Angela's never disappoints! Nothing crazy except the menu, which is loaded full of choices that can easily confuse a hungry diner. There is a plethora of flavor to be enjoyed by any palate. The overall experience is fine as it is not fine dining nor is it fast food, it's a little bit country in the city and city in the country. I feel you really get a mix of the everything with wall murals, big screen TVs, a stage, a sports bar...... what more can you ask for when you want a meal and can't think of what to have? Lastly, the staff have got to be some of the absolute best! It never fails, they are always happy and fairly busy, because they have it all together. The food was cold, asked to be reheated and it was still lukewarm! The plantains in garlic sauce were not super fresh or tasty. My shredded pork was good. I had the covered, smothered, pork chop plate maybe chuleta or something (actually can't remember the name), recommended by the waitress, and the customer sitting at the table across from us, it was delicious. I'm in Athens for work fairly often and this is by far the best restaurant there. There is usually live music and lots of rotating local beer. They have a pretty extensive menu with a few very good vegetarian options. I always get the root vegetable street tacos and they slap. I've taken many coworkers here and they all enjoy it read more

Busy, but not too busy on a holiday week Monday night. Appeared to be lots of locals, which is a good sign. Thankfully, it was relatively quiet, though there appears to be a stage for a band, so it could probably get very loud. Decent selection of beers. Great selection of food. Service was very lackluster, bordering on unacceptable. Server brought our main dishes out, so we assumed she didn't hear the appetizer order, but it showed up about half way through our meal. The main dishes were excellent. The appetizer was just okay. The ham croquettes were excellent, everything else was not very bland and overcooked. A local favorite, the food is delicious. They moved from near downtown recently, so the address is a little inconsistent across platforms, So White street is correct, Madison Ave is the old location, and today there is a taqueria there. When I've ordered online it's been a bit confusing when I arrive for pickup, but even when the order wasn't precise (onions vs no onions and one other minor thing another time), it was flavorful and I was not disappointed. I include this for those who aren't flexible or have strict preferences. Beer, no liquor. Several to choose from, a veritable wall of taps. Latin American, Caribbean, mostly Cuban themed fare with basics for the kiddos and occasional weird friends with bland palates. It's busy at noon and 6-8pm. They have live music on weekends and a fun bar trivia game going every time I've been. I totally recommend Angela's. It's a local, unique, cool spot and I always look forward to it. read more

The burgers here are good but not the greatest. The live music they have is the same ole same ole. They don't have a liquor license so you can't have a drink except beer. The place is always clean though and the staff and servers are kind and attentive for the most part. I think the best meal thy have is the kid's chicken tender plate and fries. read more

Yeah - this place is delish! Drove by it the first time because I there's a marquee in the parking lot says something else and that's what I was looking at. I've been there twice now, so I know exactly where I'm going. My boyfriend works in the area and he's probably been there for five times already and he's only been working in the area for a month. Pretty standard inside nothing special, but there is a stage in the corner, so I'm assuming there's some kind of live entertainment from time to time. The tables ( all of which were full of what looked to be a lot of happy regulars) are a little close, but that just gives you a chance to see the other items on the menu, right? Lol The service is on point! Everyone was friendly, and our server was quick with the beverage refills! That's always a big plus for us, as it means, she's keeping an eye on us. My first visit was dine in for lunch And I ordered the Chimmi chicken with a side of their rice and beans and fried Tostones. The chicken was nice and moist and so very flavorful and the chimmi was perfectly delicious. The rice and beans were good although they came as two separate items and I would've thought they would've been some sort of mixture. The kitchen goofed and gave me sweet plantains, and when the waitress noticed what it was, she went back and got me a small order of the Tostones so I got to try both. Both were exactly what I expected. Serving size was just right, and by that I mean eat half for lunch, take the other half for leftover dinner. Tasted just as good warmed up. Second visit I just had to order "Angela's famous Cuban sandwich". Yum, Yum, Yum. The bread on that sandwich was the star and all the goodies inside work portion just right! I will say that I do have another favorite Cuban restaurant, not far from where I live, but Angela's sandwich beats theirs! Oh, and this was also a take-out order and what I found interesting was that I arrived at the restaurant probably about 15 minutes before it opened and I was not the only person in the parking lot waiting for them to open. I think that's a good sign. My boyfriend as I mentioned has been there several times, and I know he's ordered the Cuban sandwich at least twice and had their burgers. He said the burgers were flavorful and moist and that they put "real bacon instead of that skinny see-through stuff" some places use. read more

Get the appetizer sampler! The pork is devine. They have a pork or chicken main with a onions and chimi sauce. I had the chicken and regretted not waiting for the pork chop resupply run. Very high prices for very small portions. I paid around $20 for a 1/4 of a cuban sandwich with fries. This place used to be really good but they have steadily gone downhill over the last year or so. They were closing down at 7 PM on a Saturday because absolutely no one was there and I see why now. To be honest, being from Florida, this is absolutely not authentic Cuban food. The fries were good but could have been cooked just a bit more. I am originally from the Tampa Bay Area and have had lots of Cuban sandwiches and this was pretty close. This is another great local eatery. The new location is much bigger than the previous location and has attracted way more customers...which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Every time I have been there in the new location, it has been slamming busy and I think they try to fit too many people into their dining room. They do a good job keeping up with orders and service *but* I liked the smaller feel of the old location better. It wasn't as crowded, people weren't bumping into you, and I think the food was a little better there too. It may just be because they are rushing to get orders out. Don't get me wrong...You'll not find another local place around with a better hot sandwich like the Philly Cheesesteak or Cuban. read more

What a great find. Five stars for multiple reasons. The place has charm. It show's its age, but is is brought to life with local entertainment, great service, friendly staff and most importantly - great food. We got the Shrimp Tacos and Fish Tacos. Both are outstanding. We also tried the Pasta Alfredo. The noodles were homemade. It was awesome. They also have cold draft beer. Our bill before tip was just under $50 bucks for 4 adults. I can't say enough.
