My First time coming to Benny Auto Repair and they took good care of me. Fixed my problem, fast service. This will be my new mechanic place.

We have used Benny's Auto Repair for at least 12 years. Any and all questions start with an appointment with Benny's and end with Benny's repairs. With so many successful Auto Repairs by Benny's Auto Repair, from our 2008 Tundra, 2006 Altima, 2008 Solara to our 2020 Nautilus we have never had to take any vehicle back for the same issue. Short story: I was emotionally attached to my mom's 2001 Sedan DeVille when she passed away I wanted to have it repaired... Benny, very gently explained the ins & outs of that year model Cadillac which lead to my realization that it wouldn't be practical. (If you read this Benny, thank you!) Others may have let me throw money into the "money pit" but, Benny was upfront and honest with me. Excellent, fast, honest, cost effective service. I highly recommend this Business. read more

**Review:** I'm very disappointed with the experience I had at this shop. I called hoping for a professional evaluation and repair, but instead I was told the car wasn't "worth fixing" -- without even attempting to understand my priorities or budget. It's one thing to offer an honest assessment of cost vs. value -- that's part of being a good mechanic. But dismissing a customer's vehicle outright and refusing service felt unprofessional and dismissive. A mechanic's job is to provide options, not decide for me! I hang up feeling disrespected and undervalued as a customer. I would not recommend this place if you're looking for someone who will treat you and your vehicle with fairness and respect. Max threw a serpentine belt over a jammed idler tensioner on my way to a meeting this afternoon in Texas City with ADA Executive Director Ellie Hanley. Steering was really heavy. Temperature rising. Idiot lights going off everywhere. I called my mechanic in Galveston and he recommended Benny's. Turned out they were four blocks away from my meeting and suggested I finish the meeting and check the engine temperature before driving the 4 blocks. Ellie and I had a board meeting in Galveston at 5:30 so I was sort of panicked since it was 3:00 when the meeting was over At Benny's The Benny, who I have heard legendary things about since I first arrived in Galveston County, took charge. He analyzed the problem and told Ellie and I to go to lunch. His son "Ben" advised the Mexican Restaurant across the street. Terrazzo. We went there and had an excellent Tex-Mex meal ending at 4:00. We drove back across the street to Benny's and Max was fixed! Ready to go! And it was all free! No, it wasn't. Why would it be free? But it was a great job. I took my car in to be inspected they took it in a right away. I did not realize my left tail light was out when I asked how much to replace it including labor they told me $4!! They're honest quick reliable and I do a great job. I'm bringing my brother's car in today to be inspected I won't go to anyone else but Benny's!! read more

Family run joint. Got my oil change and sticker renewed at this place a couple of months ago. They do decent work, but damn, their prices seem to be higher than many other shops around town or even in Houston. I guess this guy has some loyal customers that keep coming to him, but if you're looking to save money on basic items, I'd stay away. Maybe their prices are better for higher end services, but the mark-up is something they can work on as I wouldn't go here again just based on the pricing. If you're nearby or can't find another repair shop, I suppose this place works and seems trustworthy enough. read more

Always been straight. Could've worked on my truck when it was making a weird noise while it was idling. Told me to take it to the dealer (cause it should be covered by the manufactures warranty) after they charged for a diagnostic. Turned out to be something big. Very trustworthy read more

I always count on Benny for an honest evaluation of my car. It's a bit far to drive here from Galveston for an oil change so I took my car to NTB for that and a tire rotation. When NTB told me I had several "urgent repairs" I knew I needed a second opinion from Benny. Sure enough, NTB's claim that my brakes were at 1% was totally bogus! Benny said I still have more than half of my brake pad left! To sum Benny's up: honest service at good prices! That's why I come from Galveston to have them work on my car! read more

Doesn't know how to diagnose correctly. I would not suggest taking your car here, he'll just cost you extra money by throwing parts at your car without actually trying to figure out the problem. read more
