads stuffed with fillings, and here, they serve them either baked or fried. My favorite was their pabellón arepa. It takes all the components of their pabellón plate (Venezuela's national dish) and stuffs them in the arepa. The mix of savory beef, creamy cheese, and mildly sweet plantain makes for a mouthwatering, balanced meal that's so easy to crave. I'm already looking forward to coming back! read more

Wonderful little family-run Venezuelan cafe. We were warmly welcomed by a woman who answered all our questions. The menu is in English and in Spanish. We bought a bunch of arepas, empanadas, and juices and enjoyed tasting them all. Very reasonable price and easy parking on street. read more

This is a relatively new spot, and for me, my very first time sampling of Venezuelan food. I cannot speak from an authenticity standpoint, so I will leave that to others. As this was a carry-out order, I have no pictures for you, and for this I apologize. There's not much to the restaurant itself, it was plain, clean and empty. I was very thankful for the young lady that explained the food options to me. So everyone of course has heard of empanadas, so that was an easy choice, and as my second choice, I decided to go with arepas. The empanadas were fine, as there are many similar food options available from other ethnic groups, but the arepas, now that was incredible. Went for lunch on Wednesday with my coworker who said Little Venezuela was really good. I got the shredded chicken arepa, yuca fries, and the brown sugar lime drink. They were out of the beef but my coworker said it was the best thing on the menu in her opinion. Everything was really good and really fresh. The brown sugar lime drink reminded me of tamarind flavor, i will get it again. Service was great and the family running the restaurant is very sweet. read more

I lived and worked in Venezuela for two years. The food at little Venezuela is the real deal. I had a cachapa with cheese and shredded beef. I also had the tequeños. Everything hand made with wonderful flavors. The dipping sauces were fresh and flavorful. Ambiance is spartan, think of basic seating tables and chairs, no booths. It is plain. This is a hole in the wall dineing experience. Service: The gal was very patient in explaining the different options on the menu. Sunday afternoon, we were the only customers so we took a bit of time asking the different options. Food: Deliciouse! Yuca Fries that came out piping hot and the garlic sauces that went along with it round it out. I like the spicyy garlic sauce. Wife and kiddo like the green sauce. Fried Empanadas - Pabelion was stuffed with beef, cheese and beans. Baked Arepas - think of a round pancake stuffed with shredded beef. Loved both items as they are very similar, and of course the fried empanadas was winner. Who doesn't like fried food? Baked is good if you want it a less grease. Patacones Amarillo, Chicken in between Friend flatten plantain like a pancake. Patacones was the star of the show since we love the mild banana plantain flavor.
